The reviews for this store are evenly dispersed along all the 5 stars., so many varied experiences across the board. This store looks larger and "more upscale" on the exterior, than most Goodwills, which are in lower-end older shopping centers. This store has too many items that don't have prices. Also items that are priced pretty high such as electrical tools, but their rechargeable batteries are always missing, or vacuum cleaner with the brush roller totally missing.. Of course, as with most thrift shops, so many things are priced more than new retail. But the staff here are quite willing to be helpful. Sundays are senior and military 25% discount, but today I got 50% discount,, due to yellow tag this week, so only one discount. I miss the days when all the Goodwills in AZ had 50% off everything in the store every other Saturday. That stopped during Covid and never brought back. To this day, at age 72, I never made more than $21,313 in any year I worked, in my life! I averaged less than $10,000. So I am grateful for Goodwill. I even bought many things to decorate an AirBnB rental, at various Goodwills, and other thrift shops. I can't pass one without going in to see what is a good deal that day. I just purchased a $45 (on Amazon) super light camping table that folds up, and legs retract, to the size of a school 3 ring binder. for $9 with my senior discount, that I found in the front of a Goodwill, by the window. I am so delighted with it, and love doing "show and tell" at each campsite, that I got it for $9. read more

Asked the lady working the cash register "hi what's the 50% off color for today?" She answered green. Great went about my shopping grabbing items with some seasonal Halloween green tags a water bottle $14.99 some plates $6.99 and a mug $7.99 my total is around $70. Wow wasn't planning on spending that asked about the 50% off then I was told by the same cashier oh not seasonal Halloween. Also how is it seasonal Halloween if it's the July! Like seriously you couldn't had told me the first time I asked! Such a waste of time then having to wait for a manger to remove the items. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would, first of all, all the clothes are not where they're meant to be. They're all scattered thrown through the store very disorganized, if that's not enough, they think just because they are Scottsdale location that they can treat customers poorly, Amber at the front desk, purposely ripped a tag off of a shirt to cause a problem with the manager, just to re-priced it and make it more expensive, the manager Anthony went around in circles and was just trying to dodge serious questions that we had, and was explaining policies that had nothing to do with our questions while he knew we had reservations somewhere, this place is disgustingly, greedy, rude and do not care about customers, to take a piece of clothing out of our hand, rip the tag on purpose and to reprise it is plain nasty, I bet she wanted to buy it after work as this wasn't the first time we've had an issue at this location specifically with Amber, in case you want to avoid her, she's the one who always wears a blue mask. read more

Explain why a typical T shirt here costs more than brand new at a department store when you have zero product cost? Greed has completely overtaken this company. Used items that others donate should benefit society by being at very least low cost to those who cannot afford new. The worst part is their false claim of charitability by "creating jobs". This Goodwill is located in The Pavillion shopping center. Entrance doors look nicer than a typical Goodwill. Interior is similar to any other Goodwill. Children's clothing was a little mixed up. I'm not sure if that was intentional. About 1/3 of the pants in the girl section were boy cut pants. The prices for pants in the girl's section were generally priced less than the pants found in the boy's section. My son found several pairs to purchase. Housewares were organized much better. While I only purchased one item for the department, there was a lot of interesting merchandise to look at. The only place I encountered employees was at the register. The person who checked me out was cheerful. Checkout was quick and easy. read more

I wish all of the Goodwills would stop putting knives on their shelves. Put them behind glass in a locked showcase or don't sell them at all. These knives can be reached by kids or a crazy person. This store is ice cold as well. read more

Worst goodwill. The women here are nasty beyond nasty. I came in 5 minutes to close to return something and the woman at the register barked at me in front of a huge line of people "NOPE. WE'RE CLOSED". I figured she didn't want me shopping so I told her that I just needed to return a few items and she barked "NOPE. THAT REGISTER IS ALREADY CLOSED. WE ARE CLOSED". Like as if you can't do a return on another register. The way she spoke to me was completely rude and disrespectful. This goodwill also price gouges as if they're a high end consignment store. Store was fairly clean but certain areas could use some tidying. There was crackers and cookies on the floor in the mens clothing area so it was very crunchy to walk around. Like some prior reviews, prices here do not equate to a thrift store. Some clothing were priced like a Ross or Tj maxx but with obvious tears and stains. No fitting rooms either so its kinda inconvenient if you dont live in the area and want to return. The blonde with glasses provided no greeting or even acknowledgement when ringing up my purchase. Saw me in line and kinda waved me over. Wasnt until I said "thank you" did she muster up a "youre welcome" afterwards. read more

I was emotionally and verbally accosted by and older employee. I'm a part time reseller. Today is $2 day and I was scrolling through the dresses. When an older lady with a think accent and glasses that works for Goodwill asks if I'm finding my size ok. I said no, I'm looking for the $2 tags. She said " A lot of men that can't find something in the mens dept comes to the women's to find something. I told her I was a reseller and she stood there. I asked her if I could help her. She replied saying something about Goodwill doing something for different people. That threw me. I asked her if I saw women looking in the mens dept, should I think the same. She replied saying something" Well you never know". I've never been treated so poorly in any retail establishment before. Not only did I report it to another team member, heard the lady get called back but yet returned to pulling clothes, not one supervisor came out to acknowledge, let alone apologize. There is zero diversity in this store! There are many things I could say to this employee, but my mother raised me right! read more

This goodwill has absolutely insane prices. There are very few exciting goods to find here, and when you do, they cost more than buying them new. For a moment you'd think I was at Fashion Square by looking at these price tags. Furniture prices here are ABSURD - i understand pricing vintage furniture higher than ikea goods, but nobody is looking to spend $150-$500 on furniture that needs a full restoration investment. Goodwill - please HUMBLE YOURSELF! These are donated goods not worth robbing the community that keeps your doors open. I will take my business to St Vincent De Paul true non-profit thrift stores in the valley, where my funds are actually invested in the betterment of the community and i'm not overcharged for broken goods. read more

Another typical overpriced Goodwill. Location was clean and very spacious with no nasty smells. Parking sucked. There were only two handicap spots and both were occupied. Are the days of "thrift store prices" long gone? I don't know who is pricing the stuff, but I saw a few items that were higher than what they sell for "NEW". A used T-shirt for $8.99?!! WTH! You can find NEW t-shirts at any discount retail big box chain store all day long for the same price...or less. I guess I will never understand how some shoppers get very territorial about about the thrifty finds they're hunting for. Some folks love to rummage and look at every single thing occupying the bagged stuff area and will almost joust you with their cart if you get too close. Weird. As long as swarms of junk shoppers continue to pay the high prices of donated goods, then these second hand retail chains will continue to overprice merchandise. read more

Prices at Goodwills have become ridiculous! These things are donated to them and on some things they are only a little bit cheaper than buying new at the store! Now they are even charging for bags!!! NO other stores make their customers purchase bags to put the merchandise they are purchasing in to! Some stores are dirty. At the GW on Scottsdale Rd & Thomas they let a homeless guy ride around the store on a bike. On a bike that was for sale! Then the guy walked over to the bed sheets and wiped his face on them. There was a very loud kid running around screaming. The employees were not even allowed to SAY anything! So to please the brat and his worthless mom 20 other people need to have to listen to this? An older lady was almost tripped by this kid running around. It was ridiculous! I'm so glad our government is being restored to common sense because these people sure need it! read more

3 stars because this location was slightly better than the first Goodwill location I stopped at in Scottsdale. This store is located in a shopping center with many other stores. There was plenty of parking. The people working at this location were pretty nice and weren't rude as I have experienced at other locations. I did find a cute Christmas ornament for $1.49, but other than that, I did not find anything else worth buying. The toy section was pretty sad - a majority of the toys were broken and dirty. The Reason I'm leaving a one star is not because of the service or the ambiance It's the fact that u allowed a foul human to crop dust the store and that stench was lingering. I know who did it but I couldn't confront him because if I got close I was scared I would pass out from the fart he let out . We had to run out of there because we couldn't take it anymore . I got screamed at for trying on a dress in front of a mirror. (Maybe open the fitting rooms?!!!) I was trying on a dress over my clothes and this older employee like 15 feet away from me goes "MA'AM... EXCUSE ME! You are not to try on clothes *anywhere* on the floor" Like she is doing the absolute most... there was a younger employee literally right next to me who didn't seem to care i was trying ONE dress on. I should've said back what are u gonna do call the cops? But I respect my elders so i shrugged it off and put the dress back on the rack. Everything is over priced anyways. I was absolutely shocked by the way I was just treated by the manager Daniel at the Indian Bend/ talking stick Goodwill store. I understand that every store has their own policies, but after having had two other locations honor a return that fell well outside of 7 days I assumed the same would be true here. It is concerning that a manager, who I would assume trains the employees there would, instead of explaining that different stores may have different policies, or explaining anything at all responded with "It has been more than 7 days and I will not do it, you can go to the store you bought it from". if I could translate tone, you might understand how rude this gentleman was. I am true fan of goodwill stores! I browse the book section everytime I come into local goodwill store. You can find gem between vast selections. I would suggest you take your time and look through all the books as you might find that rare book that has been on your list at very very reasonable price. I was able to walk out of this location with couple of books that I know would have costed me triple the price I paid. My tip to you when you see goodwill on the side of road stop and take look as you are giving back to their overall goal of helping people. You will mostly likely find something that you can save a lot of money in retail store. read more

It's a retail store and their CEO's make millions on donated merchandise. Now they want you to round up your payment which ALSO goes back to Goodwill, not any charitable organization. You can no longer try on clothes because they figured most people will not bother with returning the items so more money to them and less staff to hire. Very greedy and over-priced. It pains me that I cannot give thos Goodwill 5 Stars as it is THE best Goodwill I have ever visited, and I won't BS you, it IS because it is in Scottsdale and people in Scottsdale tend to have nicer more expensive things. The things I have found at this Goodwill are some of my favorite pieces of clothes AND ON TOP OF THAT I have found items such as a vintage Christian Dior cardigan, very well priced Levi's and Lucky's, AMAZING jackets (true 80's Members Only jacket in good condition, DKNY pin stripe blazer, imaginary foundation graphic tees, vintage furniture, etc) And their daily deals are to die for, but last time I went in to get some spring/summer shorts.. I brought some thing unwanted back with me which cost me $400+ and a lot of hassel. I can't blame Goodwill as it not like they can WASH every item that comes in, they say they do not accept thing that are not cleaned but that's bologna. People bring dirty things in, things with dried hard candy in the pockets, dust and change in the chairs and couches, I once even found $3 in a pair of jeans. I guess I just have to warn everybody to try on the clothes at ANY Goodwill at your own risk (if not at all!) And first thing you should do is wash that item ASAP because you never know WHO that awesome new piece use to own to or what their hygiene habits were if they even practiced hygiene. I love this Goodwill, I've gone to this Goodwill 4 times a week at least for years. As it is in the center of Scottsdale, this Goodwill tends to accumulate high end clothing and shoes, and everything used to be accurately priced. For the past year or so this Goodwill has started to overprice all designer and name brand items. This isn't even a Goodwill anymore, it is priced like a HIGH end consignment shop or vintage reseller place. It's starting to get ridiculous, you come to Goodwill to get these brands used at lower costs. They are being way overpriced and it's getting harder and harder to shop here. ALL other Goodwills close to here, in south scottsdale/tempe and north scottsdale don't do this. Please start pricing your clothes and shoes accurately again! Even half off Saturday doesn't curve the insanely high prices given to these donated used items.... read more

I asked 3 times for help and the lady went over the intercoms and still nobody came to help so I carried up the heavy tables myself and then I couldn't fit everything in my vehicle so they said they would hold the products. I then came back the next day for the side tables and they just happened to disappear. What a waste of my time, energy, and gas. Thanks for the store credit, I won't be back. read more

This was my first time dropping donations at this location, I found there was a line of cars in front of me, people were leaving stuff on a pile of donations already placed at the entrance of the reception area (on the back of the store), however no one was around, I assumed that was the reason, they were just not available so I proceeded to do the same as the others, anyway it was not really much or heavy stuff and I didn't need a receipt for my donation. Suddenly a young guy comes out and tells me to "wait" well he actually screamed but he never came to my car, and he went back inside while turning on my car to open my window he comes out and again scream, he didn't give me chance to explain I just leave a chair and I didn't need help to unload from my car anymore and I didn't need a receipt. Anyway I felt like an offender, yeah I could just ignore him and leave, ughh after that another guy helped someone else with a dresser they bought so I approached to him to ask/explain. This other Goodwill employee explained they don't like to have a large pile outside, BUT if they are busy inside doing I don't know what...they don't give us another option. Anyway I learned the lesson from now I will stop by the Goodwill close to Thunderbird where everyone is more organized and friendly! read more

This location sells some cosmetics, scored some Donna Karan Delicious 3.4 oz perfume for $5 almost full! Some people get very weird about this place and camp out all day to literally snatch goods off of the stock cart when the employee wheels out new stuff. Not a good look people. I has some time to kill before a concert so I stopped in to this Goodwill location thinking I was going to find some really good deals. The place seemed huge, clean and well organized, but after sorting through rack after rack - I found nothing worthy of packing and taking home! The staff really were not intrusive at all - in fact I didn't even see anyone working other than the cashiers - this isn't a bad thing - just means that they blended in and just let you shop away. My only compliant was that they had racks of quality merchandise and the prices on those racks sometimes were higher then the items when marked on clearance at their normal retail locations. Sometimes I think folks who work at thrift stores know good stuff and than because of that little bit of knowledge - they end up over-pricing stuff. Just because it says American Eagle or Hollister - it doesn't mean it's marked quite that high at their retails stores. Same with J Crew - BR - Lucky. They had a pair of very used Lucky Brand Jeans for $49.00 - seriously at Goodwill? This is the reason for the 3 stars - they would have been better off leaving these quality clothing with the other quality clothing on the racks and used the space for something else. read more

TIP: Half price day every other Saturday The store at 32nd street and Greenway was my go-to place for secondhand goods. Being the closest store to Paradise Valley, I've found Prada shoes, Escada suits and tons of other brand name items over the years. Quality has gone down over the past year or two. More Goodwills have opened up, and even the rich have less. But you can still find a good deal or two if you get lucky. I like to stop by on random weekdays after work. This goodwill is very expensive for very used/well worn items. I saw many well worn dresses, brands that you can find at Target or Ross going for 10.00 and above. I can find the brand new, not smelly clothes at those stores for less. To top it off they asked me if I wanted to round up the sale price as an added donation to Goodwill! I'm all for helping out the community but when they are already ridiculously over charging for items they get for free that is unfair. read more
