I recently visited Vancouver with family and wanted to avoid the hassle and potential high costs…read morewith international plan with ATT so I decided to look into renting portable WIFI hotspots. Since I am a techie myself I researched many different companies offering this service. I ended up with WIFICube because it was the easiest to deal with in terms of being able to pick up and drop off directly at the Vancouver airport with a kiosk versus dealing with paying for shipping and waiting for the device to arrive at our residence prior to the trip and then mailing it back after the trip. The whole process was pretty painless, except for this. I purchased the Canada PLUS plan for unlimited data for 6 days. When I got the hotspot device from the airport, I noticed that it shows 10GB limit and was on ROGERS network. I figured maybe the limit is a soft limit, and once we have reached the 10GB it might throttle our speed down to a slower speed or something. I read the disclosure about data limits and no where did it indicate a CAP or limit for data usage, but 4 days into my trip we had hit 10GB/10GB and that's where the problem hit. The connection stopped working altogether. The hotspot itself still on and working, our devices still connect to it via WIFI, but the Internet connection from the hotspot to ROGERS stopped completely. I finally drove by a Starbucks so that I can email the WIFICube support about the problem. Never got a reply while we were still in Vancouver. That was a week ago, still not a peep from the company about my question to them why it was NOT UNLIMITED as advertised. Hence this bad review ... if you don't expect to hit the 10GB limit with the Unlimited Plan, it will be fine for you, but otherwise, prepare for the worst. Very disappointed about their false advertising.

I'll change the rating if they reply back and solve the problem. ------- Update: DAVID was able to come all the way to DT and help to reset the device! I really appreciate the help. I would suggest you guys to have some kind of instant message platform for customer service. Customers would get a much faster support. Thanks to David again!

I had been a customer of Whidbey Telecom for 6 years. I was getting terrible del speeds for…read moreinsanely expensive cost. I inquired about fiber and I would have had to pay 2k just for the hookup. I finally switched to Xfinity for 10 times the speed and half of the cost and a much more reliable product. I go on Whidbey Telecoms portal which I have to verify its me with a password, follow the instructions and cancel my service. You would think that would be a basic task to end a mtm agreement. They say they thought maybe it was not really me and called to verify but they dont have id on their number so it shows as spam and if they called I never heard from them. I was billed over 2 months of additional service with no other explanation. I talked with multiple agents and they argued with me about how I didnt read the "small print" This is the kicker. Not once in all the time that I talked with a rep from Whidbey Telecom did anyone try to retain me as a customer. No questions about what could they do to improve. It costs a company so much more to aquifer new customers as it does to retain current customers. I would have stayed if they would have credited me the amount that they charged me after I quit and worked with me on getting fiber. Just a terrible disregard of customer service. While on the last call with the manager she disconnected the call and I never heard back. I have been calling for two weeks and am #1 in the Q and they won't answer my calls. I will make sure to tell everyone I know to leave this company before they rip you and charge you for services that were not provided

Then we get our first bill and there's another connection charge and $90 bill. Call Koodo and they had no record, they had to literally CALL THE STORE themselves to see what's up. Turns out the $56 we paid was a STORE charge we never would have had if we'd gone straight to a Koodo store. Koodo didn't even know about it. We asked the Koodo girl "This seems like a hidden second connection fee, does it not?" and she had no alternative but to sheepishly agree. This was NEVER explained at all, Danny is a fast talking con artist liar who would be better suited as a used car salesman. Koodo themselves seem okay, but this OC store should be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS! It will literally cost you $56 more than just going to a Koodo store. FOR THEM TO INSERT YOUR SIM CARD. Slimy.
