Whiskey's! It's not "Whiskies" as in multiple whiskies, but Whiskey's as in it belongs to one whiskey. This is the place for cheap drinks- not just whiskey. We came in, and got a round of beers and cocktails, and were pleasantly surprised to not need to break a benjamin! It was affordable drinkin'! They offered a cool jukebox with pool tables and dart boards, again was all reasonably priced. They offer some strong rotgut well drinks. I think the well whiskey at Whiskey's was Kentucky Deluxe. The bar is a sunken thing, with barstools all around it. The bartender was super nice, fast, and friendly getting us all drinks quickly. They offer long island iced tea pitchers, or liquid marijuana if you wanna take a wild trip! Everyone seems to know each other around here, like it's the neighborhood place where they all know each other's name, like that other bar you hear about. read more

Whiskeys has been around for many years. I used to frequent this place regularly in my early 20s. They are famous for their Long Island ice teas. For $6 you get a small pitcher. Those pitchers full of Long Island ice tea ads fun, but dangerous. By the time you know it, you've had three. Walking in for the first time in 15 years, I was taken back to many moons ago. The place has not changed much. They even still have the one stall ladies room. They still have great prices on their drinks. You can get a beer and a shot for under $5. That's unheard of in most places. If you want a snack, not to worry. They have complimentary popcorn and a candy bowl you can raid. Now don't confuse this place with an upscale bar. It's what you would call a hole in the wall, but it is a nice, laid back place to enjoy a few cold ones with friends. read more

I used to love it here. But now the bathrooms are overflowing. This isn't an issue that happens overnight. This has been ongoing for 3 weeks. I'm a regular here but I'm rethinking this and MyBar is just a friendly bit their bathrooms work. I don't usually bark negatively but 3 weeks is plenty of time to fix the issues with their bathrooms. I would walk in and there is piss every where on the floor. That's freaking disgusting. The place to go to when you want to get away from the snooty posh like places. Like any dive bar this place has a relaxing ambience. Sat at the bar in a chair that rolled on wheels. Might be donated furniture but nonetheless gives the vibe of someone's place that they put together . Enjoyed that they offered their guests popcorn ! Movie style kind to pick on while enjoying their drinks and company of friends laughing about whatever. They offer a small room in the side to play pool . Saw two tables and middle room had about 5 tables. Womans bathroom was one stall. Small . I almost walked into the men's bathroom on accident since it was close to the exit. My coworkers and I go for happy hour about once a week since they have really good specials on the pitchers and pool tables that we usually don't have to wait for. I also like that they have a change machine for the pool tables. The bartenders and waitresses are usually friendly and if they're ever short it's usually just when they're busy which is expected really at any bar. Sometimes it smells a little weird in there but you get over it after a few beers lol. The ladies bathroom in the back doesn't lock and it seems like an easy fix so not sure why it's been like that for a while. The parking totally sucks if you go too late after happy hour but I don't think they can really control that they have a small parking lot. We'll keep going back because of the specials. Just a few things they need to fix but nothing too big to keep me from continuing to visit. read more

For being a dark dive bar there was a lively crowd for happy hour. Whiskeys is a cool little place. The bartenders were quick and friendly. The seating seemed limited but I still managed to grab a table. The waitress kinda ignored me but it's ok. I don't mind getting my own drinks. Simply referred to the regulars as just 'whiskey's' it's a pretty small yet cool place to hang out at. Staff is friendly and drinks are reasonably priced. Packed to the gills on some nights but it lends itself to even getting to know complete strangers. Pool tables and dart boards are here as well. Like most other reviews I'm going to tell you this a dive bar. But that doesn't make it any less special than it is. Proximity wise (Medical Center) it is close to my place which makes it a neighborhood bar for me. The drinks are cheap but are made well and are not weak yet are not so strong so a happy medium. Another plus is the free popcorn to snack on while you're relaxing there, very yummy. Service is quick even on the weekends and they have rotating specials as well. My favorite drink at Whiskey's is the Liquid Marijuana. Yes I know it's not healthy but it's strong and taste great while getting me relaxed real quick. Parking is somewhat limited but once again I never had a problem that. I hope Whiskey's never changes. read more

Let's be real.. this isn't the basic bar that serves cheap water down liquor. They make great drinks, not watered down or tooooo strong. They don't have your basic young hootchie looking bartenders. Here is where I have a problem....I frequent this establishment often and tonight I walk in and the door guy tells me that I can't get in with the muscle shirt that I had on! But then he tells me had it said San Antonio Spurs on the front of it, it would be ok! My shirt had a Gold's Gym logo on it! Where is the freaking logic in this stupid ass rule! The Long Islands are awesome, but other than that, this bar is just meh. Lots of creepy dudes who will harass you and the bouncers don't do much about it. The first time I went, there was a crazy rush to close out tabs and my friend ended up getting charged over 60 bucks extra because of a "mistake" and this was not the first time it had happened to her here. They told her they voided it out so it shouldn't show up on her statement, but still. Because of this I started closing out after every round to avoid the long closing wait/wrong charges, but tonight they told me I was only allowed to do two rounds on the credit card if I was closing out after each one and would have to pay cash for any subsequent drinks. WTF? Love the patio and the tea in pitchers but the atmosphere kind of blows, some of the bartenders are really unfriendly, and the ladies' bathroom is sketch. If you aren't going to allow people to pay with a credit card independently for each round, fix your billing issues so that customers can feel comfortable leaving a tab open. Asking me to use the ATM with its extra charges was a really un-classy touch. Whiskey's is fine if you're paying cash and with a big group of friends to ward off creepers, but this bar has enough issues to make me not really want to come back too often. read more
