This is my second order with White Castle, where the food wasn't up to par. The first order, they forgot my sandwiches the bag was covered in grease and I ended up getting sick off of the chicken Parmesan white castles, I was sent a $10 gift card for the inconvenience so I decided to use it today for breakfast, well, you could tell that the hashbrowns were cooked in old oil. Crave Case to the rescue! I was joining a potluck extra late due to a scheduling conflict and had to think of something I could pick up quickly. Good thing White Castle was on the way. I ordered on the app before I left home and the crave case was ready for pick up soon after I arrived. Perfect ordering experience! Now, the burger was not quite as good as I remembered from my last visit. The bread was not as pillowy soft. But the jalepeno cheese was on point. Still delicious. On my way home from dropping my husband off at the airport, I wanted to treat myself to some sliders. It was 3:44 AM and what better place to go than the Castle!? The person at the speaker sounded like a good mumble rapper, but sucked at taking my order. I pulled to the first drive thru window and didn't see any signs of life inside. After waiting a couple of minutes, I pulled to window #2 and waited. A young B/M took my card, without saying a word, and I waited for my order. 1, 2, 3 cars were queued behind me. I was like as two of the cars pulled out and scowled at me. I would have gladly pulled forward, but no employee was in sight. Keep in mind, I ordered a sack of cheeseburgers that were an advertised special and a breakfast sandwich. Nothing crazy. At 4:03 AM Mr. Sunshine handed me me bag, not saying a WORD and shut the window. I was friendly. I wasn't intoxicated (many customers are at that time of day). I didn't deviate from the basic menu. I get that working the drive thru at White Castle at the wee hours of the morning isn't the most glamorous thing, but come on... Thanks? Hi? Sorry for the wait? Here you go? ANYTHING?!?! Hands down the BEST White Castle location! The household had a late night Sunday craving around 10pm, so we zipped up to our go to spot... WHITES! Can never go wrong. The drive-thru was busy per usual, but moved quickly. Ordered 10 cheeseburgers (3 jalapeño and 7 regular cheese), onion chips, French fries, 3 piece mozzarella stick, and 6 piece onion ring. We waited no more than 10 minutes for our order. The gentleman at the window was nice and friendly, and I believe he was in training. He handled the busyness well. I handed him a few coupons and he kindly adjusted my bill total. I'm all about any savings I can take advantage of these days. Restaurant is always lit up well and appears to be clean. While driving over to Burlington, I passed by this White Castle. It occurred to me that I have never been to a White Castle before. So, I decided to fetch some dinner and bring it back to my hotel room to eat. It was fitting that my first experience at White Castle was in Minnesota. The first time I ever had White Castle cheeseburgers was getting a box of frozen ones at a grocery store in Rochester. They were already cooked and came with buns. I remember heating them up in the microwave. They were fine. It was nice to get the non-frozen version here. I ordered at the drive-thru. I got combo 2, which is the double cheese sliders. By default, they comes with onions and pickles. I got fries as my side. I also wanted a shake instead of a fountain drink. The only milkshake flavour offered was chocolate. If you have another flavour in mind, you are out of luck. I went with it. The reason for my lower rating is the man at the drive-thru. He was fine, but he could not swipe my credit card to register payment if his life depended on it. I counted. It took him four tries. He ended up losing grip of my card at one point and it fell on the floor. I was not impressed. Swiping or inserting a credit card in a terminal should not be rocket science. It was to this guy. My food came fairly fast. I thanked him and drove back to the hotel. Each slider comes in its own little box. It was cute. I loved how delicate and flavourful the onions were in the burger. The bun was soft. The burger was yummy and enjoyable. This place serves crinkle-cut fries. Yummy. I could have used some ketchup, but I enjoyed them. The chocolate shake hit the spot. As much as I had wanted strawberry that was on the menu, but unavailable here, I liked the taste of this chocolate shake. I'd return again to try more food. So I just landed at the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport, and while on my way to Wisconsin, I needed to get a quick bite to eat. As I perused my freeway options, I noticed a white castle nearby. I hadn't been to White Castle in probably a dozen years, so I said, "why not?" I ordered the double cheese sliders, french fries, and an iced tea. The double cheese sliders, came with grilled onions and pickles. They were hot, and I was surprised that I really enjoyed them! The french fries were a little bland, and the iced tea had no surprises... And that's a good thing. I just left there and got home. Laid everything out and this happens. First of all, service was horrible. I waited at the drive through window after paying for my food, for over 8 minutes. The lady hands me a crave case. I didn't order a crave case. She shoots me a nasty look and takes it back and it takes another 3-4 mins for me to get my order. I get home and the food looks nasty and they got it wrong. The burgers I ordered was supposed to be no pickles, add ketchup. They added a pickle and didn't add ketchup. Then the breakfast egg sausage sandwich had blue dye all over the eggs and in the middle of the sausage patty (see pictures). Disgusting. No pictures on this trip, I was very hungry. This is my favorite place to stop in Inver Grove Heights for a quick bite to eat for nostalgia purposes and the crave. When I'm in the neighborhood and want something to eat that I shouldn't, this is usually my stop. I don't care what you say, the Fish Nibblers are delicious. I usually get a large and a drink when I stop in. The hidden gem here, though, are the breakfast sliders. The "Mc" place cannot hold a candle to the WC slider, at all. The one down side is that you always have to wait for them. I guess that's not really a down side, as you're eating a fresh-made sandwich. They use real eggs and everything is just so darn good. Sometimes the yolk is not a hard as I'd like. I suck it up and just keep it moving. Try one (or two, as I do), and you'll see what I mean. I asked for 2 1921 burgers and a dr pepper. The guy took my money, it wasn't until after that he told me they didn't have Dr Pepper, coke, sprite. I get my order... the fries are cold , and there are no tomatoes on the burgers. I brought the sandwiches back up and said excuse me aren't there supposed to be tomatoes. He then told me they did t have any that they ran out. I took two bites out of one before I realized there just are't ANY tomatoes on it. So when I was talking to the manager I asked if I could just get my money back because now with all the shenanigans I just wasn't feeling it. But the little girl at the drive through mottled in and said " he already ate them" so why would you give him his money back. So I brought the sandwich up and threw the other on in the trash. Here's a tip for if you're on the brink of starving to death and see 12+ cars in the drive thru and only 2 other customers in the lobby, dont be tempted to go and order inside. Those are the two same customers from the last hour still waiting for their orders (hoping the 15 year olds didn't forget they are still there). But if u go thru the drive thru, it might be a little wait but they're kinda forced to give u ur order that way. The fact im writing about how to make sure u even get the order u paid for without them forgetting u ordered should say a lot about the customer service. I've made 2 visits since I've been in Eagan and I've come away with 2 different experiences. Both times I used the drive-thru, so I can't comment on how the place looks. But the sign is iconic and despite having zero White Castles in Hampton Roads seeing those words provide some level of comfort and feelings of being home. My first visit was terrible. They had TWO employees working on a late Tuesday night, so they were juggling taking orders in their lobby AND drive-thru, cooking and providing the food to customers. I waited a good 10 minutes next to their drive-thru menu just to order, then waited another 15-20 minutes to get my food. It sucked that those 2 people had to run the store by themselves, but gimme my damn food... and fast (must go faster). The only reason I didn't leave is because it was very late and I couldn't find another place nearby which was open. Besides, when you're visiting an unfamiliar town you have no sense of what's open late and what's worth visiting. I was hungry and tired from a long flight, so this would have to suffice. My second visit was much more enjoyable. Using the drive-thru again, I was in and out in about 5 minutes. It probably would've been a shorter visit but there was a line of cars wrapped around the building. Considering, they rocked it out as if they were Chick-fil-a or something, and I came away impressed. In regards to White Castle, I firmly believe their food is more iconic than good. But I like them enough to want their sliders, while Harold, Kumar and the Beastie Boys always have me remembering them. I sent out a mass text to my family last summer while visiting saying "Hubby has never had Castles, meet at 530" About 20 peeps showed up and we got busy. The staff didn't flinch when we walked in and ordered crave case after crave case. This Castle has been remodeled and looks great the floor is very slippery though, beware! It was a fun family meal, they have the originals and fries and some new additions to the menu. Pepper jack cheese anyone? mozzarella sticks baby? This was our first experience with White Castle. My wife and I ordered their regular sliders (number 1), an order of the fish nibblers, a bacon slider, chicken rings (for my 4-year old), and a chicken and waffle slider. The slider was on the plain side (a heap of onions and one lonely pickle). My 4-year old (who is picky) ended up loving the burger. My wife (who is not a fan of onions) did not care for it. I ended up getting the rights to the bacon slider as it had too many onions for my wife's liking. I thought that the bacon was a nice addition to the slider. My wife LOVED the chicken and waffle slider. My daughter enjoyed playing with the chicken rings (using them as glasses), but didn't really care for them. The item that we all loved were the fish nibblers. It is by far the best fast food fish that we have had. We ended up buying a second helping to enjoy in the car on our road trip. read more

White Castle has been a Mid-Western staple in the fast food industry for over fifty years and so I made sure it was on my must visit places while in town. The order taker was helpful, but definitely went for the gold when trying to up sell me on what seemed like five or six side items. I knew what I wanted and was a little annoyed by the questions. I was distracted by the fact that one could order a "sack of fries" for a reasonable price. A "sack of fries" seems like a good idea for those dining with more than two people. But enough about the fries. I ordered two cheeseburger sliders, two chicken breast sliders and four original sliders to share. All of them had the expected amount of toppings and were fully cooked. These sliders are cooked via steam and not just on a grill, like most burgers. I was happy to have enjoyed a few White Castle sliders, while I was in town. Kudos to White Castle for appealing to the vegan crowd. This is one of the last places I thought I'd find a vegan option but was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I hate to give a bad review because the two gentlemen working were really great. One who I caught his name, Larry, I think. Anyway, it was my family's first visit to White Castle. We were excited to try the burgers everyone raves about. We ordered 10 plain... no onions, no pickles. When we looked at them they had pickles on. Apparently they took the order wrong. So they offered to fix it. The next round looked like they had onions on. So I asked at the counter. The woman, appeared to be a manager?, told me they are cooked with onions and can't guarantee completely no onions. Ok, no problem... so I take them back to the table. We open up the bun and see instead of making fresh ones, they just took the pickles off. Which is totally gross to people who don't like pickles... you can still taste it on the bun! Went back up again.... hoping they won't spit in our food at this point...and they made new ones. We ate a few but my husband insisted we just toss the rest because he was afraid they might have done something gross to them because we complained. Overall, it was really embarrassing. I don't like to complain but a plain burger is seriously like the easiest thing to not mess up.
