This historical restaurant is located right on the water - any closer and you'd be swimming. It's an old building full of history and fun stories on the menu of how it came to be. It's a special place and it's memorable. We've been several times for lunch and dinner throughout the years. This place has a beachy gift shop, a main waiting room with the hostess stand, an oceanfront indoor bar and lounge area, and the main dining room. For lunch, it's more laid back. The menu is sandwich-heavy but includes some non-sandwich items like fried shrimp plate, nova scotia scallops, and a special entree each day. It's a lot less busy for the most part during lunch in comparison to dinner. Dinner is a big to-do here. They open at 4pm for bar seating and to add your name to the dinner waitlist. If you want a table, especially one closer to the best view, you've gotta get there around 3:50-4 to get in line. They don't do reservations unless you're a larger party. You can then either leave and come back close to 5, or enjoy drinks at their bar if you're lucky enough to score seating. At dinner, the menu is definitely more extensive- featuring steaks, chops, and different fish/seafood specials. We love their prime rib, and the creamed spinach is perfect and old school. At lunch and dinner, don't miss out on their dessert tray presentation. The dessert tray has a lot of options - and it's a fun experience. Their bartenders are always nice and professional, and most importantly make a delicious cocktail. Cosmos, pear martinis, dirty martinis, all delicious each time we visit. Servers are also nice and professional too which lends to the charm of this old place! We had one bad scenario out of all of the times we visited regarding service from an assistant manager - but every other visit has been great! I love that they have GF options, like french onion soup made without the bread! On your way out, stop by the gift shop for even more goodies - their homemade blue cheese dip is not to miss! It's complementary at dinner, but honestly we like to buy extra for the house. They also sell dessert slices, and alcoholic beverages like rum runners, pain killers, margaritas, etc in two different sizes. Great to take to enjoy and walk down the beach!

I ordered Mahi with potatoes and creamy spinach. Everything was delicious except my partner's rice tasted terrible. It appeared that it was cooked with water that had a funky taste to it. They should taste the food that's coming out to the customers. The menu is very pricy. Expect to pay $250 for two people. They also have a cute gift shop... very pricy as well. A T-shirt costs $28. A chime that we saw there was $65 - we found the same chime on Amazon for $25. I did end up buying a small gift for my daughter.

The beet salad was refreshing. The lettuce was a little wilted but not terrible. The rock shrimp pasta was flavorful and the seafood was very tender. Came with a big portion of pasta that I requested on the side. My maple duck breast was amazing. Big piece with crispy skin and juicy meat. The seasoning was right. The mashed potatoes were smooth and fluffy. It also came with a small order of bread and the cornbread pieces were great. I'm sure the dine in experience would've made everything even better.

I knew the food was going to be good because they were jam packed on a Tuesday! They have a large variety of specialty cocktails and a full bar. I enjoyed a specialty drink and then switched to prosecco. My server, Sarah, was outstanding and provided top notch service. They start you off with a yummy sweet cornbread service. I ate too much of the bread! For my meal, I started with the steak tartare and it was excellent, high quality beef. I then moved onto the chargrilled oysters which were a 1000/10! Amazing flavor... the blend of the butter and 3 cheeses was perfect! I then had the best pork chop I've ever eaten in my life. They brine it for 24 hours in a sweet tea mixture... I was thinking that would taste weird or sweet but it was neither. The chop was simply the most divine, juicy and flavorful pork chop I have ever consumed. Words can't express the deliciousness! It was 10000000/10. The chop was paired with the best grits I've ever had. I take grits seriously as a southern woman and those were magnificent. Restaurant was very clean. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The manager worked the room all night attending to guests and making sure everyone was happy. I highly recommend and will absolutely be back!!

Food a bit above basic but great choice of cocktails and really pleasant service. I had dark and stormy made with Bermuda rum followed by Waldo's lager. Unfortunately but understandably in unique but plastic glasses. Baked Brie good without being exceptional. The pittsburger burger had fries, slaw and meat in a sandwich. A first for me but good. Coconut shrimp good and 12 of them. Strongly recommend eating and drinking at this historic venue. The restirant is arrived at through car park of " resort". Do not be put off

Our waiter came across as both rude and inattentive, making us feel more like an inconvenience than paying customers. Basic requests felt like a burden to her, and her attitude only added to the discomfort of the evening. What made matters worse was the restaurant's refusal to close the door, despite strong, freezing winds blowing directly into the dining area. It was genuinely uncomfortable to sit there, and rather than addressing the issue, the staff seemed completely unconcerned. One member of our party actually had to wrap themselves in a blanket just to stay warm, which is something you would never expect to deal with while dining out. As for the food, it didn't justify the price point at all. Everything was noticeably overpriced for what you receive, especially considering the lack of care in both service and atmosphere. When you combine the poor service, uncomfortable environment, and inflated prices, it's hard to find any reason to return. Overall, Waldo's missed the mark in nearly every category. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, but this was anything but.

The food was really good too- I definitely recommend the grouper sandwich and pretzel appetizer. It's also family friendly with an arcade and kids specials. Also, we ate inside so we didn't experience this, but we heard it can get a little loud outside with the live music so just keep that in mind... but this was my family's second time here and if/when I'm back in Vero Beach, I'll be sure to return!

We were seated outside, which was fine, but from there everything went downhill. The service was extremely slow and inattentive. It was difficult to get drinks refilled, and it felt like our table was forgotten for most of the meal. The food was just as disappointing. Several meals arrived lukewarm, the quality was poor, and nothing really stood out as worth the price. It's frustrating because this restaurant used to be one of our favorite places to eat in Vero Beach, but each visit seems to get worse instead of better. The beachfront location is still beautiful, but great views can only make up for so much. Based on this experience, we'll be taking our business elsewhere.

We grabbed seats at the bar so we could explore the menu and cocktail list. If you enjoy wine or spirits, prepare to be impressed. Their selection is absolutely massive. I kicked things off with the Spicy Smoked Old Fashioned. Garnished with a cinnamon stick and dried apple slice, it had a warm holiday feel but was delicious enough to enjoy any time of year. For appetizers, we shared the Calamari Fries, and they were outstanding. We also tried the Beauty and the Beast sushi roll. The flavors were excellent, although the nori was a little chewier than I prefer. For our entrée, we split the Seafood Fra Diavola, and it was the highlight of the evening. The seafood was fresh, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and it had just the right amount of heat without overpowering the dish. To finish, we shared a huge slice of Key Lime Pie, which was the perfect ending to a great meal. Overall, Polo Steak & Sea delivered a memorable dining experience with creative cocktails, an incredible wine and spirits selection, and excellent food. Thanks to my daughter for the birthday gift! We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu and the libations.
