Definitely had a great time at Whisky Roots. We came in and immediately greeted at the door by Ryan. Ryan's energy gave us that warming welcoming feeling that we was about to have a good time. Definitely appreciated him and his hospitality. It wasn't packed because it was late in the night like 1hr or 2 before closing. He also helped us with the best drinks and food. That night there was a DJ playing music, so we caught a lil vibe , once we got drinks now the party starts. Lol! After talking to Ryan, we met Rob was really cool and informative about that infused bourbon drink I got. Maaaan, we had a great time in such a very short time with Ryan, Rob and DJ Chris. Listen, this place has it all. Great food, wonderful staff and beautiful ambience. We've been coming to MB for years and thanks to TikTok we found this gem and will definitely make it our usual hangout. They have a nice set up. You have your huge TVs, karaoke set up, corn hole plus other things. We had a prior dinner reservation so we just ordered appetizers and drinks. We ordered 12 wings (mango habanero and bbq whiskey) and bang bang shrimp. Both appetizers were delicious and made fresh. Drinks were old fashioned and I had a mocktail (bartender's choice) and it was delicious. Overall we had a wonderful experience and plan to return. Wonderful place!! Do yourself a favor and stop in! Like others mention, place was pretty quiet on a Friday night, but it did not disappoint! Wait staff were incredible, atmosphere is super fun (decor is on par with the theme) and there is a set of bags, hook game and giant jenga all indoors. Kept our big kids entertained while we waited for our food. Our party all enjoyed their food as well, we shared apps, plus my daughter had a salad, son had chicken strips and daughter had quesadillas. All were very good, big servings and excellent value. While on vacation in Myrtle Beach, we ended up at Whiskey Roots. We had become hopeless after waiting at 2 other restaurants for hours. The restaurant was practically empty when we got there. We were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered appetizers that came out quickly. If you've never had corn ribs, like us, they are delicious. The loaded fries and bang bang shrimp (I don't remember the exact name.) were also very good. They also have different games to play while waiting: ring toss and corn hole. We also saw signs about private karaoke rooms. It's definitely a cool place. It wasn't exactly what we were wanting to eat on our vacation to the beach, but the experience was great. No wait! We are from VA and I was with a party of 7 to celebrate my niece's birthday. This establishment was our last stop to celebrate but we received subpar service. Our waitress was more concerned about other tables and once we received our food, it was cold or something was missing from each order and our checks were wrong. No manager was on duty and the guy who called himself helping was condescending. We were forced to pay gratuity for subpar service. They basically took our money for bad food and bad service. However for a party of 20 we booked reservations over a month in advance & when we arrived they had two other large parties that we were told were "walk ins" so they sat us elsewhere. Our drinks took over 30 minutes at the bar. & Our food took over an hour & half to arrive to the table. Even when the food was arriving we still were missing food. Most of our food was undercooked & cold. After 18 of us had already finished eating two of our people were STILL waiting on their food. Great service and the Bang Bang Shrimp was amazing! These shrimps were juicy, fresh and big! The sauce complimented the shrimp wonderfully! The drinks were nice and strong as well! Made a reservation for 14 people to watch a specific NFL game last Sunday. Had family in from all over the country for this and upon arrival we could not get anyone to assist in turning the large TV to our game (as we were told would be possible). The server kept hiding behind the wall where the waitstation is and had attitude when I asked if we could please get the TV chanel switched as kickoff had already happened at this point (keep in mind we still have yet to get menus, have no drinks and have not even been properly greeted). Another family member then asked the bartender for assistance, he was nice but it still took 10 min. to get anyone to assist us...only to find out that they DO NOT HAVE THE NFL SUNDAY TICKET. Therefore, unless your game is local you will not be able to watch it. This is odd since I made it very clear that we were coming in for a specific game...and they advertise having a "football room to watch your favorite game". I am used to watching out-of-market games and was sure to confirm that our game would be on. Anyway, after spending nearly 30 min. trying to get help, drinks, food, assistance...we ended up leaving. The explosion nachos were missing black beans & corn and had very little pulled pork or pico. Just a lot of melted nacho cheese and somewhat stale chips. The Shrimp and grits were lacking in flavor and presentation. The burger was flavorful but overcooked per request of medium. The pretzel was the food item we would rate highest. The old fashioned had received rave reviews so I tried one, but was very unimpressed with the flavor and overall pour. Whiskey Roots is top notch. We came in with a large party, and they were able to seat us right away(this was about lunch time). The atmosphere was incredible as well with clean space and nobody felt squished on top of one another. Renee was absolutely amazing, as well! She took us on and conquered our crazy requests for my grandmothers 70th birthday celebration. Not only was the service amazing but the food was as well! We were invited to try their Brunch Menu Launch. The new menu, mimosas, DJ, and vibes were on point! Whiskey Roots' atmosphere was inviting and the staff were attentive and friendly! This is definitely a restaurant you need to add to your favorites for brunch in Myrtle Beach! We absolutely enjoyed our meals! We tried: Brunch Burger Chicken and Waffles Avocado Toast Brunch Salad Their mimosa flights were one of our favorites! They did NOT disappoint and definitely got us RIGHT!! Food was fine but the place was dead at 6:30 on a Saturday night...might have been the 18% surcharge slipped on our bill without notice. Just the two of us. No entertainment. A weird server and 3 other couples in the whole place. Of course as a tourist we didn't take the time to review the bill and tipped 20% on the total. A tip on a tip! Opened for 2 weeks- not in the best area of town, but the inside is gorgeous! Private parking lot. Two private karaoke rooms you can reserve. I'd say, big enough for 10 people or so. Huge TV in the 1st dining area and the bar is located in the 2nd along with 1 board of cornhole and the old hook the ring game, now let's get to the food...we started with the nachos and they arrived cold. The pulled pork sandwich was on a great sub roll...very soft, but the pork itself was a bit sweet and not a lot of meat. The coleslaw could use vinegar, was mayo based and thick cut. The "signature " ribs to me seemed boiled. 2 portions with about 4 ribs per and arrived already sauced. I wasn't a fan. The French fries were delicious and you had a potato choice. To me, the star of the show was the beans. The whiskey selection was adequate. I expected a few more obscure options but all the regular whiskeys are there. The bar area is very nicely put together and Mandy made a mean Ken-tiky which I enjoyed thoroughly. The Old Fashioned was nothing to write home about. Will I be back? Probably not.
