OK, a show of hands: Who thinks it sounds like fun to get a tooth pulled? Yeah, I didn't think so…read moreeither. When I showed up at Dr. Julius Hyatt's office, I was nervous. I had to have 2(!) teeth pulled, after a root canal (performed at a different office) revealed that the tooth, and the wisdom tooth behind it, could not be saved. When Dr. Hyatt entered the room, I couldn't help but try to crack some (nervous) jokes. I soon found him to be very empathetic to my situation. He genuinely seemed to care, and he tried to calm my fears. As work progressed, he handled the extractions with professionalism and skill. Before I knew it, it was all over, literally only taking minutes. If you find yourself in this same situation, and you're fearful that it's going to be painful, let me tell you that it's really not that bad. Thank you, Dr. Hyatt, for a great job!! Astonishing. He used very cool technology. He explained the processes ahead of time and during the procedures and was kind and attentive. Called to check in both evenings after. I was given excellent discharge care instructions. I would definitely recommend him. I was referred by my dentist. The assistants who worked with Dr. Hyatt were also terrific--friendly, helpful, attentive, and clearly knowledgeable. On the other hand, Dr. Hyatt's front desk staff could do better. On my first visit, I was seen more than 60 minutes after my appt. time. Dr. Hyatt apologized, said he got tied up with a difficult case. It's oral surgery--that happens and is understandable. What is not at all understandable is that the people at the front desk can't be bothered to say anything. After waiting 40 minutes, I asked when I would be seen and was just told "He's running late." There is no excuse for no communication, especially when there are 5-6 staff people. It sets things off on a very wrong foot--I felt disrespected. It all matters.

Having severe dental anxiety and finding out you need to have your wisdom teeth out is never fun. I did have to schedule my appointment 5 separate times to get my teeth out. I had to cancel the first 4 because I was too afraid but the staff was very understanding each time and gave me the same support and took their time with me each time I came in. Everyone was kind and well informed. I felt like a priority and was treated like one. I ended up getting my teeth out on my 5th appointment and had a great experience. Dr Schwartz was the doctor that took out all 4 of my teeth. Natasha in post op was very kind and took fantastic care of me. Two days later I woke up in excruciating pain as my body was far more sensitive than usual in recovery. I called multiple times to ask questions and was helped promptly each time. That same day I was fit in for an appointment an hour after my call. One of the doctors even offered me a personal unopened water bottle as I was sensitive to tap water. I was given more pain medication which helped but made me sick. I called and was immediately given something to help with my nausea. The doctors and nurses at this practice really care about their patients and making sure they have the best experience possible when dealing with something that nobody really wants to deal with. I would 100% go here if I had to do it all over again. I was welcomed and informed and encouraged to call even if it was a slight concern, they wanted to make sure everything was okay. If you are someone with severe dental anxiety, this is the place to go. They can accommodate you and make this the experience that gets rid of the anxiety associated with dentists or surgery in general.

Some may call it a small job but to me it was huge. I had my work done by a maxillofacial, oral surgeon by the name of Bernard Ian Krupp,DDS at the Krupp Center. I must say walking in I was fine and they made me feel very secure and trusting in them. However, once I sat in the chair the gitters started to kick in; the nurse knew it when I asked to use the bathroom. She said "hurry back and don't run out on us". ahhahahaahhahaha! It was so ironic because that is exactly what I was thinking almost like she was reading my mind. Just as well I know I wasnt the only one who has been like this. After the restroom i sat back down nervouslly. Once she place the mask on my face for sedation, I started to become more relaxed of coarse. Almost like I had a couple shots of vodka, lol. Oddly enough I never felt like I went to sleep, when I woke up I said to the surgeon "when am I suppose to fall asleep"? He started laughin and says, "were done Mr. Stephens". Well once it was over I felt so relieved that it was done and the process was successful. I have been following all the rules that the surgeon have set for me and the healing is coming along very well. Oddly, I have not had any swelling, which may be due to the amount of ice I have had on my face. Secondly, I have codeine, amoxicillin and ibuprofen that I have been taken. Ironically, with all these medications I'm taking I still feel normal; even after the surgery I was walking and talking regular. I just would like to say the Krupp Center is highly recommended not just by me but from other reviews. The dentist I visited prior to the Krupp Center informed me that they would have to break my jaw bone to remove the teeth because of how impacted it was (they were literally facing horizontal). The Krupp Center didnt take more than 30mins for the surgery and they didnt have to break my jaw bone. So if you or anyone you know needs to have their wisdom teeth removed inform them to take a look at the Krupp Center.

Never once has anyone in the practice ever been nearly on time for my appointment I've had to wait from a half an hour to over an hour and a half. The most recent experience, however, was probably the worst. I was diagnosed with COVID-19 on October 13. Baltimore County gave me my all clear to end quarantine on October 23. I made my appointment to have a cracked molar removed with full disclosure of my satisfactory completing quarantine. After waiting approximately 15 minutes a office personnel came out to tell me they wanted a full 14 days post exposure before I would be treated. I told them that although this was not required underCDC Baltimore county guidelines, I would agree to a return visit. The only availability in a reasonable period of time, and the pain was increasing, was on Wednesday with the newest staff member Amanda forest. Again, we travel to Hunt Valley Maryland. The second trip, as was the first, was that great inconvenience due to my wife's babysitting for A grandchild, but the tooth needed to be extracted. 45 minutes after arrival, and the only patient in the office, I was ushered into a room where approximately 10 minutes later Dr. forest arrived and advised that she would not perform the necessary extraction. Student care about CDC guidelines, she did not feel comfortable on behalf of her staff. Let's say for the sake of argument that the refusal to treat me on both Monday and Wednesday was correct, the arrogance is rescheduling me even though if the staff had looked at my intake the dentist should've been aware that she wasn't going to treat me well before I came to the office. Lengthy delays to be seen are never welcome, And inconvenience and downright annoying But apparently this dental group doesn't care about the patient experience. Schedule as many people as you can even if they all have to wait for their appointments so they can keep the cash register brimming. Arrogance and condescension are the only qualities this practice has an abundance. As I was leaving, Dr. far as brightly said, "but the good news is we won't be charging you for this visit." That's chutzpah. I should bill them for my waste of time. Two trips to Hunt Valley. Over an hour waiting in twice refuse service, the second time being inexcusable.
