    Fried chicken and bacon club

EXCELLENT! A friend and I stopped for lunch those afternoon and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and presentation of our orders. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable and the food was great! We ordered a chicken philly and a chicken, bacon club. We WILL be back!

Full bar, great brunch on Sunday from 9am to 1 pm

Ok. So I found this little gem in Apopka, Florida. What fun. Staff was on point, the bartender pours a mean drink. Mimosa and bloody Marys were flowing. Chef Keith kept the all you can eat bar and cook to order stuff moving, they never missed a beat. If you're in the area stop by and see Chef Keith and have a healthy adult beverage.

We had a long day ahead and needed something with sustenance and of good taste and flavor. What a great choice we made choosing Breakfast Barn Country Kitchen! Michelle was phenomenal!!!She was attentive and made sure we were taken care of while dining in and with providing everything we needed for our to-go order! We both ordered the Papa's Waffle Platter. I had the Cinnaroll Lovers Waffle (no sugar glaze) and Mom had the Plain Malted Waffle. Scrambled Eggs and Bacon accompanied the waffles. We had refillable coffee while there. To-go we had Orange Juices, a Meatloaf meal and the Cranberry Crunch Salad. Everything was delicious. The Papa's Waffle Platter was very filling as we had hope. We only ate half of our waffles and also took those to go. We had taken in and enjoyed some of the restaurant decor. One of the items on the wall had a list suggested of rules for life. We stopped to read it as we leaving. The list reminded me of a conversation we had just earlier than morning. Positive affirmations and good advice received! Later in the evening, I had the Cranberry Crunch Salad. It was so good. The Raspberry Vinaigrette complimented the salad well. We hope to return to visit Michelle and Breakfast Barn again!!!

No exterior sign at all. Found my way inside and it took a few moments to be acknowledged. That's ok, baristas were busy, I get it. I was slightly underwhelmed at the dark interior. It was no where near as clean or charming as I had expected. Once greeted, I asked if I could have my Americano in a mug instead of a to-go cup. [Insert confused face here]. Apparently this was a tough request. Once we cleared this up, payment was processed and I took a seat at a booth. Coffee order was brought out in a small plastic cup. Yes- plastic cups. Mmmm, hot liquid served in plastic is my fav. (I'm kidding of course) worse yet, the coffee was straight up awful. Truly, it was bad and I hate to even say this. I know a small biz needs all the love it can get and I REALLY wanted to love this place. I even had an extra shot of espresso added and this drink wasn't even as good as a gas station. I'm a huge espresso lover. I have a fancy machine at home but I love to support coffee shops when I'm out running errands. There are very rare times that I have negative comments. Sadly, this was one of those rare occasions. On the bright side- clean restrooms & fun art on the walls. And I was able to snap some cute shots with a retro filter.

It feels like a place you actually want to hang out at, not just grab food and leave. Heads up: come early because they run out of their specialty cream cheeses fast, especially the garlic and chive. Definitely worth it though.

Despite being busy, the service was great. Very attentive. We had the bacon and cheese biscuits with house made pimento cheese to start. Everything was delicious! The biscuits were fresh, warm, and flavorful. The menu had fun names for their entrées, and I can't remember mine, but I ordered fried grit cakes topped with fried green tomatoes and a perfectly cooked egg that when popped, oozed delicious yellow yolk over the beautiful creation. It came with a side of bacon and I chose bacon maple biscuit. You definitely have to try the bacon maple biscuit, it is like dessert! So delicious. We will definitely come back and try more!

The jalapeño cheddar biscuit was a little dry, but they do give you butter that would probably make that better. The Texas brisket was deliciously seasoned, and tasted like the perfect combo of barbecue and breakfast with that smoke taste I had a cup of chili and it was loaded with brisket meat light on beans and had the perfect blend of cheese and sour cream. I would definitely see you wanting to come back and have it again during our short Florida winter. Lots of parking and they offer seating, both indoor and out. They're pet friendly on the porch.

Generous seating and calm, peaceful music make for a very intimate setting to enjoy with dinning companions. We started off with the Charcuterie platter. Beautifully prepared and served/explained by Chef John. This included an oven fresh baguette, served in its own delightful paper bag. For entrées we shared the Beef Bourguigon, and Ratatouille. Both were delicious. I have so much respect for Chef John. Operating a small high end restaurant in 2026, must be the toughest job around. From the competition around him, the high cost of quality specialty foods, rent, staff and providing experiences. You can feel the love in every bite. Go treat yourself to a wonderful dinning experience. A Votre Sante' Chef John.

That level of care is increasingly rare, and it deserves real credit. Where the experience faltered, unfortunately, was the food. The prefix menu included many dishes, but most missed the mark. They felt lackluster, missing the depth, seasoning, or execution that would match the charm of the service. Nothing was outright bad, but nothing stood out either. It's the kind of meal that leaves you wishing the kitchen's ambition matched the front‑of‑house enthusiasm. It may have been an off night, but there was only one other couple in the place on a Friday dinner service, so that may have been a sign up front.

A quaint little town northwest of Orlando…read more There's shopping, some nice little restaurants, and a big ol' lake that you can rent a catboat on and drive it around. That's what we did that morning. Ambiance was great. It felt like each little dining area was a different room in a big, semi-haunted mansion. Eclectic books and paintings and mirrors and other baubles adorned much of the walls, making for plenty of looking around time during you meal. Very fun. Service was really good. The pacing of the meal was great, and our server was very friendly. We were always with drink, and she knew the menu backwards and forwards, even the special dishes of the night. As for the food, we went whole hog with two apps, two mains, and a dessert to share. Out of everything we ordered, only one of them remains on the current menu, which is a great sign. I love a rotating, seasonal menu. It shows effort, and it definitely encourages return patronage. We started with the Ciabatta Board (toasted ciabatta, house butter made with sun dried tomato, roasted red pepper, parmesan, garlic, chive). This was nice. It was very sun dried tomato, so if you don't like them, don't get this. But very soft, toasty bread made this very lovely. We also got an escargot app which was very creamy and soup-like. The snails were complimented well by the spinach. And the whole thing came with a nice little breadstick. I saved some of the bread from the board for some sopping. Pro move. For our mains, we got a miso butter New York strip and some sort of Asian themed duck. For both mains, the proteins were cooked very very well, and the portion sizes were a good size compared to what I was expecting. Both sets of taters were good. The mash was very smooth and creamy, the roasted baby potatoes were cooked all the way through and were nice and naturally buttery. Both were served with a seasonal veg mix that was pretty ok. It rounded out the plate, but it won't change your world or anything. We finished off with one of the best slices of cheesecake I've ever had. Incredibly smooth with the perfect cheesecake density, the perfect amount of chocolate chips inside, and a nice little crust that added that little bit of texture that is needed from the crust. Overall, quite a meal! To survive in a small town with these prices and those quality ingredientes and that unique of a menu design is very impressive. I will certainly be back.

Cons: Not a single con. A great little visit. Tips: The menu has completely changed since we went, which is good, so I can't recommend any specific dishes.
