Our table shared the Asian Seared Ahi Tuna - Sesame crusted grade A tuna seared rare, sliced over seaweed salad with wasabi, pickled ginger garlic teriyaki glaze & Chinese white sauce which was great. I had to try the Crispy BBQ Pork Belly - Slow roasted sweet & spicy pork belly glazed with house BBQ sauce over sautéed red onion with scallion & julienne pickled ginger, which was a little different than expected. It was more dry and less fatty for an appetizer like this and as unexpected as it was, I actually liked it that way. I also mananged a chicken dumpling soup that was on special. Wow! I could have made a meal out of this one. Heavy, almost like a chowder. I split the main with someone else at the table. We turned the special blackened mahi mahi and the 16oz Boneless Prime Ribeye - Tender, rich & juicy with an extremely smooth texture. Removed from the bone for easy carving, this robust flavored steak eats like butter, into a surf and turf for the both of us. The sides were shared as well. Steamed Broccoli Florets, Smashed Yukon Gold Potatoes, Sweet Potato Fries Drizzled with Honey, and Bacon Roasted Brussels Sprouts. All of which were amazing. It was a lot of food. Took about half home and I believe it was actually great value for the price. For a place in a strip mall that looks like nothing much from the outside, I really enjoyed the complete experience here. So we've been my number of different times now and and this visit I actually made it past the stakes in the menu. I noticed that they have a 12 oz hamburger, 12 oz! Not only was it one hefty 3/4 lb Burger but it had gorgonzola bacon jam onions more bacon it was so freaking good I have a problem now as I have to figure out if I'm going to get the 12 oz ribeye the prime ribeye or if I want to get one of their badass burgers. What an amazing time we had at the Back Room. It wasn't upscale but it was relaxed and comfortable. Our server was friendly and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised with every drink we ordered as well as the food. Apps were the braised short rib egg rolls. They were big, filled with beef, hot and flavorful. We also ordered the sticky Korean pork belly, and just wow! Sticky and delicious. After eating those apps, we could barely finish our meal. For entrees we ordered the seared baby lamb chops. About a week ago, I ordered the filet mignon and lobster tail with a loaded baked potato, and it was absolutely amazing--perfectly cooked and worth every penny. That great experience made me excited when my husband suggested we order from Backroom Steakhouse again tonight for a cozy movie night at home. As always, the service was excellent and the atmosphere welcoming when we picked up our food. Unfortunately, the meal itself was a huge disappointment compared to last week. I ordered my filet mignon medium-well, but it came out so undercooked and bloody that I ended up throwing most of it away. The lobster tail, on the other hand, was the opposite--overcooked and tough, nothing like the tender, flavorful dish I had before. We spent $223 on this meal, and it was frustrating to have to toss my steak in the trash. I didn't bother calling to complain because I didn't want to drive all the way back for a replacement. Honestly, Backroom Steakhouse has always been a bit hit-or-miss for me. When it's good, it's fantastic, but the inconsistency makes it hard to rely on. I usually order the same thing, so the difference in quality is disappointing. For now, I'll be taking a break from ordering here. We had a nice experience at this steakhouse overall for magical dining. The service was excellent--our waiter was attentive, accommodating, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. We really enjoyed the appetizers, especially the Short Rib Egg Rolls with tender braised beef and cabbage paired with the ginger beer dipping sauce, as well as the classic Shrimp Cocktail, which was fresh and flavorful. My husband ordered the salmon and really enjoyed it. I ordered the steak, which was cooked well, but I wasn't overly impressed with the preparation--it seemed like it may have been cooked on a flat top, which gave it a slightly unusual texture for a steakhouse cut. The highlight at the end of the night was dessert. We loved everything we tried, and the Key Lime Pie in particular stood out--you can definitely tell it's made in-house with fresh ingredients. I came here for the magical dining option. The service was really good, especially because we arrived earlier than expected, but they gave us a table right away. The place is loud, so a bit hard to listen my partner while having a conversation. Also, the restroom was a bit dirty. I tried the short ribs egg rolls, by themselves they lacked flavor but it comes with a beer dipping sauce that enhance the flavor a lot. For the main course I went for the upgraded 16 oz ribeye. It was cook medium rare perfectly, but it didn't have any flavor. The fries and mushrooms also lacked flavor. Fortunately they have salt and pepper on the table. Although I was not feeling well, as he had gave me his cold, I still made the reservation and got ready to go! Decided to pop into this neighborhood steakhouse for Prime Rib Night on Sunday. Made a last minute reservation for 4 with no issue. We were seated within 5-7 min of arrival in a booth as requested. Bread and butter was brought to the table right away. More bread and butter was delivered to the table with no issue. A delightful server by the name of Sierra, waited on us while also attending the bar. She did it flawlessly and her personality was upbeat through the whole meal. 3 of us got the Prime Rib and one of us ordered the NY strip. Everyone's meal was great. Maybe a little too much salt on the Prime Rib for my taste, but otherwise everything was great. The desserts on the menu looked fabulous but we were all too full to try them. And I'm confused on whether or not they have a cash register. My mom paid cash and or waitress was stressed trying to find change. She asked other servers. But it took about 8 minutes to get. We have never had a bad meal at Back Room. The steaks are flavorful and delicious. This time I ordered the prime boneless ribeye and it's probably my all time favorite from this restaraunt. This is a very delayed review as I thought I already wrote one! We dined at Back Room Steakhouse over the summer after learning about it from Orlando Weekly. We don't go to Apopka much at all but it sounded good so we figured we'd take the drive out there. Back Room is very unassuming, it's located in a modest shopping plaza, easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. My boyfriend and I each ordered an Old Fashioned (they have many varieties of Old Fashioneds if thats your thing) and elected to do the Bite30 menu. Like I said, this review is overdue but Bite30 includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. We each ordered our meals and bread was also delivered to our table. The portions of all items were great and the taste was excellent too. We both got steaks (because you kind of have to at a steakhouse, right?) which were cooked correctly and I got the short rib egg rolls for appetizer. My BF got the coconut shrimp for his app, we were both impressed! I'm so happy that we learned about Back Room, its a bit of a drive but now we know it's worth it! read more

I have been wanting to try this local steakhouse. They participated in Magical Dining this year. What a great time to try their menu! This is located at the end of a shopping center. There is ample parking. I did make a reservation online. Upon entering, we were quickly seated. The restaurant is dark and has an elegant dining feel on one side and pub/sports bar on the other. Our server was amazing. We chose to order off the Magical Dining menu. All items are normal menu size except for the artichoke dip. It is a smaller portion than usual. We started with the artichoke dip and the short rib egg rolls. I really liked the egg rolls. They were jam packed with meat and I loved the sweet chili dipping sauce. The bread with olive oil was good also. We both ordered a strip steak that was cooked well. The veggies were bland. We ended with key lime pie and the chocolate earthquake. Went to Backroom with my wife and friends. Everyone had been in the hospitality industry at one time . I am a corporate Chef and once owned a fine dining Steakhouse downtown Orlando. Food and service were amazing. We all said it was the best steak/ meal we have had in many years. Not pretentious at all . Owner was waking the dining room talking to guests. Amazing magical dining experience! Loved the service and the food! The braised beef eggrolls were so good and meaty. The coconut shrimp (6) were yummy. They had been on my bucket list for awhile and I came here for a combo Valentine's Day and birthday. Here is how I rate the meal: Service: A+ Caleb did an amazing job and there were always others around if our water glasses needed refilling or to take a dish away. Fried green tomatoes with goat cheese: A+ They had me at goat cheese! I thing these wet the best fried green tomatoes I've ever had (don't forget to check in and get 50% off the price of your appetizer). 10 Oz New York strip (medium): A+ I ordered mine medium but it was closer to medium rare. I'm okay because it was amazing and they must have known better than me! ‍ I think it's the best New York strip that I've had. Water: A+ This is weird to rate the water but you don't always get good water in Florida but this was very good. Grey Goose dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives: A It was a good martini but could have used more olive juice. Hard to complain when the server has to walk very slowly because the glass is so full. Baked potato: A Good size and well cooked with plenty of butter and sour cream. Atmosphere: B The atmosphere doesn't really match the prices. Caesar salad: C I found the taste of the dressing very off putting and it looked like it was just thrown together with very little thought. This could be much nicer and better tasting.
