UPDATE: After I spoke to Nationwide's shop manager this morning, Whitakers is going to set us up with a rental car for the day while they fix the issues we have with their work. Hopeful the end result will be better than this initial experience. --- We spent 20 days without our car and when we got it back the work wasn't great. We were merged into on a major road in Austin and needed the driver's side door replaced. The other person was at fault and insurance covered it, but instead of taking our MINI to the body shop we've used before, we used Whitakers because they were covered by Nationwide's lifetime warranty and because they offered their own. Plus the rest of the reviews are really good. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite of most every review we read. We were first told our car would be done at the beginning of the week by one person, before another person later told us at the end of the week. We had to proactively call about our car because we weren't kept up-to-date on its progress. When my wife would call, the project manager would sound annoyed that we were calling yet again. Over the course of this repair, our pickup date was delayed at least 3 times. When we called at the end of the week (because Whitakers rarely called us with an update), we were told the car was in the wash bay but had an airbag light on -- something it hadn't come in with -- that needed to be sorted out by calling a specialist. When our PM called later that day he said it came down to a shorted wire or a circuit board not having been plugged in when the door was put back together. This was a Friday and Whitakers isn't open on the weekend. So we were delayed an entire weekend. Come Monday, we called around 1pm and were told the airbag light was being fixed. Our PM called at 3:30pm to tell us that a clip that holds the interior trim panel to the door had been broken "from taking it off and putting it back on too many times" and that they needed to get a part from MINI but that it'd be ready first thing -- at 11am -- the next morning. So that delayed our pickup another day. We called Monday at 11:30am, since we hadn't heard from anyone, and were told the car was ready and was being detailed and that we could come by at 2pm to pick it up. I was unavailable so my wife went and endured 10 minutes of what felt like a lecture from one of the owners, and then waited another 20 minutes for the car to be ready. And when she got the keys she was told, "We fixed that horn issue for you." What horn issue?!?! We didn't have a horn issue when it came in and were never told about one. So, we have our car back, but the work is not good. The interior trim panel buckles at the top where it meets the interior window weather seal and there is a wide gap at the bottom, approximately 3x the width of the factory-installed panel on the passenger side. To top it off, there's an issue with some of the weather seal causing wind and outside noises to be a lot louder than they were before. Whitakers' work carries a lifetime warranty, but I'm worried when the initial work took so long and isn't perfect and when the customer service has been mostly non-existent. I cannot in good conscience recommend Whitakers to anyone. Austin businesses, kindness toward your customers and admitting your mistakes can go a very long way toward mending our shattered expectations.

Two words: UNPROFESSIONAL and DECEITFUL…read more I truly don't know where to begin. I despise writing a poor review for a locally-owned business, but after months of being led-on and ignored, I am writing this in hopes of saving someone else's precious time. My husband was in a car wreck in October 2025. The person who rear-ended him has terrible insurance, so we decided to file a claim through our insurance, Allstate. Capital City Collision provided us a quote that our insurance did not agree with. An Allstate negotiator went back and forth with the shop. Part of the issue was my husband's truck had after-market parts that were damaged. Our Allstate negotiator, Elizabeth, called us to confirm that she was able to get funds approved by her manager and they reached an agreement on pricing with the shop. A check for $2,207.66 was sent to the shop to start ordering parts. According to Allstate, the shop cashed the check on January 20th. It is now March 19th and the shop still has yet to reach out. I have tried calling the shop multiple times in the last two months. Each time I call, they answer and hang-up immediately. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe they are busy. I tried calling the shop today, and again, same situation: answer, then hang up. I thought to myself, "hmm... maybe they really are ignoring our calls?" So I waited 15 minutes and called back with a blocked number. What do you know... Catherine decided to pick up and answer this time! She kept me on hold for 9 minutes before taking me off hold and hanging up on me immediately. I called back, and a man answered. He transferred me up to Catherine, who kept me on hold for 4 minutes this time and hung up immediately. While I was on hold the second time, I received a text message saying they wouldn't do business with us. They ignored my text, asking when they planned on returning the check they cashed for $2,207.66. My husband and I have been trying to get his truck fixed since October 2025. It is now March 2026. I understand that our insurance was being difficult to work with... we were annoyed by Allstate, too! That being said, Capital City Collision could have rejected our business months ago, instead of stringing us along. Rather than sending this text message 5 months ago when this all started, they chose to dodge our calls and waste our time. Unprofessional does not even begin to describe their behavior. They were avoidant, deceptive, thieving, and rude.

I would never recommend Alfredo Collision to anyone…read more I brought my vehicle to this shop after a collision that affected the rear passenger-side wheel. The repair required replacing certain parts related to the suspension and wheel area. Unfortunately, my experience with this place was extremely frustrating from beginning to end. From the start, the woman working there who identifies herself as the Accounting Manager was rude, unprofessional, and very unhelpful. She behaved as if she owned the business, yet showed very little competence or willingness to resolve issues. I even asked to speak with the owner, Alfredo, and was given incorrect information about who the owner actually was. The biggest problem is that my vehicle was returned to me in worse condition than before the repair. After picking it up, the car started making loud noises that it never had before. This makes me seriously question the quality of the work performed. It also explains why they never wanted to provide any warranty for their labor. In addition, the shop kept my vehicle longer than expected and still attempted to charge $50 per day in late fees, which I find completely unreasonable considering the delays and the condition in which my car was returned. At this point, I plan to have my vehicle independently inspected to verify the quality of the work performed. If the inspection confirms my concerns, I will take the appropriate legal action. It is very disappointing to see a business treat customers this way. I honestly believe the owner may not be aware of how poorly this place is being managed and how much damage this type of behavior is doing to the reputation of the shop. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this place look elsewhere for repairs.

There was a huge gap in the middle and then on each side of the fender and it was driving me nuts every time I saw it. I tried reaching out to several highly rated shops online including American Autobody. I either got no reply to my email about it or even in one case, the shop owner said his toyota had the same issue and he wasn't sure how to fix it. American Autobody responded and told me to come by so they could take a look which I did a few days later. They seemed confident they could make it look quite a bit better so after a few months of waiting, I scheduled time to get it in the shop and also decided to have them remove a door ding from my driver's side. The door ding is completely gone and the bumper looks so much better. The people at the shop were friendly and the price wasn't bad either. Next time I have a need for any body work or if anyone asks me of a good body shop, I'll be referring them to these guys. Pics attached of the original issue.

My insurance company wanted me to go to their "preferred" body shop but after looking at their reviews, I decided to do my own search for customer feedback on south Austin body shops and came across City Collision. I'm glad I did! I found City Collision and took my car over to see Travis. He even found additional work that needed to be done that my insurance company's inspector had missed. He contacted the appraiser and got the additional repairs authorized and was very quick in making the needed repairs. When I first arrived, I saw that this shop didn't have a bunch of employees so I thought that it might take a while to get my car back. I was a bit concerned because I didn't have rental reimbursement on my insurance policy so I was paying out of pocket for my rental. I told Travis about this and he assured me that he would get my car finished as soon as possible. He didn't disappoint! It was completely done in only 3 days (not counting the delay from my insurance company about authorizing the additional repairs which was out of his control). The front end of my car looks better than before I hit the coyote! It looks like it's brand new right off of the showroom floor! Awesome work! I highly recommend taking your vehicle to see Travis at City Collision if you're in need some repairs either minor or major.
