    Bacon cheeseburger, Ghostfish grapefruit IPA

Came here solo on a Sunday evening and couldn't recommend more! The vibe is chill, the service is great, the food is perfect. The bacon cheeseburger on a gluten free bun was super yummy and the fries are done WELL, could kill any craving! The bun didn't crumble at all - gluten free friends know the height of this compliment. I also got a Ghostfish grapefruit IPA - would recommend anywhere (a delicious WA gluten free brewery). And Adam was so attentive and made me feel special referring to me by name the whole night. Thanks KAH!!

Took the ferry over to see what was there not much but found this little "ale house" was cute had a 90's theme going on while we were there. Ate at the bar asked for a local blonde/light beer and they gave us 805 (that's not local) but the food was good.

Fast service (which is great if you're catching a ferry). Friendly staff. Cozy ambiance. The clam chowder was amazing. Crab sandwich was tasty, but could have been warmer.

    Dry...not fresh....halibut

I read the reviews and had high hopes. Ordered was the halibut n chips and salmon chowder. Although not terrible, the salmon chatter tasted a bit imbalanced with more potatoes than salmon taste. The first piece of halibut was a touch dry, but acceptable. The second was not. It was overcooked with a matte texture; not the glossy appearance of a fresh, well cooked piece of fish. Fries were soggy. Disappointing.

What a cool local bar with great food. My friend and I were walking the tiny downtown of Kingston, looking for a place to take a break and have a bite to eat. The Alehouse caught our eye and we stepped in, being greeted by Mike, the manager, who took fine care of us as we had cocktails and dinner. A excellent manhattan, salmon chowder (a house specialty) and crab stuffed mushrooms... everything was perfect. Rounding it all off is the atmosphere. A wooden bar stocked with bottles of liquors from here and gone, mirrors behind, chandelier lights not too dark, not too bright, very comfortable local pub feel. I hear there's karaoke on the weekends... might have to come back for that. A neat spot to stop and chill for a while, enjoy the mood and some really good food.

Award winning chowder with cream, potatoes, bacon, and in-house smoked bacon. 10/10 delicious!!

Just generally good food. Great burgers. Everything I've had there has been good. Service was good, too.

Heads up, if you show up at 7:30pm and they close at 8:00, they will turn you away. Fortunately the Filling Station let us eat there .

Good tap list. Lots of seating. Decent bar food. The wait staff were all helpful. What more do you need?

Ask the Community - The Kingston Ale House

It says dogs allowed...do you have a covered outdoor seating area for those with dogs?

We have a large covered outdoor patio and our patrons are more than welcome to bring their furry friends along!

Did anyone else find it odd to pay $17.00 for two 4 inch skewers of steak on the small plates menu?

Elaine, $17 is not our price for steak skewers. We don't know why your were charged $17 but we would like to make it right for you. If you would send us your mailing address we will happily refund the difference. You can email us at…

We arrived at 5 without realizing there was a concert starting at 6. No problem, we thought--we'd enjoy a little live music and then continue with our evening. The space filled up, the performer set up, and the owner came out to introduce the artist. That's when we heard, "Please no talking during the performance." Suddenly we realized we were in for a much more formal experience than expected. There hadn't been any heads-up from the staff, and it turned out it was a ticketed show with a $25 charge per person to be added to the bill. We caught our server's attention (in a whisper) and let her know we'd prefer to leave and not pay for the concert tickets. She handled it graciously and told us we could slip out during a break without being charged. A little awkward, but ultimately resolved. The music itself was beautiful, though the overall vibe felt a bit affected for our taste. I'd still recommend this place--just be sure to check the music schedule and decide intentionally if you want to attend a performance. They take the music very seriously.
