Coffee is amazing! If you want to wait 15 minutes in the drive thru its definitely worth it! There is always a line to get coffee. The ladies are very friendly too! The gals at Whidbey coffee are crazy awesome....They have always treated my family and I well....We knit here weekly and they are always so accommodating. They remember what drink I get.. They have more than soy options for the vegan who does not want to consume a bunch of soy..They carry Almond milk so that is a MAJOR plus!... Plus the awesome vegan cookies!The place is cozy and warm feeling , a nice get away when us moms need to do that! A nice place to read as the music is usually on a very low/moderate noise level. I have had the hardest time transitioning to living on this Island and this place is one of the only places that has made my stay on Whidbey a comfortable one. read more

I was visiting my friend in oak harbor and she took me to this coffee place. The hot mocha I got was good, I also got a cookie called "royal" it was very hard. I really didn't like it. The cashier described it has chocolate, macadamia and coconut; which sounded tasty, but it was so hard to bite into. Would not get any of their cookies. read more

This is my favorite Oak Harbor coffee shop! The baristas are super friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. I love how warm and inviting the shop is! There's a big fireplace to cozy up next to whether you're reading or on your computer. There's free wifi, ample seating, comfortable seating (couches), and a room for group get togethers. You won't find the commercialized, sterile environment that some coffee shops tend to have. The environment and ambience of Whidbey Coffee is warm, friendly, and comfortable. This is such a cute place... the first time i walked in to what used to be a jewelery store, i had a huge smile on my face. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, great display of foods & baked goods are baked fresh daily, coffee's are pretty yummy, my favorite is the chai latte which is okay...i usually order it with soy milk and am not sure they always put soy or just water or a little of both. This is a must visit coffee shop when you come to Whidbey Island! I have been there many times and the sandwiches are yummy, as are the pastries. I order a non-fat mocha with whip cream, and they are much better than Starbucks. Service is Always friendly! My husband and I love Whidbey coffee!! We tried it for the first time in Burlington because it was the closest drive-thru coffee shop to our shopping. Ever since then, we've been only going there, and completely cut out Starbucks. Whidbey coffee tastes fresh, not overly sweet like Starbucks, and is a great price! We love to start our mornings with breve's! We also just found out that we could add any flavor we want to our coffee! :) we get coconut breves as well as pumpkin spice breves! Amazing! I was a die hard Starbucks girl until we came to Oak Harbor. You can't beat this place. After a day of shopping I decided to take my sister to have a peppermint mocha here at Whidbey coffee. I'm not a fan of the coffee but I figured with the chocolate and peppermint I would be okay. Well, it seems every time I walk in this place the hired help always looks tired and pissed for what ever reason ( Lord knows...). So we placed an order for some food, and drinks and sat down. service was good and the girl who actually brought the order smiled. The food was nothing you cannot get anywhere else, pre made same heated up... but what pissed me off.... the freaking drink! After two or three sips I was drinking hot chocolate. This review is to sing the praises of one particular barista or bro-ista named Morgan at the hwy 20 cafe--he ALWAYS makes the best drinks. Ordered an "irish cream" latte here today. Totally disappointed. I realized Im always disappointed after a visit here. On the one hand, I always go here because I want to support this local business. On the other hand, their drinks arent that great.They make good fruity/milkshakey drinks like the frozen mochas, but their lattes and cappuccinos arent exciting. The flavor of the burnt coffee really comes out in all their drinks. Their taste is like cheap coffee you would get a greasy diner or gas station. Dish waster is the best adjective.
