Every year over 800 students flood the gates of the LLNL and the Sandia Laboratory to participate in internships. I have hosted interns twice and I currently am hosting a student from Vietnam who is attending Las Positas for a semester. Is it too much to ask for a bus or transit system that would give these students some sort of freedom. My house is located three miles from the lab, but it takes almost two hours and a tour of all of Livermore on the Wheels Bus System to get to the lab. Livermore's population is close to 80,000. Very noisy ride. Should muffle the loud engine and provide more sound absorbtion in the engine compartment and inside the cabin. If we can't have a phone conversation, your service is failing. The drivers sometimes drive as if they're driving farm equipment, not a public transportation vehicle. Ease off the brakes and throttle. If we can't read a book, you're not serving us. You are missing many shelters from the wind at the stops. And you're missing even more electronic information that says when the next bus arrives and when they are present, they often don't tell the information they were intended to convey. Disaster. The Drivers are normally GREAT the 10R drivers are the ones I appreciate the most but today my Driver for the 10R was new and late but that's not the problem. I expected a bus to come to Charlotte way and East avenue at 6:09am tuesday 18th of march. One went in the opposite direction, marque stated 2 minutes till arrivial. The bus never came. Another bus went in that direction, towards LLLabs at 6:17. That bus then showed up at 6:23. When this happens it makes me miss my bart connections and I end up being late for work. read more

I had just finished up with work, it was 6:45 and I wasn't sure if I would make the bus as it is scheduled to leave the nearest major stop at 6:40. The big decision was, do I wait nearly an hour for the next or call a taxi? The cab could get me home quick and my aching feet would be glad for the rest after almost 9 hours on the clock.... Tho take the bus, I thought, and I'll keep 8 extra dollars in my pocket. True, it's not a fortune but I'm on a budget and every penny I save is a penny I can put back into my business. So being the level headed, practical entrepreneur I am I decided to wait... I headed to the bus stop at half seven and waited in the cold for over twenty minutes only to have your driver coast by as I stood half in the street waving my arms and screaming like a crazy person. Your constant rescheduling of routes is ridiculous and even when a bus WILL get me where I need to go you can't even be bothered to stop and pick me up! I ride 10R and transfer to 14. Every single morning 10R is late 10-15 min which cause to miss my connection most of the times!!! As the next 14 is scheduled only one hour later, I have to take Uber to continue my trip. With the proposed fare increase for January, I think they should revise the schedules! read more

I rarely bother to check the schedule before walking to the bus stop because the buses rarely show up on time, or even close to the scheduled time. The bus has also passed right by me on occasion without stopping. In some places and times in Livermore, the wait time for a bus is almost one hour. Many stops are missing benches and even street lights. The Wheels transportation system is the reason I'm looking for employment closer to a Bart station. read more

Literally RARELY on time. Don't trust the schedule or phone apps. They show up when they show up.

This business is so ghetto and unsanitary. And some of the drivers make me nauseous the way they lack smoothness in driving and yes I threw up coming off the bus dam near ready to kiss the ground because of how rough the ride was. There's no safety measures on the bus it's no windows so if someone is coughing their lungs away we all getting it. Some of the buses smell like pee. A driver told me that they don't even spray Lysol and the floors get cleaned with dirty mop water. It makes sense why they don't have enough drivers and hire anyone and why there's a note saying the bus will take twice as long to arrive because no one wanna work for a dirty ass bus company who underpays and gives excessive workloads to people who they don't give safety regulations. Because if they did they would have masks on deck for people who forgot one (because it's a small ass space with hella people, and they don't even make people social distance which is stupid. This transit agency is by far the worse I've ever ridden on. Not only are the majority of the drivers rude, but they rarely if ever are on time. You can call their customer service line until you're blue in the face and it makes no difference. The management of this organization just doesn't seem to care. I went to a town hall last year before they changed the 10R schedule and made a point about commenting on their inability to stick to a schedule and their representative actually had the nerve to say well if the bus is late at least we'll be running every 15 minutes! I've tolerated using this system for the past 6 years, but after being yelled at today by a driver for complaining that she's been late two times this week, I'm buying a car. read more

I like mass transit but it is only as reliable as its schedule. In my experience the buses are typically 10 minutes late from their scheduled times even the Rapid buses. So if you are planning on going to BART via Wheels plan on missing your initial BART train for the subsequent train after. As a transplant from NYC reliability of a transit agency is its adherence to schedule. read more

to the bus driver FLYING through our neighborhood at 330 dropping children off...let's have a little driving lesson: residential areas are 25 MPH...now if you're driving a BUS me thinks 20 is more appropriate NOT OVER 35!! You WILL hit someone driving like that...you nearly hit me flying through the intersection...you didn't even look. Shame on you. Wheels...you need to train your people better. read more

I ride the 15 and 10R every day. There are very few drivers who actually arrive on time. The 15 is usually 5-10 minutes late. However, there is one driver who is always, without fail, 15-20 minutes late. I don't get it, even without any traffic whatsoever, if the 15 bus is more than 10-15 minutes late, I know exactly which driver is going to be behind the wheel. This means I then miss the connecting 10R and on weekends that means I have to wait another 30. Then there are the 10R drivers who think a schedule is just a mere suggestion. They leave the transit center whenever they feel like it. It doesn't matter if they are already late, once they arrive at the transit center, they take a break. I am far from the only person who notices this. Just please teach these drivers to stick to the schedule and someone get that 15 route driver off the road. read more

Hey guys. When your 'Rapid' bus service has a poster at the bus stop that says: "What is your schedule on weekends or holidays?" and the answer is "The Rapid runs Monday-Friday only" then it's pretty safe to assume that the bus WILL run on a holiday as long as it's not on a Saturday or Sunday. But no. Apparently the Rapid bus line does not run on holidays at all. Would it have been that difficult to put the above answer as "The rapid runs Monday-Friday only and does not run on holidays"? I am sure you guys spent a TON of money on this bus service but you couldn't be bothered to do some simple sanity checks on something as important as the bus schedules? Even logging onto the website and looking at the Rapid schedule there, it only says "Monday through Friday" and says ZERO about holidays. Get your act together. read more

Our first experience was awful. They had both wrong date and the wrong location. Replay of the recorded message proved it. Missed a doctor's appt as a result -- have to pay office missed appt fee and can't get another appt for two weeks. read more

I take the very first bus in the morning going from East Pleasanton/Dublin Bart Station to Livermore and the 2 regular drivers for the route are always on time and they are very nice and polite. I give them 5 stars. read more

These buses are consistently late. The cost of tickets is exorbitant to say the least. Why oh why doesn't this PUBLIC school district provide free transportation? It has to be illegal but all the residents around here are fine with it. I'm not! The alternative to driving is to use the crappy, poor service provided by late city buses. Not worth it! My kid could probably walk the 2.5 miles faster than the bus would ever arrive. Isn't it amazing how the quality of service goes down the more companies are unionized? If a bus company is going to provide a "service" to students by providing school bus routes, be a little more consistent! Maybe show up once in a while within the same hour of arrival.
