Went to attend their 5/1/26 conjunto concert featuring two bands. I got there at 7:30pm only to be told that the bands wouldn't go on-stage until 11:00pm. Are you kidding me? The DJ was playing conjunto polkas and cumbias but way too loud. And the smoke machine was chocking everyone. He'd play about eight cumbias in a row then about eight polkas in a row -- not a good DJ. And hey, this is South Texas. Everyone loves both conjunto and country but the DJ didn't play any country. I miss Whiskey River. We need a dance hall that plays good country, tejano and conjunto. For this 5/1/26 event, there were so many reserved tables that all other attendees struggled for seating. Until they turn down the volume and play a mix of music, I won't be back. The female bartender that night was very professional and courteous. Good for her. She was the only highlight of the evening. read more

I'm not from a larger city, and this club along with another one are the only ones I've ever been to. This one is pretty decent. I've never witnessed discrimination or anything like these other reviews. They take underage drinking seriously, which I appreciate and respect. Cops float in and out throughout the night. Witnessed a fight once, didn't get too out of hand cause the bouncers shut it down really quick. IF you can legally drink, they have $2 shots and other happy hour deals. You have to go during the sweet spot which is like 11 pm - 1 am on Saturday. People who paid to get in will be more likely to dance. Fridays when ladies are free it's just creepy guys watching girls dance. They play hispanic music as well, and it's nice to dance bachata with your date/boyfriend/friend etc cause there are other couples doing so as well. It's not bad. read more

Lots of college students come here, and in my experience it can get pretty live (busy). As a college student from Austin, Pure in comparison to 6th street is a joke. Pure is actually very lame. I was white and not discriminated against at all, so I guess (according to these other reviews) they only discriminate against black people. That rubs me wrong and makes Pure even more lame. Pure is definitely blatantly racist af they give my husband who's a veteran btw a hard time every single time. So I literally watched the bouncer and owner let in not 1 but three different people with solid black T-shirt's on and the moment they see us they're pulling out flashlights looking us up and down. Then tells my husband they don't allow solid black T-shirt's. After I confronted them about the other people he let in with the same exact thing on they just basically let us in because they knew they were wrong . This was legit the worst bar I have ever been to. I am a 23 year old female and they were pushing me and were very aggressive towards me and my other friends. What good is it if they don't let u in. there either bias or if they seem to be mad that day the wont let u in cause of a tattoo or attire. But on a good day u might get in. Not worth the drive for a 50/50 chance of not going in. Ask the rap artist who but didnt let in sad so sad. read more

The first time I went here there were no cover and it's a hit or miss on whether it's popping or not. The second time I went with another group and we paid about $10/person and the club was dead. We went in for a second and decided to leave because the club was dead, but one of the guys (manager or owner, I forget) said to stay because it will get busy soon because it was almost 11p. But the club remained slow and we wanted a refund, since the guy convinced us to stay. But they refused because of their policy. However, he offered us a drink, so he was being as fair as he could be. read more

Okay just now I got kick out of Pur by the owner. This what happen, I got my waist band as I was going in to pay to get in the club, I watched this dude left the female line where he was giving them a waists band and asked me if I have a tattoo on my neck? I said no. Than he kept staring at me strange so I ignored him that's when he said "this is my club leave". I am in shock didn't even know what to say. I am wearing a button long sleeves collar shirt too while he's in a wife beater tatted up to the neck! Is this owner have problem with Black people? BE SAFE OUT THERE AT THIS PLACE! last night a group of friends and i went out to pure to have fun. however, it ended up being a scary experience! when we got there we were minding our business, but i noticed i was being stared down by a guy all dressed up in black i told my friends and we all moved to a different place of the club, we then noticed 2 older women probably in their 40s were staring at us and they were as well dressed up all black and were on their phones.. we then got in the crowd to like not stand out as much. later on that night a friend and i went outside to take a call and two guys dressed up in all black followed us and said "look they are leaving" and they pointed at us like 3 times.. we went back in to the club and they went in as well, we ended up leaving but we literally had to get security to escort us and take us to our car! Had such a good time! It's nice club. I like how it's 2 clubs in one, we were going back and forth between the two. Both clubs played really good music. Drinks were cheap. Entrance fee but not a lot either and no parking fee. Will go back next time I visit Corpus. read more

Visited this club over the weekend. They gladly took our cover charge knowing the club was standing room only. I spoke with management who refused to give our money back when advised the club was exceeding the seating limitations. First and last visit to this place. read more
