If you love excellent beers than this is one of the places to hit up when in Hilo. All though the food can be occasionally inconsistent at times, the good selection of Ola brews and great service can somewhat make up for it. Don't get me wrong on the food, it's good. If you come here and eat something delicious, on the next visit you want that same dish to be equally as good or better. Getting anything on a lower scale can be disappointing. I've experienced it first hand, but still am a fan of Ola's Brew restaurant. Every place has its hiccups, they are no different. Hopefully it's an off day. Also as a non soda drinker (wife's a soda fan) I think they should offer a few name brand soft drinks for families, though I do give them kudos for trying to substitute it with their own mixtures, but sorry soda drinkers are very picky just like most beer drinkers. I do love that they have free parking available and the restaurant itself is kept very clean and can accommodate larger groups. Overall a place to check out when in Hilo.

10oz ribeye sliced up with fries and chimchuri sauce, good

Ola Brewing is one of my favorite places to visit primarily because of the beer. The town this is always evolving, from visit to visit. There's usually something new. Fortunately for me there's usually three or four on the board that I've had before and I really like so I'm always happy with the beer. This trip we opted to ordered the 10oz ribeye steak with chimichurri sauce. The flavor and taste of the steak was good but the texture of the meat was a little tough for the amount you pay for 10 oz. We worded it because we saw someone else order one a couple of nights before and it looked tender but ours was not. Still, it was a very shareable item at a premium price though. Really here for the beer selection which is always good and usually there are several beers on the wall that are very amenable to our taste. I have to honestly say I think I like the Kona tap room better because the Hilo tap Room seems more clinical and not as welcoming and warm as the Kona taproom or that's my personal opinion. Others may think differently.

I wish I took more pictures but I was so busy having my drinks and ono grinds! The food tasted awesome, the drinks were delicious, and the staff needs a raise haha, overall, so glad we pit-stopped at Ola brew, coming back for sure, God willing!

First time at Ola Brew for lunch, was promptly seated and given menu's and water. Selections on menu were simple so we ordered the cheeseburger and Cobb salad. Items arrived fast, the cheeseburger was nice and cooked just right, very tasty. Fries was hot and fresh. The Cobb salad was also nicely presented and well proportioned, good size serving. The waitress was very attentive and checked on us during our meal. Overall experience was great and will return to try other items on the menu!

One of the best places that we ate in Hilo. Lots of fresh and inventive. choices. Would recommend the Lechon or Bao Buns as appetizers. Dandan gnocchi was a favorite main. Relaxing atmosphere and the service is super friendly. Would recommend!

We decided to venture over to Hilo for the day to experience something other than Kona. After stopping at the Kaumana Caves and Rainbow Falls, it was time for lunch. The consensus was "find a place that serves beer and fries." Looked up Ola Brewery Taproom (Hilo) and headed over there. We were immediately seated, watched some of the football game, and ordered lunch (and a beer). Had the Ola Burger and fries with a Kiawe Vanilla Porter. Excellent combination!!! Nice vibe and friendly hosts. Stop in if nearby.

Vegetarian friendly apps! We got the curry fries which were delicious and the drinks are unique. The vibe was my favorite- big beautiful windows to watch the rain and spacious tables. Definitely a Hilo fav for us!

OLA HARD JUICE --enjoyed many sips from. Sorry! Generous pour.

Excellent service, and all staff were attentive. Was warm outside and inside was nice and cool. We all had the OLA burger and enjoyed the fresh and great flavored ingredients. I had the Dragon fruit Lemonade. I do not drink that much, but I really enjoyed this hard juice drink. I took a picture, but was already enjoying it when I remembered to snap a shot! They also have some great merchandise.

Decided to stop by this cute little restaurant. The vibe was great, live music was happening but the music was a little too loud to the point that my waitress couldn't hear us and ended up getting our order wrong. It was busy so we tried to be understanding of the waitress. When the food did come out the fries were delicious. The burger was okay. The Mahi mahi was good. The steak was when the problem happened. The steak was on one side raw and the other side over cooked.

    Smash burger! A must try!

Wow! Not only are the drinks & food super yummy but I was very impressed with how family friendly it was! 1. Parking was great since they have a big lot! 2. They had highchairs, kids menu and kids cups with lid & straw! 3. The food was amaaaaaazing! Highly recommend the burger and chicken tacos! 4. Service was great! They were all so friendly and kept checking on us throughout the night! 5. The flights are a great way to try their beers/seltzers!!! We'll definitely be back!

Fast Friendly service. I sat at the bar watching the soccer game since it was just me on this trip. Food was very satisfying, I had the Asian Chicken Salad with a Da Hazy Light beer. The Ice Cream Banana special topped it off. Kona has sister Ola Brewery downtown.

Ola Brew was a tasty treat from start to finish. We had the Dan Dan gnocchi which was wonderful, as well as the steak and, both bao buns and the dessert bao bun. We ordered our food to go after a long day of exploration. The staff packed our food carefully and was also extremely diligent about my food allergies.

"There is nowhere you could go that I won't be with you." - Moana Once in awhile you'll find a place that exceeds expectations. Add Ola Brew - Hilo to that short list! After I was picked up at BIG Hilo Airport I was famished and told my sista let's get brunch! Ola Brew has been on both of our lists for a while, even though I've had the beer on previous visits, it was always a can or bottle from KTA. On this late morning the planets aligned and Ola Brew it is! On a Sunday the posted hours say 11:00am open, however when we arrived a tad after 10:30am the doors were already open with customers inside. I should have confirmed, but I would guess the opening time is 10:00am-ish? Upon entering we were warmly greeted and led to one of the high cafe tables. Each employee we encountered friendly with a calm vibe. I instantly fell in love with the natural light ambiance and high ceilings. The Sunday menu offered brunch so I opted for the ADOBO FRIED RICE OMELETTE - 3 egg omelet filled with Adobo fried rice and topped with house-made Hollandaise ($18). Sis chose the AVOCADO TOAST served with hard boiled eggs and fries from the Keiki Menu ($12). We each ordered FLIGHTS (pick four). I chose a combination of Beers and Hard Juices ($15). I really enjoyed the Dragon Fruit Lemonade and the Luhia Pale Ale. Tita's fav the Tangelo! I loved how the staff had no limit to combinations unlike other breweries. I also highly suggest you leave a choice for the friendly staff to pick for you. The turnaround time was clockwork. Our brunch in front of us minutes after receiving our Flights. Oh my! The ADOBO FRIED RICE OMELETTE was beyond amazing with chunks of pork and well seasoned rice. Adult Sis enjoyed her Keiki meal and tho it's listed as a kids meal... the serving was very generous and adults would be well fed! In the end, I highly recommend Ola Brew - Hilo. Located in downtown Hilo it's easy to find with plenty parking! Sista who lives in the area easily parked her Big Island Tita-lifted-Toyota-truck-with-fat-mud-tires into da stall lol! Chee hooo!:D Pls follow my IG adventures: @eric_travel_guru

First, we went on a Monday evening around 6:30 PM, and there was plenty of seating. The hostess seated us right away. Our server was amazing (I wish I could remember his name), but he was definitely friendly, efficient, and had a good personality. We ordered the Edamame, which had sesame oil and a little chili flakes. It had a slight kick, but it wasn't hot or spicy. Amazing! We then ordered the Captain Pizza, which had house-made tomato sauce, MOzzarella, Pepperoni, Tomato, Black Olives, Mushrooms, and Portuguese Sausage (Large /14" for $36. It was absolutely great! We ordered light sauce, and it came out perfect. The crust was cooked perfectly. Crusty on the outside, soft and hot on the inside. The toppings were perfectly seasoned, and the large size was more than enough for the two of us (we took half home). I also ordered the Liliko'i Kea Beer, which was a tropical passion fruit, coriander, and grains of paradise beer. Perfect! Another great experience. 100% recommend!
