Decided to try out this cozy little coffee shop today and I was excited that they had vegan pastries! The inside is pretty small, not much seating, but they do have several tables outside as well. The vegan cinnamon knot was delicious and the latte was great too!

That's a terrible picture but in reality that strawberry danish was almost an out of body experience. Also my cappuccino is delicious. Cozy quaint place and friendly staff; I'll be back for sure.

A cozy and welcoming small coffee shop and bakery in south central Durham. The bakery selection is first class (and delicious) and the coffee menu is small but quality-based. Great place for a 1:1 business meeting or coffee catch-up with a friend. Loved it. We'll be back again soon!

Maybe that is why I received such poor customer service. The employee seemed exhausted and had little to no patience.

Horrible customer service. Ordered pastries and the woman behind the counter was rude and dismissive. Would give zero stars if possible. Would not recommend. Please go to Foster Market or Guglhupf, or any other bakery nearby. *Also, a family member asked what ingredients were used in their gluten free products and no one could answer and seemed reluctant to ask the baker.

My husband and my favorite coffee shop in North Carolina. And we go out for coffee quite a bit! The vibes are just so fun here. If I have an in-person meeting, I often ask my meeting mate to join me here so I can introduce them to the lovely atmosphere. We sit either indoors (they have a really nice space, and if you can get the little ante room facing the road, it's super fun!) or we sit outside on the large patio area which is adorned with lots of lovely plants (courtesy of the plant shop next door!) It's a small business and the owners are always coming up with fun latte flavors. My husband loved the vegan eggnog latte. I love that they don't blink if I ask them to make my latte a specific way (I asked recently for less sugar from the syrup and the cool barista said "half sweet, no problem!") I'm not sure if we like the perfectly made lattes more, or the vegan pastries (it might be a tie?) They have killer vegan croissants.

TLDR: Great place for a coffee and large croissant. If you are craving an extra large croissant this is the place to go. I stopped here for caffeine and a snack while in Durham. They are located in a small plaza with ample parking right out front. Baked goods are displayed at the front counter. Order and pick-up is on the left side of the counter. After ordering, I received the croissants right away and the earl grey tea a few minutes later. Since it was warm out, I ordered a hot tea with a side of ice. I was informed that the tea was only steeped for about a minute. After leaving, I continued to let it steep. Even after steeping, the tea was very weak and cool (I didn't even need the ice). I think the water was not hot enough to properly steep. The croissants were delicious. Very flaky and satisfying. The chocolate croissant had a good balance of pastry to filling ratio. Overall good experience, I would not recommend the tea, but I do recommend the croissants!

This basketry/coffee shop offers a variety of croissant and seasonal latte! Service was very friendly and extremely fast. Has limited indoor seating but quite a few well shaded porch seatings. Quiet and clean. Would be a great place to do work and spend the morning!

Vegan carrot cake cinnamon roll and vegan cream cheese and berry puff. You can't see it here but the cinnamon roll is like 3 or 4" tall.

This is a small cart with bread, espresso drinks, cold brew coffee, and French pastries - both traditional and vegan. We learned about this place from the list of participating businesses on the Shop Durham card website. Their flour is locally sources and they pride themselves on having a vegan counter part for most of their offerings. We got a loaf of sourdough, a vegan cream cheese and berry pastry, a non-vegan jalapeno popper pastry with bacon, and an enormous carrot cake cinnamon roll. For beverages, we both got the rose cardamom latte - my sister got cow milk and I got soy milk. The pastries were sensational. I love anything with puff pastry and it was such a treat to also have vegan cream cheese in there as well because I love cheese pastries and rarely see vegan ones. The pastry was thin and flaky and perfectly golden. Some commercial products and "accidentally vegan" frozen puff pastry will leave that grainy film on the roof of your mouth but these items are lovingly made by hand and nothing but pure deliciousness. The cinnamon roll could serve a family of four. It has shredded carrot, a few raisins, some walnuts, and was drizzled with icing. Sundays and Wednesdays they're at Northgate Park, 8am to Noon. You can also find "a variety of our pastries within coffee shops and grocery stores throughout the Durham, Chapel Hill, and Carrboro area," according to their website, but the locations are not listed. If I knew they were not on Yelp, I would have taken a picture of their blue oval cart.

We did not have a good customer service experience when we entered the store. The young man at the register was extremely dry and unfriendly. He and his female coworker were snickering and whispering to one another when we entered and while we were ordering. There was a lot of side eyeing each other and condescending facial expressions going on. Don't think we'll be back but I'm glad others have had better experiences. My husband was very upset, but we had already spent the money. Also, the coffee was just okay. Not what my husband asked for. ***Replying to owner. I appreciate the in-depth feedback as if you were there in the moment. We're not trying to damage your business. We're speaking solely on our experience. We did not tell anyone to not come to your establishment. Per my previous review I did say "glad others have had better experiences" at your establishment. We read the room quite well coming into your place of business and we stand by our previous review and experience we had. We wish you and your business further success and longevity.

There's just something about great coffee and bake shops where the best ones have obscure hours. Only open 3 days a week I am always trying to do at least once every week or two when the hours align! Very delicious ! I've never had agave in my coffee; but they do it here and it really works! Their pastries are very good as well. I had an apple tart last time I was there.

9:40 am and they are closed.

I drove across town for their reputation just for them to be closed during their normal working hours.

I was visiting from out of town. I ordered a cold brew, black, and a pastry. Both were excellent.

And it all started way back when being sold from a bicycle that was converted to dispense coffee! My spouse had an Americano and I had the Amalgamation cold brew tea when I saw someone walk by with it. He said it was very tart, but I thought I'd try it anyway. It's Very Heavy on the hibiscus tea, which is all I could taste, in spite of lemongrass, peppermint, orange peel, and cacaco nibs being in it too. I had some honey added, but that wasn't enough to temper the tartness so added some sugar, which only had a little effect. It wasn't until I added some half and half that it became better. That's my taste buds. Anyone else's may be different, but with or without the cream, it's a very pretty drink. We brought the cinnamon roll home to have later, but it smells divine. BTW, I love the small tables. Colorful and very intricately painted.
