My daughter, wife, and I stopped in for a late lunch on an August Saturday afternoon. A handful of tables were occupied, both inside and outside. We chose to sit inside because of dark clouds on the horizon. Turns out one of the owners sat us at a four-top. After a warm welcome and a little history on this new establishment, we settled in to review the menu. Of course, waffles are available all day, but other more pub-like options are available, including burgers, flatbread pizzas, and salads. My wife ordered a Belgian waffle and a drip coffee from their coffee bar. My daughter selected a pepperoni flatbread pizza. I chose a chicken Caesar salad. I was tempted by an IPA on tap but stuck with a glass of water. The inside dining area is pleasant. A gelato counter sits in the corner beside the coffee bar, along with a full-size bar. Nice views of the canal are available almost everywhere. There are a lot of hard surfaces, though, and sounds bounce off floors and walls, creating a noisier environment. Despite this, we could comfortably carry on our conversations. My wife's waffle arrived with fresh berries. She thought it tasted like a waffle ice cream cone but in a good way. I thought my daughter's pizza looked inviting and fresh. She enjoyed it but ended up taking half home. It would probably be a good dish to share. My salad came with warm sliced chicken breast and was yummy. It was a generous portion with crunchy croutons. I was the last to finish, but I cleaned my plate. Service was pleasant and attentive. I thought the prices were reasonable. We will certainly return to try some other dishes and perhaps an IPA. read more

I don't get to Port Gamble nearly enough despite driving by a million times for the last 30 years. I am now planning to stop off more, I really appreciate the easy free parking, its a good place to stretch your legs and lots of cute stores/food & drink to check out. Plus who doesn't enjoy looking out at the water on a summer day. The name of this restaurant did not really appeal to me, but I heard it was newer and the menu looked appetizing. It has a nice front deck patio for those good weather days, but lots of space inside as well for when it is not so nice. I did not peruse the whiskey or the waffles, but did notice they had a full bar. We had a couple alcoholic beverages off the menu and they were tasty. Lots of coffee options available too. I really appreciate the varied menu options, on this visit I was very happy with my couscous salad, I wish more places would offer this. I absolutely love chickpeas, artichokes and olives so this was perfect for me. My dining partners shared a flatbread and thought it was tasty. On my next visit I might try the veggie burger, thanks for offering beyond. I'd love if there was a veggie breakfast option one day. Prices seem comparable these days. We came for breakfast and it was pretty busy. We did not have a reservation but didn't wait long to be seated. I'd say if you have more than 4 people in your party that you should make a reservation. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a view of the water. The inside is open and bright with a full bar. There are specific times for breakfast and lunch/dinner menus. There were 3 people in my party and we did wait over 30min to get our food. I got the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and it was delicious. Very flavorful. I would get it again. I'd say it's worth the wait if you are prepared to wait. Staff were very friendly. They also had a large variety of gelato. I was hesitant to get any due to the bright colors they were. In a touristy area, I wasn't expecting the food to be as good as it was. This is not a taurus trap restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and open and the staff was very friendly. It was bright and vibrant with a great view of the water. All of the food tasted very fresh. I ordered the eggs Benedict special that came with country potatoes. The potatoes were fresh and didn't taste like they had been sitting under a warmer for a long time. It was phenomenal! They have a full bar. If you have a sweet tooth like me, they have a good variety of gelato. I'll have to visit that next time. read more

Everything took a lot of time to come out of the kitchen. The burger was ordered medium and came out well done (burned). The chicken and waffles is flavorful but very greasy. Waffle is undercooked. Wait staff is wonderful and friendly. Great local beer from Rainy Daze and our friend had a whiskey which he enjoyed. The drawbacks would be the waffles. They were good but not great. The banana topping ran down the middle of the waffle but was not served with syrup. We had to ask and it did arrive and was hot, the same held true for the waffle with strawberry compote, our friends ordered the waffle fries and fish which they said was better. We love visiting the cute small town of Port Gamble and have been to this spot when it was different restaurants throughout the years. Whiskey and Waffles has done a beautiful job turning the space into a bright and welcoming space to enjoy a meal. Our server was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed waffles (Belgium, Banana Pecan) , a side of bacon, and American Breakfast as well as a cup of coffee. The place had the most inviting smell of waffles. We enjoyed everything, the bacon being the only item that was not anything special. We are definitely tempted to go back to enjoy their flatbread pizzas and gelato. read more

We love driving through this Port Gamble neighborhood on our way to the peninsula. On our last trip, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that the cafe next to the General Store had re-opened! The outdoor patio area has an amazing view, and is also dog-friendly. (The staff is also very dog-friendly!) I had the smoked salmon waffle, which was great. The waffle was not dry, had a great savory flavor, and the dill sauce was top-notch. (My wife said it had a bit too much dill for her taste, but I really loved it.) We've added this to our "Always Stop Here and Eat" list. The view, the service, the food -- all created an enjoyable and relaxing experience. Looking forward to our next trip there! read more

First time here and was not disappointed! The food was incredible. The interior and exterior look amazing. The remodel was done very well. Service was top notch! I had the American breakfast. Boy was it good. Bacon was delicious the homemade biscuit was soooo perfection, eggs cooked right , hash browns were crispy. Yum. My grandson had the strawberry waffle and I couldn't help but take bites. Sooo good. Also, I didn't know it was open so late and they do dinner service which is great because it has a lovely bar!! We visited for Father's Day brunch and had a wonderful experience. The waitress steered me toward the chicken and waffles with hot honey, and it absolutely lived up to the recommendation. delicious, indulgent, and packed with flavor. My husband ordered the veggie burger with a Caesar salad and really enjoyed it. The Bloody Mary was equally impressive, garnished with olives and asparagus and full of flavor. $50 coffee!!! We waited well over an hour for a meal that never arrived. Was charges $50 for a cup of coffee! Never going back here - discussed with whole affair. This was the worst service we ever experienced. Never got any food, so no idea if meal here would have been any good. When we left, the wait staff claimed the meal was ready, however, that was of no help to us as they didn't bother to serve the meal. Very disappointing to see such a gimmicky and poorly executed vision take up prime space in a small area. Waffles are mediocre and over priced. Concept is scattered and confusing. Stopped for breakfast on vacation. The wait staff was very attentive. The waffles have the nicest texture and the flavor is great. The sausage was wonderful.
