Botanica in Newnan is seriously impressive. The food is fresh, flavorful, and just flat-out good. My kid doesn't particularly like wings, but he demolished their lemon pepper wings with fries, especially the fries after some of the lemon pepper touched them. The drinks are pretty good too and match the vibe perfectly. Great atmosphere, and food that keeps you coming back. Easily one of the best spots in Newnan. read more

Yes it's halfway to Peachtree city, and maybe that's the reason it's got more. What? I live in Newnan. I love Newnan. But I think most of the restaurants in Newnan are tired and stale. Notice I said most. Absent are the four most recent openings and remodeling. Tonight was simple. Starting with margaritas and Mojitos served stellar glassware. Mojito lovers know there's good Mojitos and bad Mojitos. These are good, more than good. Brussel sprout appetizer, unique to this restaurant, and not overbearingly drenched balsamic vinegar. The shrimp taco was delightfully crafted. Delicious shrimp a wonderful sauce around it. Garnished beautifully with pickled onions and a slice of ripe avocado. Decorated with little bit of sour cream, beautiful. The sauce was creamy and had a heat that was subtle but very present. Slightly smoky. It seems the chips and salsa are required. Beautiful restaurant but food doesn't match decor. Friday lunch with husband.. 1st clue only 4 people there at 12:15. Chips ok & saldip 3 out of a 10, queso dip - 6 ( lumpy, cold not dipable at All!) Texas margarita with 1800 watered down & it wasn't the ice cause there wasn't much. Chicken fajitas were well... burned on a cast iron skillet chicken was very tough all with a burned char taste. Black beans were unrecognizable & rice cold with NO taste. Husband had lunch chicken enchiladas. You could ditto my dish above. Cold & lumpy cheese!!! Service was poor to be kind. When we asked for a receipt manager looked like we were from another planet. He said " he would have to add paper roll to the printer" we waited!!! Went for lunch today for the first time. 11:45. Only 2 other tables had customers. Greeted promptly, very friendly, The usual chips and salsa provided but, chips were very good, very thin, tasted fresh. I had the tilapia grilled tacos. Excellent! My wife had the shrimp tacos, wrapped not so much like a taco. Very good also. Waitress was always attentive and refilled drinks when we were ready. It is pricey. around 16 per person but if the food quality is good, I don't mind. read more

Ohhh boy, Botanico is a BIG yes from this tiny foodie! I went with my roommates, and we sat outside where there were sooo many pretty flowers--I tried to grab some, but Roommate 1 said "No no!" (I tried anyway... heehee). Best part? There was space for me to get my energy out! Now let's talk food. I got truffle fries--crispy, yummy, MINE. Mama had chicharron tacos with homemade tortillas (fancy!) and Daddy had duck mole enchiladas. I snuck a bite... WOW. My taste buds did a happy dance! My mom, my son and I went to Botanico on New Years Day. Most small owned restaurants were closed so we decided to take the chance on some place new. That was a mistake. We ordered the short rib empanadas and the chicken quesadilla with fries. Everything that had been fried tasted like old fryer oil. The food got to the table before the drinks, as our server was responsible for pouring and mixing our margaritas. When the drinks finally got to the table, we couldnt take more than 1 sip. It tasted like lighter fluid, probably because a server isn't trained to bartend and that shouldn't be expected of them. While we were looking around to see if our drinks were coming (the non alcoholic drinks sat on a tray on the bar while the server tried his best to make 2 margaritas) we noticed that the rest of the staff was huddled at a table talking to each other. We were the only guests in the restaurant. When we tried to continue the meal, we found that nothing on the table tasted good and the drinks were so bad that we finally tried to get the attention of a staff member. The manager noticed us and came over to see what we needed. I have worked in restaurants for 15 years and have never had such a terrible/awkward response from management. We explained that the fryer oil tasted old and he looked like he had no idea what I was talking about. With my industry knowledge, I know that fry oil needs to be changed AT LEAST once per week and when I explained that, he still looked confused. After we asked to have the quesadilla and fries taken off the bill, the manager inspected it silently for a minute before he conceded and said "I can see you didn't take any bites out of this so I'll take it off the check." We had shared 1 empanada because we were so hungry and I knew he wouldn't have taken that off so I didn't ask. When he presented us with the check after the quesadilla was taken off, the total was $44. My mom noticed that the margaritas that we had taken 1 sip of were $12 a piece so she spoke up and said "we really shouldn't have to pay for these, we couldn't drink them..." to which the manager responded "well I could discount them but I won't remove them from the check." She and I split the remainder of the check and we each paid $16. Thinking about this today is enraging. We didn't enjoy a single part of this experience. It felt like the twilight zone where everyone was smiling but doing a HORRIBLE job. With my experience, I cannot understand how we weren't taken care of differently as the only table there. The manager had an opportunity to elevate the whole experience and instead he charged us for food and drinks that we didn't enjoy OR consume and sent us on our way with a bad taste in our mouth for the whole restaurant. The whole vibe is off and you feel it when you walk in....Curious Kitchen has the same thing going on. Wish these concepts lived up to what they could be but I won't be going back to any of this owner's concepts as obviously they don't train their staff to appreciate their customers. read more

We decided to try this place located just off Hwy 34 today as we'd heard from others that it is good. We were seated outside, as requested, under their outdoor patio. The atmosphere was very nice on a beautiful (but pollen-filled) day. We decided to only get the cheese dip as an appetizer and was brought some chips and salsa. For our main course, both of us got the steak fajita tacos, which come with beans and rice. This is not your typical Mexican restaurant, I'd probably call it more elevated Mexican food. The food was very delicious and the two taco serving portion was more than filling. I could have ate another bowl of the beans along with the scoop of rice. The entire meal was really good and the service was as well. We can't wait to share this place with family and friends. read more

My husband and I met here for an early lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. He had the braised short rib and I selected the duck enchiladas. Both were fantastic! Chips and salsa were fresh and yummy! The menu prices seemed a little high for lunch, but the portions were plentiful and the food was fresh so it made more sense once we received our food. I have no idea what Botanico is trying to be. After multiple recommendations, we finally went, expecting--I don't know what, exactly, but something more cohesive. The space itself has promise: a cavernous room with high ceilings, dimly lit just enough to suggest ambiance. A little too much neon, but nothing egregious. The music was tolerable--Hall & Oates being the only artist I remember, which tells you something. Then I noticed the giant flat-screen TVs above the bar, all tuned to sports. Was this a restaurant? A sports bar? A fever dream of someone who thought you could be both? The menu leaned vaguely Mexican but refused to commit, with prices that suggested an ambitious cocaine habit. Dishes ranged from $22 to $130, the high end being a tomahawk steak, because nothing says "authentic" like a giant slab of meat meant to impress someone's father-in-law. And then the fire eater came out. Every 20 minutes. Unexpected? Sure. Classy? No. It was Cirque du Soleil by way of a mid-range casino. The maître d' was young, friendly, and utterly lost. Our waiter had the heavy-lidded look of someone who had just celebrated the decriminalization of marijuana. He stopped refilling our waters halfway through, missed orders, and periodically disappeared, possibly to commune with the fire eater. The water glasses were plastic Coca-Cola cups--likely acquired from a shuttered Pizza Hut. At these prices, you have to be serious. Botanico isn't serious. read more

Tonight was our second visit to Botanico, the first being about two months ago. I was blown away the first time but tonight was even better. We dined on the patio which was beautiful and comfortable even with rain and gusty winds. Our waiter Adrian was so helpful. He recommended the braised short ribs for my husband who can't eat spicy foods and it was tender and delicious with a slightly sweet sauce. I got the duck enchiladas with mole and they also were so unique and delicious. We chatted with Adrian, the bar tender, and the bus boy (who was actually a very nice lady) and everyone went out of their way to be friendly, helpful and make sure we had a pleasant experience. Everything about this restaurant is a step above the norm. Highly recommended! read more

Food was good, drinks were good, was slow to get waited on but I think that is normal since everyone seems to be in training. Server was nice just learning. They had a Saxaphone player there which is a great idea however we could not carry on a conversation due to how loud he was playing. We went there today for dinner with a very large group (-40). The restaurant was "very aware" of the number attending and had plenty of advance notice. We arrived early, around 5:40. The service was EXTREMELY SLOW, as it appeared they didn't add any extra servers to accommodate the large number of guests. We asked several times for drinks. Our dinner finally came out to our table......2 HOURS after sitting down. At that time, we immediately asked for boxes, as we had enough of their service. We went home, reheated and ate the dinner around 9 PM. It did taste pretty good, but was not worth the time it took to get dinner. Needless to say, we were disappointed and will not be returning in the future. Their management was at fault and should have added additional servers to accommodate the number of guests. read more

I love what this new restaurant is doing by bringing a new and genuine vibe to the Southside restaurant scene. It's clear that they care about providing a unique experience with a warm and welcoming vibe. The food is great and reasonably priced. Several times a week they offer live entertainment, which is uncommon on the Southside today. Like all new restaurants today they are going through the launch phase which present challenges with staffing when they get hit with a rush. Be patient and talk to the management. They care and will do everything they can to please you. Hard to ask for anything more. We'll be back!! read more

They are so great here! The atmosphere the sweetness of the servers. It makes all of it 100% worth it. They're reasonably priced and they typically have some kind of entertainment. This was my 2nd visit, my wife's first. When I came for lunch a few weeks ago it was newly opened and I sat at the bar in the middle of the afternoon. Not busy at all and I had good service from the bartender and the host checked on me multiple times when she'd left the bar for a few minutes. I enjoyed my tacos. So I brought my wife for dinner last night. That was a mistake. It was a busy Saturday night and we waited 25 minutes for a table, which we'd expected and were told upon arrival. The host, while friendly, seemed to be distracted as he ran around the restaurant. When we were seated we were brought a basket of chips and salsa with the comment that 'your server will be right over'. We enjoyed the chips and salsa, but we had no server, didn't know who our server was supposed to be, and they all avoided eye contact. Short of tackling someone as they walked by it became obvious no one was going to pay attention to us. After 20 minutes of waiting we left. Nice looking restaurant with prices to match, but no one is managing the restaurant. read more
