Whispering Palms Manufactured Home Community and RV Resort is great! Monica and I pulled in here in our RV last December to stay for a week or 2 and visit friends. We loved it here and have since bought a little place and keep our RV here also. There are lots of fun things to do - swim in 2 pools, horse shoes, tennis, and more. There are events like pot lucks and parties and music. There are more than 4 miles of paved road great for walking or taking golf cart rides with Chop (the dog). There are lots of great folks here. There is a pond and gazebo that is peaceful. There is a place with pool tables. The grounds always look neat and clean. The staff is helpful and friendly. We like the surrounding area also - Sebastian is not too crowded - no high rises. There is a great park nearby that has events like music and arts on the weekends. There is a great farm stand - just 1/4 mile from the park (Jopng's Produce) The ocean is a 10 min drive to the beach. This is my kind of place. I've posted some photos.

Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club - Beach club

Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club

    (2 reviews)

This mega-club has two locations: mainland and island. The mainland is massive with golf courses,…read moretennis, pools, clubhouse and thousands of residences ranging from large single family homes to villas, townhomes and condos. It is very well maintained. The island location is oceanfront and spectacular with a beautiful pool, cabanas, restaurant and bar. Sitting by the pool and wandering down to the beach is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

This club is stealing from its members in the form of refusal of promised services. They promised…read morethat when the members took control of the club that the poor service and refusal to provide contracted services would change. It only got worse. Sitting at the beach club as I write this review, there is no one to bring food and beverages, beach chairs or umbrellas onto to the beach for many of us seniors that depend on these services to be able to visit without hurting ourselves. Demanding that you must wear a mask ( even with a lung condition) to get service while completely outside is cruel, uncaring and bullying in my opinion. Completely close for indoor dining. Demands mask wearing inside the gym even though the World Health Organization has a stated policy and health warning against it. I will not be renewing my membership again. Two years of broken promises is enough for me. The club use to have amazing food and good service. One could count on being pampered. No more. Time to move on. Really disappointing and sad. The new management can't even provide an activity calander for a week in advance. They planned an event and it was sold out in 1 day because you have to spend at least 1000 on food and beverages or you have to pay for it anyway, but there are so few food options available to spend the contractual amount that it become ridiculous. Sold out events because there is limited capacity during covid, but they do it outside with tone of space available- they just are not hiring the staff to do it. Also because they do t want to pay people to work, service is really ridiculously slow. Takes two hours to eat lunch. Sign by the bar says No Mask No Services. Again- bullying and cruel. I alsready ended up with a life threatening infection from wearing a MASK- not from covid. Went temporarily blind in one eye from mask borne bacterial infection ( from a so called sterile mask)Grand Harbor is not worthy of investing your hard earned dollars. Nice waitstaff. Horrible management still.

Stopped into the Environmental Learning Center on a whim after driving past it many times, and now…read moreI'm wondering why I waited so long. This place is one of those hidden little Treasure Coast gems that almost hides in plain sight. The boardwalk trails through the mangroves were peaceful, scenic, and surprisingly immersive. Every turn felt like a mini nature documentary. Within a short walk I spotted a ribbon snake cruising through the water, an orb-weaver spider that looked like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie, and plenty of birds and wildlife along the way. Bring a camera because you'll use it. Bonus points for the rare opportunity to admire a spider web without immediately walking face first into it. The grounds are well maintained, educational without feeling overly touristy, and just plain relaxing. There's a nice balance between nature preserve, learning experience, and quiet escape from the everyday rush. Also appreciated that you can spend 30 minutes here or easily lose a couple of hours wandering the trails and slowing your brain down a notch. We didn't try the kayak rental this time but made a mental note for the future. If you live in or visit Vero Beach and enjoy nature, photography, kayaking, wildlife, or just finding peaceful spots that don't involve crowds and traffic, this place is absolutely worth a stop.

We came here while visiting the area and really enjoyed the learning center!…read more We only stayed for a few hours but there was definitely a lot more to see and do here. We got to see a lot of fish and native Florida wildlife! There were a lot of walking trails, kayak/canoe launches, and tons of information posted around about native Florida habitats! There was also a play area for kids as well. We spent a lot of the time in the aquarium room (and yes it's a room not a super huge space) since it was air conditioned and our daughter really enjoys seeing the fish. They have a touch tank that's open for a few hours throughout the day, but we noticed that if the tank isn't open, there was no staff in the space. The facilities seemed a bit older but overall well maintained. There were summer camps going on while we were there, and felt like they sort of overtook some of the spaces we were in from time to time. Not a super huge deal as we were able to go explore other parts but it did feel somewhat chaotic as a large group of 8 year olds ran into the area. You do have to pay admission, there is a pass available as well if you plan to visit more than once. Parking was not plentiful so be mindful when planing, to come early or during a more "off" time. Overall this was a neat place to go to if you enjoy learning about Florida wildlife and nature.
