This isn't just a place to buy a bicycle, it's an experience. They've renovated a factory and the space it pretty awesome, it's worth a visit even if you're not in the market for a bike. They have accessories as well as a great coffee shop and a comfortable and singularly well apportioned café. Big parking lot (especially for a bicycle store), and it's in Bayview so you can make a whole afternoon (or morning) of it.

This huge Wheel & Sprocket in Bay View just has to be experienced. A former factory, the huge crane still sits as a welcoming centerpiece of this huge beautiful space. I stopped in for a few accessories, and was readily helped, and had a nice chat about the space, too. Bike repair, new bike purchases, every accessory imaginable, as well as a small display of bike art- this place has it all! But wait, there's more! The Joy Ride Cafe inside the store serves up coffee drinks, as well as a small selection of local craft beer. There's a seating area inside, as well as a nice patio. The Wisconsin Bike Fed and Rails to Trails orgs are in the basement, and there's a bike parking and a parking lot in the back. Check out the amazing mural on the Bay Street side, and you can pick up postcards with that very same mural art.

The staff and especially the manager, Kelly, were incredibly helpful and generous with replacing my bike along with the accessories.

I usually go to a different bike shop near me, but due to their limited hours I came to Erik's, and…read moreI'm glad I did! Great service, funny staff, a relatively quick turnaround. I have been having lots of tire issues (I replaced my rear tube 4 times last fall). While I was recently changing my tube (for the fifth time) it popped (surprise surprise), so I gave up and decided to just bring the entire wheel into the shop. The staff at Erik's initially gave me grief about popping my tube (all in good nature), so luckily for me I got to return the sass when they did the exact same thing and popped the tube. Twice! We couldn't really figure out what was wrong (nothing was lodged in the tire itself), so he just replaced the entire thing, tire and all. Fast forward one day, I'm biking home from work and now my front tire pops. I brought the whole bike in this time to have them replace the front one to match the back, and I also decided to have them tune it up. The bike needed a lot of TLC, but Heather and Josh did a really great job keeping me in the loop about what they were doing. Thanks to Tom, Heather, and Josh for all your help!

Came back with kids to pick out bikes and had a decent experience with young female employee. We were told it would take 24 hours to service new bikes, but we should pay first and pick up later. Returned the next day to pick up bikes and "Aaron" was disrespectful and being rude to my wife and children. I addressed this with the manager who simply made excuses for the behavior and said that it's not a store for kids and safety is a concern, but customer service is not. The guy seems mentally disabled so I didn't take the conversation much further. Clear that this business doesn't value customers or long term relationships. We will never shop here again.

I…read morehad been researching the Aventon Level 3 online and was really hoping to be able to pick one up that weekend so I could use this summer, especially since gas prices have gone up and I can commute with it around Bayview to everywhere I need to go. When I walked in Jeremy greeted me and asked if I needed any assistance. I had already saw that they had the Aventon Sorella 3 and the Aventon Level 3 and 4 step-through bikes. So I asked him if the store had any Level 3 step overs and Jeremy said, "yes, we actually have one black one left, want me to bring it up?" I said sure--as that was the exact one and color I wanted. Jeremy brought up the bike and let me test ride it and let me just say that I knew after about 10 minutes that I was going to buy that bike. He let me know that the e-bike needed to get checked before I could pay for it and ride off into the sunset and luckily we had time to explore the store and I was able to take it home about 30 minutes later. Not only did he explain everything about the bike that I needed to know to safely operate it but he also answered all my questions about the tires and things that I never had to deal with on my triathlon bike. I have already ridden it about 15 miles and I cannot believe how much I would love an e-bike! I am so glad they sell Aventon because the closest place was in Chicago and I definitely did not want to drive that far. Thank you so much, Jeremy for the help with my new bike, Storm!
