I booked an appointment with them for my Mercedes when a fellow Elite referred me. I'm so glad she did. From the beginning of my first interaction to the time I drove off their lot, everything about them was perfect and courteous. Luis and Sam provided with me the right advice. I got my A service done, replaced my wipers. They adjusted my headlights and filled air for no extra charge. The waiting room and the bathrooms were both clean. I was able to get my work done while waiting. It was comfortable. There were Fiji (yes) water bottles in the mini fridge. And coffee. It seemed like a very friendly atmosphere. The staff were happy telling their stories to each other. And when I made a small talk, they were quick to respond while keeping their focus on work at hand. The service was finished relatively quick, but they didn't rush. They stayed with me until all my questions got answered. The bill was less than what I was expecting. This happened this summer but I just found Mitch Carr's card to write this. We drove to Bethesda to see out Daughter. On the way out had a minor accident that wasn't my fault but it did something to my lights. We looked for a service garage near our Daughter's home. We ended up at Mitch Carr's. The owner or manager (not sure, maybe Mitch?) went up and down the block (several car repair places there) asking if anyone had the right bulb. He fixed it and also lifted a panel that got messed up from the accident. He didn't want to charge us. We insisted and gave him something. He was so gracious and nice We really appreciate it. Mercedes Benz 300 CD Turbo Diesel that I have pampered with the very best available care and service at all times during its 40 year life. I had previously enjoyed excellent service from Euromotor Cars. I have been taking a 25 year old E320 wagon here for several years. They are very professional and the car stays fixed. They are inexpensive, but they do use Mercedes parts and you want that. I paid more to fix my previous car - Toyota Camry (20+ years old). The greatest part of their service is that they explain things well. They will help you develop a plan as to what needs to be fixed first and what can wait. Very nice group and very professional. read more

I did NOT have a good experience with this company at all. I took my daughters CLA 250 there because it was running rough and the coolant light was on. After they charged me $240.00 to run test they came back with the car has a blown head gasket and it needs a new engine (at51k miles) Of course my daughter & I were very upset after just buying the car 6 months ago. I was told not to drive the car at all, it will blow a rod and has bad cylinders. I had it towed home & then after really finding it hard to believe that a new engine was needed. We decided to get a 2nd opinion. I had it towed to MAGIC BENZ SERVICE in Hyattsville md. William the owner looked at it and told me not to worry it can be repaired. I picked up the car in 2 days & it only needed plugs & coils. The car runs like a brand new car. On top of that they cleaned the car inside and out. read more

Mitch Carr's Mercedes Repair came highly recommended for Mercedes Repair. I had to drive 135 miles each way 2 times (Total 540miles) once for diagnostic then they had to order parts and back a week later to install parts and correct the issue. I have owned approx. 45 new Mercedes Cars in my life time. Bottom line I have never met a Mercedes mechanic as a young man there named Bob. He fixed an issue with Vario Roof not working on a 2005 SL500 which I had at a Dealer with no success. Bob really surprised me with his knowledge on Mercedes. I first contacted Mitch Carr's Auto Service when the locks and trunk would not open with the electronic key on my 2007 SL550 Mercedes. I told Eric that I was worried that my car would get stolen, since I park in an open apartment complex and could not lock the car. Eric told me that they had a full schedule that day, but that he would do his best to diagnose the issue. He also shared that, unlike the Mercedes dealership, which charged $170, he didn't charge diagnosis fees unless the issue took took more than 45 minutes to 1 hour to diagnose. He fixed the lock issue at no cost to me because all that was needed was for one of the fuses to be replaced. He was also able to order and install a new third brake lamp for me for less than the dealer quoted me, with Mercedes approved parts. Since I had a good initial experience with Eric, when shopping for a new car, I took two different cars to Mitch Carr's Auto service for pre-purchase inspections, which were also completed at no cost to me. Eric and Sam reported to me that one of the cars seemed suspicious to them, while the other one had major issues, since it had been in an unreported major accident. Due to these issues, Eric told me that it was likely only worth 8K, even though the dealership I went to wanted 29K for the car. I followed Eric's recommendation not to buy the car, so he saved me 29K dollars! After he provided his feedback, I asked Eric what he thought I should do, since I still needed to purchase a new car, and wanted a Mercedes. He said that I had to take every car for a pre-purchase inspection. I said, "okay, that makes sense, but how many cars are you willing to inspect for me?" Eric's response was, "As many as you need." The professionals there care about their customers and are extremely knowledgeable about Mercedes vehicles. My car is an older Mercedes' with low miles and I have in the past taken into a dealer. However, they were over priced and unwilling to stand by there Work. My interactions with Mitch's were reasonable and they provided a complete assessment of the car and identified several issues that will eventually require repair but clearly identified the issues the were more urgent and others that could wait. Their quotes we're very competitive and reasonable, and unlike the dealership there were no efforts to price gouge. There are clearly knowledgeable, reasonably priced and most importantly honest! Great experience with Mitch Carr - AT NO COST. I was purchasing a Mercedes GL 350 from across the country and needed someone to look at the vehicle. Sean, Lou and their team scheduled me in on the same day. The dealer took it over, they test drove it, hooked it up to monitors and did a thorough inspection. They surfaced a couple minor issues, made me aware of common issues with this type of car and overall were extremely helpful. Sean and Lou likely spent 15 minutes on the line and the technician probably spent 45 minutes on it. This gave me the comfort to move forward with the transaction. I am not a knowledgeable German car owner. Mitch's crew were referred to me by an employee. Since I started going to Mitch Carr's Auto Service, I have not been back to Euro Motors. I don't even know where to begin.. I've been coming to Mitch for over 12 years now, shortly after I got my first MB, via a recommendation from a guy I met at random. I've been satisfied with their honesty, fairness and courtesy and have continued to support them. While most may not admit it, the auto industry isn't always fair to women and their concerns, but Mitch and his guys are!! I'd go further to say that Mitch is worth the drive, even if you don't reside in the Rockville/Bethesda area. I would give Mitch Carr's Auto Service 10 stars, if it were possible! I was running up against a deadline to get my car inspected and, as luck would have it, one of my rear tail lights burned out the day before inspection. Ugh. So, I took my Mercedes CLK 350 to Mitch Carr's at 5:30 pm on Friday evening to see if they could install a new light bulb. Not only did they fix the light bulb, but they replaced all of the rear light bulbs (as others were about to burn out) for $15! Unbelievable. Furthermore, while I was there, I asked Bob the mechanic to check the seat restraint system (SRS), which triggered an "air bag problem" message on my dashboard, and probably would have caused an inspection failure the following day. Though the shop was getting ready to close for the weekend, he went out of his way to check the SRS system (with computers) and determined that the air bag problem was an electrical issue and not an air bag replacement issue. Said he had only replaced one air bag during his 15 years as a Mercedes mechanic. As such, he cleared the error message on my dashboard and saved me nearly $1,000, the cost of an airbag replacement. I was absolutely thrilled by the news, and impressed by Bob's honesty and professionalism. Highly recommend this repair shop! read more

Unbelievable to find in today's day and age. Mitch and his entire staff are first rate professionals with INTEGRITY and HONESTY. I have a 2012 GL450 that I took to my dealer, Mercedes Benz of Chantilly, for my pre-paid 30K service. I was called and told my service was nearly completed BUT my rear left brake pad was nearly metal to metal and my other pads were at 4mm. Their recommendation was that I replace all 4 rotors and brake pads, a $1380.00 job. I found it odd that the wear on the one pad was so inconsistent with the other three. So I contacted Mitch based on my Mom's recommendation as she has had her 1999 E320 serviced by Mitch for years. Mitch assessed the situation and told me that there was a defective left rear caliper that caused the excessive wear and that I should take the car back to the Mercedes dealer to have them replace the defective caliper and both sets of brake pads under the warranty. Mitch provided me all the exact equipment specification and readings as well as the correct terminology to use with the dealer's service manager and did NOT charge me a thing. I was now an informed customer that could speak intelligently to the dealer and as a result, the dealer backtracked and replaced both rear calipers and brake pads for free. On the invoice, is stated $2,900 job under warranty. If the dealer had been honest, this should have been the solution from the beginning rather than try and charge me $1,380.00 for new parts and not fix the defective caliper which would have caused premature wear and tear on the new pads. Mitch not only saved me from wasting my money, he provided me professional direction on how to rectify the problem with a dishonest dealer service shop. Mitch has earned all my future business and trust even if I have to drive from Virginia to Maryland for the service. Thank you Mitch and team. read more

I've been to a number of recommended independent Mercedes repair shops and none of them can touch Mitch Carr's shop. Specifically, they have good communication, work is done when promised, and they truly care about their customers. Most importantly, they fix the problem and do "clean" work. Meaning no missing bolts, nuts, or sloppy work. They know cars and their diagnosis is top notch. No throwing parts at a car to see if it will fix the problem. I have owned two older Mercedes (420 SEL 1991), and they have taken great care of both. They will try to fix your car for the most reasonable price, which includes offering to use used parts if you want. They have allowed me to bring in brake pads, since I like a certain type and know where to order them. To date, they have not gone over the estimated price. I'm guessing they've been doing this long enough that they know the price. I haven't been "taken" on price to date, unheard of in the auto repair industry. The shop prices are very reasonable and Mitch is a real person. Hal is a great service manager, very polite and knowledgeable. I live in Alexandria, VA near Old Town and travel to Kensington to have my cars worked on by Mitch Carr-that should say something. There is a shop in Arlington, rhymes with "tool" , that I won't use because they aren't nearly as 'clean' in their work. For example, my wing-nut on my air filter cover mysteriously disappeared. When I pointed it out, they said, "you don't really need it to hold it down". While technically true, would it have been that much of a problem to replace a .50 cent wing nut? I went to the local hardware store and did it myself. I hate that kind of laziness and lack of attention to detail. Mitch Carr is not like that other shop and has proven themselves time and again to be a great shop. Finally, they will pick you up and drop you off at the metro, which is nice if you want to go that route and not worry about finding a ride to and from the shop. read more

There are no frills like donuts in the waiting area or fancy gift shops but everything you need is there. They fix your car, they're very courteous and the price is right. She opted against the repairs and I took the car to Mitch's to learn none of the extra items needed to be repaired and just 1 of them is now on the "watch list". Have been visiting this shop for more years than i can count. Drove all the way from VA to get work done on my 99' E320. I have never ever experienced a shop this nice. I love the atmosphere. (To me at least) it's the relaxed neighborhood benz mechanic :) When our family decided to buy another benz, a thought came to mind "what about repairs?" What's the first thought that popped into mind? HAL and MITCH! Done deal, we bought the car, and when the time comes for a service and/or repair. I'll be making that trip across the 495 bridge, through traffic (does it ever stop?) and down the neighborhood streets, around the windy turn, up the hill and through the garage doors. To meet the man that KNOWS what he's doing. Might I also add that the mechanics themselves are great to deal with. I remember vaguely of a problem I encountered before I left, (my own fault) the mechanic stepped out, explained to me the solution (in a nice manner) and i was on my way. Mitch's charges much less than the Mercedes dealer in Bethesda does. They are extremely professional and courteous to their clients. They have a lot of repeat business clientele who adore them. It is rumored that a lot of people left Bethesda International Auto Motors and began to bring their European luxury cars to this establishment because they were that much more affordable.
