I think whisker station has good ratings. I've always wanted to go to a cat cafe and was just really disappointed with the experience. I took my teen daughter, I paid $14 or $15 per person to be in a room with cats for 1 hour, and left after 10 minutes. Given that it says Cafe, I assumed there would be food available, at a minimum I thought I was going to get to hold a cat while drinking a latte. There were a few concessions you could buy, like M&M's. There are rules such as you cannot pick up the cats. I don't know about other cat lovers, but if you can't snuggle a cat I don't know how to tell if it's a fit for you or not lol. My daughter was the one who asked if we could leave, but I did not hesitate to do so. I couldn't help but think we could have been at the humane society holding cats for free. Oh my GOSH!! What a cute place, that we've overlooked for YEARS. Whisker Station is a cat cafe in Downtown Kirkwood... yeah, a cat cafe! For just $12 per person (a phenomenal deal), you can sip coffee or work on homework, with cats, for an entire HOUR. You can make a reservation online and get in same-day. They also take walk-ins. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable regarding the cats, and the cats were adorable and well-tempered (for the most part). Every room was very clean and modern. All of these cats are well taken care of and are looking for their forever home -- you can adopt any cat for under $300 directly from Whisker Station! We love this place! We are allergic to cats so we can't be around them for a long time. But we love them. We make our appointments online. It's $12 an hour per person. You get to play and lounge with many kitties that are adoptable. It's so cute inside the perfect spot for cats to run and play and get away if they need to. This cafe is super nice, this is my first cat cafe ever! They don't have coffee but they have a keurig. The cats were super sweet and playful. Fun fact: cats love bracelets and hair ties. Everyone there was also nice. All cats are adoptable, if you can't take care of a cat but want a cat come here and play! read more

Kittens galore and I was in heaven! We were going to a play at the Kirkwood theater and had some time to waste and this was more than ideal, a place to sit and play with cats and kittens? Say no more! I was more than pleased with the spacious rooms for the humans and the cats alike to interact or find a place to nap and hide. They have adoptable babies who are looking for some attention and a fur-ever home, but as a go between this place is pretty great. beautiful establishment! the workers were so friendly and informative upon entering and there was even a cat at the window who was people watching! they have pre packaged items to eat quite a few different selections for drinks. the cats were absolutely precious! we were in their space and you could tell they felt super comfortable and chill with everyone! it was a great experience! read more

We loved our time at the Whisker Station. It was so calm and peaceful. There were plenty of space and toys for the cats and for us. Many places for the cats to chill and hang out all along the walls and floors. There's a separate room for litter boxes. There's also a smaller, more quiet room to visit as well. The older cats were sleeping in there. The workers were so friendly and gave little intros of the cats as they walked by. They were also very willing to answer our questions. This is the greatest cat cafe!! They sell super cute jewelry at the front too. There's packaged snacks and bottled drinks and there's lots of cats, what's not to like?! The cats are super young cats and pretty engaging/willing to play; they probably are more/less active depending on the time of day but we went around 5pm and they were excited about the cat toys. There weren't too many people there either so that was nice. We'll certainly be back. read more

Such a great cat cafe an afternoon excursion, especially if you were like me and waiting for your train at Kirkwood station! My train was delayed at Kirkwood station and I was looking for something to do locally for an hour or so. I saw that Kirkwood had it's own cat cafe, and I knew I HAD to go check it out! It was an easy walk over from the train station, and the staff were so friendly and even stored my bags for me while I went in and played with the cats! There was plenty of space to lounge around and the environment was quiet, relaxing, and cozy! As someone who has visited several cat cafes, this one was a perfect size and had a friendly environment of both cats and humans! Whether you're a St. Louis local looking for something to do in downtown Kirkwood or visiting by train and have some time to kill, definitely check out Whisker Station! read more

We went again recently and had a rougher experience due more to other customers than to the staff or business. My daughter (12) loves to go to cat cafes and we come a couple times a year to Whisker Station. It seems like they have gotten more popular and it is a great place to meet a cat that you might want to adopt. This is wonderful and I really wish it had been available when we adopted out cat. On our recent visit there were a couple of families on an adopting mission (not just visiting) and they did a lot of "cat blocking". They found cats that they liked (of course the most accessible and friendly cats in the place) and parked themselves without moving for the entire hour. In both cases, they blocked almost an entire cat tree with at least 4 - 5 other cats besides the ones they were interested in. My daughter couldn't get near the 2 biggest sets of friendly, approachable cats due to these customers that were socializing with potential future pets. There was also a man visiting a cat that he had already adopted and was waiting out the waiting period to take him home, and he also was pretty clearly blocking access to that cat and telling people that the cat was his. My daughter was pretty disappointed on this trip that she was only able to interact with a small number of cats that weren't being claimed/blocked. I would suggest that if someone finds a cat they really like and might want to adopt, they should be moved into a private area to visit with just that cat, or that the staff would encourage people to move around more to provide everyone the chance to meet and pet all of the cats. read more

i went there today with some friends and it was absolutely the best experience!! the staff is so sweet and clearly cares for the kitties they have there. all the cats were so sweet and the cutest!! there's jewerly and other cute little cat themed things for sale at the front! Although it's not the most 'cafe' centered, it's an adorable place that's doing good things for the kitties!! if you're looking to adopt a cat, i highly recommend checking them out!! read more
