    Inside. Donut options.

My first time here. Was in the area & craving a donut & trusty yelp lead me here. Food: Dounuts delicious. Got the yeast with chocolate icing & the French cruller. The only thing I didn't like was that the chocolate icing is just sugar, no chocolate & the icing on the cruller were both too sweet. However, I am mostly sugar free on the weekdays so perhaps it's just me. Regardless, I will be back to try another variety without the icing on it. Service: Great. The lady was very sweet & efficient. Ambiance: It's a take out place. It's clean & the displays were great. See pics.

I've had plenty of Wheeling Donuts' donuts over the past two years, and they're really good. They're heavy, thick, over-sized and sugary sweet. They use top notch ingredients, you'll be able to taste the chocolate, the red velvet (taste a bit like chocolate), the blueberry, etc. My favorites are the Old Fashioned, the buttermilk (same as the OF, just a different shape), red velvet, the coconut (not so much), the chocolate Bavarian (the cream filling has a nice consistency). The Old Fashioned and Buttermilk donuts also tend to last longer without getting stale. I cut my donuts into quarters and eat one over the course of four days. These two remain consistently good over that time frame. I haven't seen any information on calories per donut, I'll ask for that when I visit the store.

This is a classic doughnut shop! I have been in search of a place offering the classic style of doughnuts. Nothing extravagant, just great eats! Wheeling has been on my test list for months. I am so glad I tried it. They are made just like the old days. Raised cinnamon rolls, apple fritters with a crusty outside and a buttery interior. Blueberry cake doughnuts packed full of flavor. Ensuring the flavors are there without being overpoweringly sweet. I ate a lot of these doughnuts in the day that I had them. I purchased 8 in total, but if I would have gone with a dozen, I am sure they would all disappear. The service was friendly, quick, and without issue. I look forward to returning.

I've been here many times, and unfortunately it is not my favorite. Unless you are here first thing in the morning getting fresh donuts I would skip this place. The workers and service is a 10/10 but the donuts are ehh from the experiences I have had. I genuinely think this might just be my taste but they feel a little bit too heavy. Definitely worth a try though to see if they are for you!

Absolutely love that the donuts are made fresh in house. Our favorites are always readily available and delicious. They are very friendly and the service is fast. The shop offers a great variety of donuts and donut holes. Very cute store. One of our favorite donut places for sure!

I love being able to support small businesses like this one. The donuts were delicious and I would definitely go back! They had a good variety of cake type donuts and yeast donuts. We were there at 8am on a Sunday morning and did not need to wait in a long line. Was very happy with the variety and taste of donuts! Will return!

When your son don't want you to get donuts for him but wants you to drive him to the store and get it himself... it's clearly a sign that they have very good donuts. I have a sweet tooth and being a good baker as a hobby, I seek out good bakeries. Having to drive up to Wheeling for baseball this winter, thanks to my fellow Yelpers this is one donut bakery you don't want to miss. We been there a few times now and while we have our favorites, they are all really good, meaning soft inside, crisp outside as it's just pulled out of the kitchen, fresh, and taste good. These are simply not dry and do not feel like it's been sitting out there for 24 hours, like some donut places. They bake everything fresh daily, very early morning. People preorder by boxes and love them. Check out the pics I took, we even had a tasting test one visit and it was so fun. We were just so happy! We have some favorites and is hard to deviate to try the others, as there are so many. We'll be back again to try the others We truly love the buttermilk, French cruller, old fashioned, sugar twist donut, cinnamon rolls, chocolate cake. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of them... Enjoy! They take credit card but prefer cash if less than $5.

Something for everyone! Ample parking lot AND a drive thru window! Satisfying portion sizes. The bad: if you snooze, you'll lose on the donut variety, so plan accordingly! I actually got up mid meal to purchase our donuts bc several customers came in between the time we arrived and the time we would've been ready for dessert. You can catch me snoozing at 6am, but not at donut o'clock! The ugly: the cream in the Boston cream donut used to be (atleast a couple years ago, at another location) reminiscent of a true vanilla, pastry cream or custard, but this Boston cream was an IMPOSTER! The cream inside was a slightly greasy, artificial tasting whipped topping that was atrocious. My 7yo rejected the French twist donut she picked bc it was a bit dried out and tasted nutty for some reason. Maybe it was touching other donuts in the process of being made or had some kind of cross contamination. I don't mind nuts, but the staling texture was off putting. This visit didn't live up to the Niles location, and can't wait until the little Glenview shop reopens.

Stop going to the chain coffee joints and try a small place that needs us. I preordered a little leas than $100 worth of cakes, pies, and pastries so I grabbed some of the cookies to make it $100. The butter cookies are $33 a lb. Ouch! As soon as you take a bite they fall apart and crumble everywhere. The kids didn't like the taste and didn't eat any of them, a waste of $12. No prices anywhere other than the boxed goods or coffee signs. 4% fee for using a credit card which I get, but have it posted better. Couple small signs I caught over by the fresh stuff saying price tags reflect cash price, but yet didn't see prices anywhere other than on shelves by boxed stuff. Have prices posted. French silk pie was very thick and not very chocolaty. No one really cared for it, def would not get again. I looked back at receipt after I left and see a random charge for "open retail" for $3.12, no clue what that is. So was over charged for something I didn't get.

Since our main purpose of the visit was for donuts, we went ahead and orderes half dozen "premium" donuts. Apparently, you need to order ahead if you want to have a good mix of a dozen, which we didn't know. So we ended up picking from the available ones. They were still a good variety.
