Definitely had a great time at Whisky Roots. We came in and immediately greeted at the door by Ryan. Ryan's energy gave us that warming welcoming feeling that we was about to have a good time. Definitely appreciated him and his hospitality. It wasn't packed because it was late in the night like 1hr or 2 before closing. He also helped us with the best drinks and food. That night there was a DJ playing music, so we caught a lil vibe , once we got drinks now the party starts. Lol! After talking to Ryan, we met Rob was really cool and informative about that infused bourbon drink I got. Maaaan, we had a great time in such a very short time with Ryan, Rob and DJ Chris. I believe we will come back again, but will bring a few friends to experience the vibes. Appreciate you guys on such a short notice. Good food, good laughs, great drinks and Vibes. read more

I wanna live here. Seriously. I loved the decor. I loved the drinks. And I loved the bartender, Rob. he's amusing af!! So many social media worthy photo ops while you sip on their house drinks. Such a cool vibe. I will definitely be back. Hopefully, they update the bathroom because that was the only thing that screamed for help. But I still love this place! read more

Listen, this place has it all. Great food, wonderful staff and beautiful ambience. We've been coming to MB for years and thanks to TikTok we found this gem and will definitely make it our usual hangout. They have a nice set up. You have your huge TVs, karaoke set up, corn hole plus other things. We had a prior dinner reservation so we just ordered appetizers and drinks. We ordered 12 wings (mango habanero and bbq whiskey) and bang bang shrimp. Both appetizers were delicious and made fresh. Drinks were old fashioned and I had a mocktail (bartender's choice) and it was delicious. Overall we had a wonderful experience and plan to return. If you're looking for a nice meal and fun/nice atmosphere, this is the place! read more

Wonderful place!! Do yourself a favor and stop in! Like others mention, place was pretty quiet on a Friday night, but it did not disappoint! Wait staff were incredible, atmosphere is super fun (decor is on par with the theme) and there is a set of bags, hook game and giant jenga all indoors. Kept our big kids entertained while we waited for our food. Our party all enjoyed their food as well, we shared apps, plus my daughter had a salad, son had chicken strips and daughter had quesadillas. All were very good, big servings and excellent value. We would definitely return! read more

The restaurant is large and vibrant. We were surprised it wasn't busy when we arrived. We were seated right away. Our server was very sweet and attentive when she did come by. The snapper was a delicious--large, meaty, and packed with flavor. It was cooked perfectly. The pulled pork sandwich was also solid, decent portion and a great balance of flavors. It was filling and satisfying. read more

Monday-evening just 2 of us. The place was empty except a few people at the bar. Esthetics of the place was neat. Portions were large/filling. Drinks strong-too strong. 18% service charge added automatically- which I'm not a fan of on small orders. Typically I tip more and was taken back by them automatically adding it. read more

Whiskey Roots Bar and Grill - WR Burger Fries Wings - Whiskey Bars Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

While on vacation in Myrtle Beach, we ended up at Whiskey Roots. We had become hopeless after waiting at 2 other restaurants for hours. The restaurant was practically empty when we got there. We were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered appetizers that came out quickly. If you've never had corn ribs, like us, they are delicious. The loaded fries and bang bang shrimp (I don't remember the exact name.) were also very good. They also have different games to play while waiting: ring toss and corn hole. We also saw signs about private karaoke rooms. It's definitely a cool place. It wasn't exactly what we were wanting to eat on our vacation to the beach, but the experience was great. No wait! Good food! Great service! Good vibes! read more

Exceptionally good, amazing prices and a wonderful bar selection. This was a great find and we will definitely be back when in the area.

The food was good. The portion size of the caesar salad was enormous. The gold rush was my drink of choice and it did not disappoint. The WR burger was a hit also. Our server Adrian was great! read more

The ambiance is definitely a vibe! You can get some cute pictures in various areas in the restaurant. The drinks were very strong and worth the money! After the second sip, my friend and I both were feeling it! I ordered the nachos as they didn't have many vegetarian options. They were decent because I was hungry and needed some food on my stomach. I would recommend for the drinks and atmosphere for sure. Our waiter was very accommodating. read more

We are from VA and I was with a party of 7 to celebrate my niece's birthday. This establishment was our last stop to celebrate but we received subpar service. Our waitress was more concerned about other tables and once we received our food, it was cold or something was missing from each order and our checks were wrong. No manager was on duty and the guy who called himself helping was condescending. We were forced to pay gratuity for subpar service. They basically took our money for bad food and bad service. I will never come here again. Finally, our waitress was talking about our table and my niece heard her. read more

This place is great! Rob the waiter was fantastic and the food was wonderful! The ribs is a HUGE portion!!! Highly recommend. We went during lunch and it was a wonderful experience. read more

Restaurant was clean & our server was awesome. However for a party of 20 we booked reservations over a month in advance & when we arrived they had two other large parties that we were told were "walk ins" so they sat us elsewhere. Our drinks took over 30 minutes at the bar. & Our food took over an hour & half to arrive to the table. Even when the food was arriving we still were missing food. Most of our food was undercooked & cold. After 18 of us had already finished eating two of our people were STILL waiting on their food. This restaurant is beautiful however they need more staff & better food quality. read more

Great service and the Bang Bang Shrimp was amazing! These shrimps were juicy, fresh and big! The sauce complimented the shrimp wonderfully! The drinks were nice and strong as well! I had the Rye a mixture of whisky, rum and honey. Strong and tasty. Our waiter did a great job and had a fun personality as well which was a plus! He also helped us with choosing cocktails. The staff was fantastic check this spot out! We arrived in the afternoon it was not busy at all. read more

Made a reservation for 14 people to watch a specific NFL game last Sunday. Had family in from all over the country for this and upon arrival we could not get anyone to assist in turning the large TV to our game (as we were told would be possible). The server kept hiding behind the wall where the waitstation is and had attitude when I asked if we could please get the TV chanel switched as kickoff had already happened at this point (keep in mind we still have yet to get menus, have no drinks and have not even been properly greeted). Another family member then asked the bartender for assistance, he was nice but it still took 10 min. to get anyone to assist us...only to find out that they DO NOT HAVE THE NFL SUNDAY TICKET. Therefore, unless your game is local you will not be able to watch it. This is odd since I made it very clear that we were coming in for a specific game...and they advertise having a "football room to watch your favorite game". I am used to watching out-of-market games and was sure to confirm that our game would be on. Anyway, after spending nearly 30 min. trying to get help, drinks, food, assistance...we ended up leaving. I would not recommend this place as it seems to be focused on anyting but customer service. We didn't feel welcome at all. read more

Service was excellent, atmosphere was upscale rustic (hipster's dream but nice). Food was hit or miss. The lemon pepper wings were WILDY delicious! All four of us were over the moon about them. My pulled pork sub was dry and not cut in the middle so I just ate it with a fork, would not ever get again. The meat burger was pretty good. Caesar salad was dry and flavorless. Firecracker shrimp were standard but good. Again, great service. Would return. read more

Had a small group to get together tonight for dinner. Atmosphere was great. music was great. There was not enough servers to cover how many people were in the facility. Food excellent. Fries best I' ve had in ages Burger seasoned and flavorful (couldn't finish). Help is very nice. Hubby enjoyed fish. Beware bring cash if you don't want to get the surcharge. Also 18% gratuity is added. I found this annoying as I usually tip 20% in cash. Awkward leaving just a few dollars to bring to 20%. We both liked it enough to leave on our "will go again list." read more

Whiskey Roots is top notch. We came in with a large party, and they were able to seat us right away(this was about lunch time). The atmosphere was incredible as well with clean space and nobody felt squished on top of one another. Renee was absolutely amazing, as well! She took us on and conquered our crazy requests for my grandmothers 70th birthday celebration. Not only was the service amazing but the food was as well! We were all extremely pleased and full after our meal. We will 100% recommend to anyone visiting on their vacation and will be back before we leave! read more

Left there an hour ago. Very disappointed. Only had one waitress and maybe one cook. Took over an hour to get our order. Group of 20 and received orders out of order. Water was very lemony, sweet tea not, onion rings cold and mush after reheating. Cesar salad with shrimp needed shrimp cooked a little more. Website listed special Price but not given. Don't know if they have new management or just short staff tonight but it was disappointing. Will not recommend or go back. read more

We dinned at Whiskey Roots tonight, because the recent reviews were good for food, atmosphere, & drinks. The atmosphere and service were good. The food was below average for taste and temperature. The explosion nachos were missing black beans & corn and had very little pulled pork or pico. Just a lot of melted nacho cheese and somewhat stale chips. The Shrimp and grits were lacking in flavor and presentation. The burger was flavorful but overcooked per request of medium. The pretzel was the food item we would rate highest. The old fashioned had received rave reviews so I tried one, but was very unimpressed with the flavor and overall pour. So again service and atmosphere good, but food and cocktails below average. read more

We were invited to try their Brunch Menu Launch. The new menu, mimosas, DJ, and vibes were on point! Whiskey Roots' atmosphere was inviting and the staff were attentive and friendly! This is definitely a restaurant you need to add to your favorites for brunch in Myrtle Beach! We absolutely enjoyed our meals! We tried: Brunch Burger Chicken and Waffles Avocado Toast Brunch Salad Their mimosa flights were one of our favorites! They did NOT disappoint and definitely got us RIGHT!! They also have a champagne wall with the cutest delivery of your bubbly drink! We love supporting local gems because it's not only a treat for your taste buds, but also a great way to support small businesses!! Opened for 2 weeks- not in the best area of town, but the inside is gorgeous! Private parking lot. Two private karaoke rooms you can reserve. I'd say, big enough for 10 people or so. Huge TV in the 1st dining area and the bar is located in the 2nd along with 1 board of cornhole and the old hook the ring game, now let's get to the food...we started with the nachos and they arrived cold. The pulled pork sandwich was on a great sub roll...very soft, but the pork itself was a bit sweet and not a lot of meat. The coleslaw could use vinegar, was mayo based and thick cut. The "signature " ribs to me seemed boiled. 2 portions with about 4 ribs per and arrived already sauced. I wasn't a fan. The French fries were delicious and you had a potato choice. To me, the star of the show was the beans. The whiskey selection was adequate. I expected a few more obscure options but all the regular whiskeys are there. The bar area is very nicely put together and Mandy made a mean Ken-tiky which I enjoyed thoroughly. The Old Fashioned was nothing to write home about. Will I be back? Probably not. I think I expected more from the menu. Just another restaurant to me. read more

Food was fine but the place was dead at 6:30 on a Saturday night...might have been the 18% surcharge slipped on our bill without notice. Just the two of us. No entertainment. A weird server and 3 other couples in the whole place. Of course as a tourist we didn't take the time to review the bill and tipped 20% on the total. A tip on a tip! Myrtle Beach already taxes food at a higher rate and to have a restaurant rip off the customers w/o notice feels exploitive. Won't be back. read more

Easily the best looking and stylish bar in Myrtle Beach! ! As soon as you walk in the ambience and cool vibe is so impressive and the huge video screen will be amazing for sports events. We went for lunch and enjoyed their chicken sandwich and had great service, at the bar, from Marina. The bar has a strong collection of whisky heavily weighted to bourbon and other US names but several brands of Scotch, Irish, Canadian and even a Japanese whisky are available. The owner showed us two private karaoke rooms that should be a great for a party. read more

This place was fantastic!!! We stopped in after lunch time. The place is has tables but also has couches around coffee tables for lounging and talking with friends. There was a corn hole set in the next to one of the couch seating areas and big screen TVs in strategic locations for enjoying sports. Very neat atmosphere! The food was REALLY good and reasonably priced. They also have a room for events. We had the Tasty Plate (an app sampler), fish and chips with sweet potato fries, and an order of French fries. Everything was Excellent. We had a glass of wine and a Pink Flamingo. . The is a pink drink in a martini glass with a bubble on top, you drop a charred lemon slice in and there it smokes when the bubble pops. Very tasty! Loved this place. Hope it comes to Wilmington NC. soon. read more
