I've been a long time Wheel & Sprocket customer as long as they've been in existence as a company and have always been pleased with their customer service. My recent experience purchasing an ebike was excellent as usual. Matt, the department manager, was super helpful in finding just the right ebike for me and my particular needs. The wife and I are avid runners but wanted to get a decent bike as part of our workout routine. And, weather is getting nicer so we want to hit the trails with the family in the summer. We decide to stop by the store in Brookfield to pick up our bikes. A young lady assisted us. I asked to look at a size 17 bike. She brought it down from the rack. After sizing me, she recommended a size 14.5" bike. No problem, but, I still wanted to try the 17 to see how it felt. I asked if I could try both. She proceeded to put the 17 back on the rack and said it was not the right size for me. I'm sure she knew more about sizing than me but I thought it was a bit rude to turn down a customer's request. -1 star. Then my wife wanted to try two different bikes to compare the ride. The associate said due to time constraints (she said were closing soon) my wife could only pick one, the one she really wanted to try. It was around 2pm and they close at 4pm. -1 star. We tested our bikes. This was my first time I've been to any Wheel and Sprocket store, so I didn't know this part was coming. We had to sign a waiver and give them our driver's license to test out the bike. I'm not sure why they had to hold on to our driver's license. Not like we were test driving a car. -1 star. The waiver I understand. But I'm still scratching my head with the license thing. I felt like my 14 frame was too small. I couldn't try out the 17 for comparison. And, because my wife couldn't compare her bike to the other bike she liked, we didn't buy our bikes. -1 star. If other local shops don't have the bike you're looking for this place might be worth it just to pick up the bike. But, you might still get a better deal going to a smaller shop. We went to another local shop and I got the bikes I wanted, the sizes we wanted, plus the shop threw in a kick stand (which doesn't come with the bike), water bottle and bottle rack, and they still knocked $80 off msrp. They didn't have to do throw in the extras, but they did. In WS's defense the associate did say they price matched and would give back the difference if we found the same bike for less at another local shop with proof. But seriously, who has time to comparison shop for prices after you already bought the bike? My advice, the smaller LBS we went to had better customer service and they were more personable. WS just seemed like a big box store. The people there know their bikes but they seem arrogant and more about selling a bike then dealing with customers. Maybe it was just the associate that helped us? I don't know. As the saying goes; the first impression is the most important. My impression is I'll never go back to WS. read more

Called in and then stopped by shop. They didn't recheck everything like I asked just addressed one of the issues and gave the bike immediately back to me and brushed off the rest as well as my desire to have the tuneup all rechecked. Will try a different business next time. read more

Purchased 2 Trek bicycles from W&S at their annual bike expo and have always had good service with any adjustments and repairs. Came in for requested bike tune up and was quoted unnecessary repairs per other bike shop in Brookfield. Sorry lost as a customer and would not recommend for repair work. read more

I needed a few small nonstandard items for my biking needs. I stopped in and someone quickly found the items I was looking for, and ordered them. The price was great & I only needed to wait a few days. Another employee also helped me when I needed to make adjustments on my bike, to help decrease it's weight, but not needing to invest in a new bike at that time. Although I log a lot of miles on my bike, I ride for enjoyment. I have found the staff helpful to my needs regardless of my ability or budget. read more

Great place for not only the serious biker, but casual biker like me. I didn't feel intimidated. Instead I felt welcomed. I had received a gift card recently so I took my bike in for a tune up. Within a couple days I had my bike back and it rode like new. I appreciate the knowledgeable staff who made great recommendations without making me feel out of my league. read more

My husband and I got an email about a bike sale and we have been looking for a bike for him for a while now. Great timing! We headed over late on Friday afternoon (July 8) to find a bike. We knew it would cost $800-$1000 for a Trek but he didn't quite know if he wanted more of a road bike or a mountain bike. We wandered the store looking at bikes while two associates (a man and a woman) stood at their registers and never looked our way or spoke to us at all. The store was not busy. Finally, after 20 minutes we left feeling ignored and angry. As we walked by the registers the man half-heartedly popped his head up and asked "are you all set?" Um no. My husband and I were ready to just buy our bikes off of bikesdirect.com because we wanted to make sure that we were staying in our price range. We finally decided to just check out the tent sale for Memorial Day weekend before we pulled the trigger. We met Alex. He was young, savvy, professional and his genuine approach to selling was more than impressive. We told him our price range and we ended up walking out of there on budget with more than we expected (not joking). He never once tried to "upsell" us out of our budget but he was great about helping us fill our needs - road bike, petals, shoes and some other necessary gear. He was knowledgeable and polite. He never made us feel stupid since we were feeling like clueless rookies. We also met Parker who happened to talk to us while Alex arranged our tune-ups with the techs on our new bikes. I was initially hesitant in taking to my bike to a shop as I had done so before in the past and got the usual run around. I took my bike in on a Saturday afternoon and informed Nick of what was going on with my bike (I was having an issue with the rear rotor and caliper not being aligned and was getting a bad squeaking noise) and he said he would recommend Collin to take a look at the bike as he was not too familiar with Hydraulic brakes. I was told that I would receive a phone call from Collin on Monday. Well Monday came and went and no phone call. I tried to call the Monday night (before close) and the phone would just ring and ring and ring! This left a bad taste in my mouth as I had the same issue with another shop and their "customer service skills". If you say you are going to call the customer on a certain day then call them, even if its just to say "Sorry man we didn't get to your bike yet because we are busy" or whatever the excuse. I went on to a local biking Facebook group to vent my frustrations at bike shops in general as they all claim they are very customer service oriented when in fact they are not. I then received a message from Amelia Lukic-Kegel explaining to me why they had not contacted me yet and assured me that they would and to please give them a second chance to redeem themselves. I then received a phone call from Collin and he was very knowledgeable and knew the exact reason why my bike was failing and also took the time to explain to me what it needed to make it better. He informed me to make the bike correct he would have to order some parts and he would try to see if he could get the bike done by the weekend so I could ride. I was then contacted by Collin on Friday of the same week to let me know my bike was done! Something good can come from a bad situation and this shop totally redeemed themselves as Amelia said they would. I am VERY happy with the bike and NO MORE SQUEAKING! I would highly recommend Collin to work on your bike as he is now my go to mechanic. Thanks again for not leaving a bitter taste in my mouth about bike shops in general and addressing my issues. read more

I decided to forgo putting in $600 worth of repairs on my 10 year old Trek Pilot and apply the money to buying a new bike. I had purchased two or three bikes previously from W&S, so I naturally decided to go there again. I started at the Delafield store, but didn't see anything I liked. So I went to the Brookfield store and found a Domane 4.3 that was almost perfect for me. I say "almost perfect" because it seemed a little big for my short legs and longer upper body. However, working with Jamie and John we were able to make adjustments in fitting the bike perfectly for me. I'm extremely happy with the whole experience! Both Jamie and John were awesome and went out of their way to make sure that the bike would work for me and didn't simply pressure me into buying. They did a great job especially in "fitting" the bike for me to make sure it was perfect for my frame, including cutting down the seat stem to accomodate my shorter legs. Bottom line is that I am very happy with my purchase and once again W&S met my expectations - in this case exceeding them! Thank you to Jamie and John for your excellent help and service!!! read more
