I bought a Groupon which was $20 for an all day pass with gear for two people. It was my first time indoor rock climbing and we were there for over four hours! It was pretty fun. The introductory class took about thirty minutes. There were only two employees working at the time but they were friendly and helpful. I had no problem doing the Groupon with them. Def wear workout clothes or something comfortable because you will get hot and sweaty climbing! They offered a a forty-five minute to an hour free class of belaying but my boyfriend and I declined at first. There's about eight to ten ropes that you can climb on which doesn't require belaying anyone. We realized after we did all the ones we could do that there were many more we could climb if we did the belaying class. So we told the employee we were interested and he rounded up a couple of other people to do the class with us. After the introduction talk through about belaying, we are then separated with our partners and it's a one on one after that. The instructor worked with me until I felt confident and I didn't feel rushed at all. I wasn't quite getting it at first but he went over it with me many times and didn't make me feel bad. The staff really cares about safety and that's super important! They offer memberships with a year contract too. Also, if you check in and like them on Facebook you can get a free bottle of water. If you're looking for something different and fun to do, definitely come here! It was fun and I will be coming back!

I like that they offer both top rope climbing and bouldering, as well as lead climbing which I have not done.

The place is a nice size and has lots of areas for different kid ages and different activities. they have a cool little zip line above for the kiddos. There is a weight limit for that one. For food we had wings and pizza. It was surprisingly good! lol I liked the wings. There is a little food counter you can order food from and puck it up. There are seats and tables all around. Overall, they seem to cover everything for a gathering/party/big groups. My only issue is the people that are to greet you in front when you walk in. If it's your first time, you should be provided with all the info and be directed, but they were too quiet and didn't provide any info. We almost bought an unneeded wristband because we weren't provided with the basic information needed. ask those that come in if it's their first time and then guide them.

I was genuinely excited to try this gym and see what their classes were like--but then I heard…read moretheir "trial" policy: a paid day pass before committing to a monthly membership. Honestly, that's bad business practice. You're basically asking people to pay $30 upfront, risking them deciding not to stay--and potentially losing out on a full monthly membership. It's a tiny fee for them, but it's a huge turn-off for anyone genuinely interested. If a business can't trust people enough to offer a real trial experience, I'm not willing to hand over my money. There are plenty of gyms that actually want to earn your membership, not scare it away. No thanks.

I like that there is an on-site coffee shop and food truck, and plenty of outdoor space to relax, in addition to additional gym spaces upstairs and downstairs. The front desk staff always seems very helpful -- if you're new to the gym, they'll happily give you a tour, and the introduction to climbing with a harness was very helpful. The gym has a variety of self-belay climbs that you can do, which is what we've stuck to so far. I do find the animal-themed ratings a little difficult to understand. Also, I would say most of the climbs--even the "sloth" rated ones--are a little more challenging that I'm used to (both for belay and bouldering). For our birthday party, they actually reserved the entire kids' room just for our party, which I thought was a fantastic deal. The kids' room is definitely not just for beginners, either. They patiently gave the group a lesson, and we had a dedicated guide for our entire party (he even gave latecomers their own lessons). The kids got to try pretty much all of the climbs, which took most of the 2 hours, before they got tired of the room and wanted to venture into the larger gym space. We were able to bring our own decorations, food, and beverages, and they supplied all the plates, forks, and tablecloths. Memberships and single day passes are a little on the pricey side, so I'm not sure how often we'll come back, but it is a really nice space, and I'm happy to have it available in our community.

Since I'm also afraid of heights, ropes courses are a good way to get a dose of this. The Georgetown Challenge Course is designed for team-building exercises, so you can't just go by yourself and have fun, unfortunately. But it's a great place to go for corporate, club or team events. I went in February with about 15 people from Hill Country Outdoors, an outdoors, sports and social club. We started the morning doing some silly but surprisingly fun games on the ground. Then, we got to the good stuff. There's a large number of activities that you can do here, from climbing up a pole to crossing high wires or logs... there's actually more than you can do in a day (you talk over the activities when you book, but can change them during the day). All are safe, as you are belayed, but also scary, since they're up high. I think I had fun, as I'd go back, but whenever I do these things I'm always asking myself why I thought it was a good idea, it's never fun until it's over. The downside to this place is that you are actively belayed, it's not like the Cypress Canopy challenge course where you're always hooked in and can do stuff yourself. That's also a plus if you're actually doing a team-building exercise, of course. None of the activities require you to be in super shape... if you can climb a ladder, you can do pretty much anything here. Though you may not really want to ;) If you're looking for something different to do, get a group together and try this place!
