How have I not given our local park the Yelp treatment yet??!?…read more Lexington was the answer to Oak Knoll being outgrown, we are a city of recreation and competitive sports, and if you build it, we will use it to its fullest potential. Lexington is proof! This park, at its core, is two large sized football/soccer fields that can be divided up for smaller league kid games. One field is natural grass, the other a composite. The entire park is well lit because of the night games that are played there, which makes for an overall inviting and safe experience - and I never see the park empty, it's always in use. Surrounding the fields are a running track that circles the distance of the park, a large playground area, seating for the parents, oh, a large set of bleachers for the FNL and soccer games. A workout area in the back with a circuit style set of arm/leg machines. Pickleball and basketball courts, a general area with covered seating for picnics and gatherings, and a large parking lot area that, although large, can be found filled on busy days. Overall this is a good park and a great addition to our cities lineup. We come here often to do sports or use their other various facilities. :)

My only complaint is the playground is truly geared for older kids 2.5-3years + older. I feel with such a large project, the city of Cypress could have added a few other features to make it friendly for under 3yr olds - it's literally only 1 small slide for the littles - no steering wheel to drive, or any features to fidget with, or twist, turn, pull or other. I guess it was the last thing in their budget. All in all, it is a huge upgrade to the city of Cypress and we love walking here and that they have doggy bags for when our pupp finds a couple potty spots.

They took over a giant covered outdoor area with a ton of picnic tables, clean and open and perfect for a large party (I assume they had to rent this). I've been to a lot of parks over the years, and most of them don't have comparable event spaces. The one disadvantage was that we were far away from the playground, much to the chagrin of my three-year-old, who kept demanding to leave the party in favor of the play structure he saw in the distance. Liberty Park is just a huge place with several different zones. We even switched parking lots once we got there and figured out where the actual party was, on the Camp Liberty side of the park. The party was really nice, pleasant and relaxing. We had lunch, watched the dohl ceremonies (he grabbed the stethoscope, securing his future as a doctor), took pictures, and hung out with family. Then, because I'm not a monster, I took my boy to the playground. It was a great playground, well maintained and pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Fewer kids, in fact, than teenagers working out and playing loud music nearby. I'm not complaining. In fact, my child was fascinated by their music and got as much entertainment from their speakers as he did from the play structure. I don't live anywhere near Cerritos, but if I did, I'd make good use of Liberty Park. What a lovely neighborhood resource, for both special events and everyday recreation.

Highly recommend these courts for pickleball too because there are a lot of courts, friendly players and it's not too advanced of play. Been coming for the last three months and I see the same players all the time. Only downside of playing pickleball here is that the courts close at like 8pm-8:30pm which is actually atrocious. I forget exactly. When I run to the restroom from the tennis/pickleball area, which looks exactly like your average park restroom. I see people on the playground and other pickleball courts (3 in the middle) (2 on side). The track is crowded too! The parking does get full in the evening so you may need to park on the street.

There are 8 courts and they are all divided, but the center part is open so make sure to call "ball on" when your ball goes into another court. tl,dr: pretty great place for pickleball…read more Likes: + Clean park. + For the most part, friendly ambience. + Huge parking lot. + Powerful water bottle refill station. Strongest hydration spout I've ever seen at a public park. Water station, use Hydro Cannon! + Thankfully this pball area is located close to the freeway 55. Non-likes: - The restrooms don't have paper towels. Gotta dry your hands on your shirt. Cuz blowdryers add warmth to the moisture that's already on your hands, causing the bacteria to proliferate. - Restroom toilet paper is extra thin. - The middle pickleball courts (2, 3, 6, 7) lack benches, so I suggest bringing your own chairs. - There aren't barriers between consecutive pickleball courts (eg, between 1 and 2), so there're a lot of ball-on interferences. The 10 courts at Tustin School (1.3 mi away) got this part right. - I don't like that the open-play hours are very limited: only 12-4pm everyday. The reservation hours (7am-noon, 4-10pm) are too much of a business model.
