DO NOT COME HERE, ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE . I would NEVER RECOMMEND this place to anyone. The owner, Benny, is unbelievably rude and dismissive. When I walked in, he barely acknowledged me and said, "What do you want?" while carrying on a casual conversation with another customer, as if I was interrupting him. I brought my car in because suddenly every light and sensor on my dashboard went off -- this happened just two weeks after they had supposedly fixed it. Benny went outside to "check" it, came back in, and told me it was "a code" before resetting it. No explanation of what the code meant, no effort to clarify anything. When I asked him to explain further, he got visibly annoyed and refused to answer my questions. He told me my car was "safe to drive" and that he couldn't help me anymore because he needed to check someone's emissions. I went back to my car and tried to drive off -- and it wouldn't move at all. The engine was on, but the car literally wouldn't go anywhere. So not only was I dismissed and treated terribly, but I was told my car was safe to drive when it was completely undrivable. I ended up having to tow my car to a more reliable mechanic who actually values their customers and knows how to communicate. Bottom line: TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, ZERO PROFESSIONALISM, and DANGEROUS MISINFORMATION. Do yourself a favor and NEVER GO HERE! read more

I've been going to Benny for years for all repairs to my vehicles in 2023 I took my car for a oil change his mechanic stripped the oil pan nutI did not know until I saw oil spots on my driveway, I took my car back to find out what was going on, and I could hear Benny screaming at his mechanic telling him that he stripped the nut, and if it could not be replaced that it was gonna come out of his pocket they did what they did when I took my car. It was dripping again like a week later I took it back to Benny, and he told me that it was fixed when I left his shop now he wants to charge me to put a brand new oil pan I told him that his mechanic has stripped the nut and that it was something his mechanic did wrong. They did not own up to the problem that they cost after I argue with him he told me I could take my car somewhere else and get it done. I took my car to Firestone and was charged almost $700 to get this job done so i stop dealingwith Benny because they do not own up to any problems that his mechanic cost so I do not deal with him. I dropped off my car with the owner and requested a brake check and an oil change. He changed the oil, but the next day, I rear-ended another car. Today I went to get my wiper blades replaced at High Tech Auto Care in Orange, CT. !!!!!!BENNY WANG IS A HORRIBLE OWNER AND PERSON!!!! Benny Wang the owner rudely (as he is whenever I'm a customer there) banged on my window when I pulled up to his shop and asked what I wanted. I said I need my wipers replaced. He said "You need your brakes checked?' I said "Can you please replace my wiper blades?" He says "Pull up ( to a specific spot in the lot)". I get out of my car and he rudely says "Give me your blades!" I give them to him. He takes off one of the blades and takes one of the new ones out of the case. He doesn't even try to put on the new one before THROWING the new blades at me and curses at me. Benny says "You bought the wrong f*cking blades!" I said "I know you didn't throw those blades at me Benny you done f*cked up!" I'm asking him, "Well which ones do I need Benny?" He continues to yell and curse at me "You bought the wrong f*cking blades, look at the f*king manufacturer!!' He walks away. I call for backup because he's not going to disrespect me. I get in my car and driveway. After everything settled his excuse for his behavior was; "This generation doesn't know anything and he admitted he was wrong." So it's this generation and not his BEHAVIOR TOWARDS WOMEN?!! In the end it turns out the blades WERE the RIGHT size and those blades are on my car right now!!! And I'm a Gen X'r so WTF?!? He's not that much older than I am either. He also insulted my intelligence. His bullsh*t excuse was just that!! If you don't want to do your job... DON'T DO IT!! If you're not a people person; then maybe you shouldn't be working with the public. This post was directed just at the owner of the shop BENNY WANG. The other techs there are great people and I don't have any issues with them. I read another review where he threw keys at a woman for asking a question. So he has a history of treating women this way. So I know what happened to me was NOT an isolated incident. I am not sure how good they are at fixing the automobiles but attitude toward customer is less than desirable. After emission failed, we were trying to get estimate of cost to fix. Alll he would say was to take it somewhere else and would not even look at us. I am not sure what to make of his attitude but that is not the way to treat customer. He could just have said they cannot fix it at the site but he was very rude and all he could do was to repeat "take somewhere else". It was first time to take the car there trying get it fixed. I guess it will be last time also. I will definitely be taking somewhere else for all the needs. Maybe he can only fix very easy ones?!!!! read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend, i checked it out for some service work and was not let down. they gave me the cheapest deal on brake service from anyone else around and they did it very quick and efficient too. oil changes are a breeze, in and out no long waiting, and they also do emissions testing too. go try it out. read more

This is by far the worst auto shop experience I ever had. I tried getting my AC compressor replaced and Ben told me I didn't have the right part. He tried ordering the right compressor through his contacts but with no success. Instead of reinstalling the old part he decided to install the new part which he already said was not the right part and still charged me $230 for something he didn't fix. Now I'm stuck with a $560 part that's doing nothing for my car. I lost $800 because of him only focused in making a profit. Do not waste your time and money coming to this place. read more

Chinese guy difficult to talk to when you have a problem he acts like he doesn't understand English. They used to be good but going down hill ever since one of the guys left ( I think he was one of the owners) I could not pass emissions and they said it was the O2 sensor, we paid and replaced it, still did not pass. Changed 2 stripped lug nuts on my van. Quoted me $55. Thought that to be pricey but I was stuck with no way to change the tire in case I got a flat. Took about 15 minutes. When finished I was charged only $50. Still pricey but again if I can't change the tire I can't drive it. I check my lug nuts for torque because I had a tire fall off and shear all of the lug screws. SCARY experience. When I checked the lug nuts he put on there(although I told him I had lug nuts from Auto Zone that I had previously purchased) he insisted on putting lug nuts he had on my van. I found one to be a 21 MM lug nut. I only have a 19 MM socket for my torque wrench because I have 19mm lug nuts on all four tires. If I had gotten a flat I still would have been unable to change the tire. The other lug nut he put on was a 19 MM, BUT when I tried to torque it to the correct spec the lug nut just turned and turned and never tightened at all(stripped???). VERY dangerous as I already knew. I got away once without getting hurt from a loose lug nut. I might not be so lucky another time. I was needless to say...VERY angry. I replaced the two lug nuts High Tech Auto put on my van with two that I had purchased at Auto Zone. For me this is a place to definitely stay away from. read more

I don't know what happened to this business. This used to be my go to place for car repairs, he had the reputation for being honest and was always fair with his prices. I went there to see if they could check my brakes, since I heard a lot of squeaking when driving. They checked out my car and said my brakes looked new and came out practically yelling what do you want us to do? I felt very embarrassed and left. I found another guy and he checked out my brakes, the ones in the front looked okay, but the backed ones where to the point of breaking! I would have started to have the disk scratched within a few days! These guys lied to me and said my brakes where new, when in fact they where too lazy to check all of them and lied to my face! This could have cost me my LIFE!. I will never go to a place that would lie and be too lazy to check out systems of the car that are critical to the safety of me and my family. I don't know why this happened, maybe they have some bad techs, because Benny was always reliable and honest to me in the past. It really is sad that I had to write this review. read more

Took my car in for some work. They didn't even do a full diagnostic, but instead added parts and charged for labor that weren't necessary which didn't even solve the initial problem. They charged me an exorbitant amount for this work and told me I had to get more work done without barely any explanation or apology for their mistake. Will never go back here and will tell all my friends and family to take their car to a much better place down the street. Plus, they need to brush up on their customer service skills. Be nice to all your customers and stop being arrogant even if you are providing a specialized service. read more

I happened across this shop while looking for a muffler, all the other places I went were charging 200 more than he did... muffler lasted 3 years with no problems before i sold the car. Have had all my repairs done here ever since. Once I found a leak where the radiator connects to the engine and they fixed it in 10 min and only charged 20 bucks... Excellent service. read more

My car 2006 Hyundai Tuscon limted A/C is not working for some days, and went High Tech to repair on 7/5/2012, the owner told us $400 cash can fix it because the low press Hose need replace. After repair works at same day, looks it working. but just a few days the AC stop working again, we drive it back back to same garage, the owner told us the compressor was damage, we need spend another $400 dollars to fix it, then AC will working. At that time, we are not sure the comprssor was broken by his garage or not. But we drave to other gargage to check it. They told us both low prss Hose and compressor need replace. It means the High Tech garage didn't do the job after we spend $400 on hose, maybe the compressor broken by them. We drave back on Hight on 8/4/2012 again, because weekdays my wife and me need works. The owner said he can't refund us even the hose is broken.Then we call Orange Police, after policeman caming, he has no choice but write a word in the invoice: give proof low press line is not good give money back, sign name: Ben Yang. We drave to Fairstone and spent $70 to do AC diagnostic, after Fairstone issue page said the low press hose and compressor need replace, we backup high tech garage again, the owner said he can't refund us becasue we didn't repair AC. Only repair, he can refund. We can't trust any words he said and of course he didn't have right to force us to repair AC. It's my pleasure to once more sing the praise of High Tach Auto Care. I'll be brief because the facts speak for themselves. Yesterday I appeared at High tech Auto Care with two problems: a dramatically overheating car which almost didn't make it.and an almost flat tire. Thy added antifreeze and fixed a leak which solved that problem and romoved a nail and changed the tire which solved the problem. They didn't want to take any money (they hve become like voldfriends, which is a a good thing). This reviews echoes many tof thereviews they have gotten from other customers. I recently received a brake job here and I noticed they were still squeaking so I went back to him about that but he refused to look at it. He had one of his guys ride around with me and I kept pointing out the squeaking that I've been hearing but he claimed he didn't hear anything. When I got back to the shop to tell Ben the owner, he got loud with me and said they were fine so I walked out. I use to always go here for car work but that was my final time. Let me start by saying that my family and I have been going to high tech for several years. We brought multiple different vehicles to Benny and Howie for servicing/general repairs. I had always thought the guys offered fair prices, honest opinions, and solid work. However, that has all changed as of recently. Yes, I can agree that Benny has always been a little "short" and may come off rude... But he always seemed to get the job done. Recently though, I feel as if he could care less about his customers or business. The same goes for Howie. His snark attitude gets old pretty quick. Especially when they lie directly to your face and will not own up to mistakes they made. They will upcharge you on just about anything and claim they fixed the issue. In reality, you'll get lucky if they even put a band-aid on the real problem. This is all quite sad honestly, especially because I thought these guys actually cared about retaining customers. If you care about your vehicle and your cash for that matter, I'd take my business elsewhere. read more
