My car stopped running over the weekend. Initially, I believed it was my starter after the tow truck driver wasn't able to jump it. I found DPS through Yelp and contacted them through here. They were respectful and responsive and provided me with an appointment and estimate. I had my car towed to them yesterday. They refused to service me to open my fuel tank door. They gave me a quote for over $300 to fix the fuel tank door release cable but wouldn't do any work around that to help that would be cheaper and help me temporary or negotiate with me on the phone. Horrible service. read more

Needed brake work and an oil change. I used the contractor work search app on yelp and DPS was the first to respond with a question and then an immediate written estimate. I called and spoke with Chuck Nguyen. Chuck and the entire staff are very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is like a mom and pop shop (compliment) but they are very professional, efficient and reasonable. My vehicle was ready in little time. They are pretty much a one stop shop (got an estimate for body work) and have a recidivist customer base. I am so happy to have found my new auto maintenance and repair shop. And Chuck is awesome. I used yelp to find a repair shop that would get me a quote for a broken passenger side mirror. DPS was very responsive with fair prices and quick turnaround. After an initial online estimate, they asked me to come visit them to get the matching paint code and verify the parts they would order would match my car. I came in and they were able to order it. The next day they called back and told me the parts arrived and were able to quickly add me to their schedule to have it installed. The repair didn't take very long and they had a small waiting room, roughly 1.5 hours. Service was excellent and prices were competitive. I would definitely recommend them. read more

was a customer of this service a couple of weeks ago. bmw 525i 2002. I needed to put other wheels and make the wheel alignment. I explained to the manager that it is necessary to put wheels with spacers because the hub and wheels have a different central hole. When the car was driven inside, the master took a large screwdriver and began to pick out the hub caps with a screwdriver. I had to go inside and show them how to remove them correctly, that they just need to be turned and removed. When the master removed all the old wheels, he began installing new ones. he began to put them without spacers and he did not succeed. I had to call the manager to explain to him how to put the wheels. After installing the wheels, he made the collapse of the convergence of the wheels. Bottom line: when I'm driving on the road, I have to keep the steering wheel a little to the right to keep the car going straight. When I came to another service for wheel balancing, they showed me that the rear wheels are not in the right position, they have a direction that is directed in the other direction. read more

I just moved here from California and needed a Maryland inspection for my moto. I went to a nearby Harley place which tried to rip me off with some ridiculous b.s. That next day they were supposed to give me a quote on what they wanted to rip me off for to make it pass, but I guess the thought of a Triumph soiling their premises was too much so they told me to &(*& off. Without even a recommendation. I looked and found another place on Yelp (I didn't the first time, stupid me), and they were awesome, CycleMax. They knew that other place's suggestions were complete bogus. We all agreed my brakes needed new pads, so, of course they did them for me at a very, very reasonable price. They even fixed my center-stand which was precariously hanging; something the other place didn't seem to note! Sheesh. Anyhoo, Cyclemax then called DPS and snuck me in late in the day. Pirouz is a total crack-up and got me out of there in no time flat. They really stood up to the plate. I'm gonna bring in my truck for a clutch job it needs badly, and I totally recommend them. Of course, it's not a high-fallutin' showroom with a pot of coffee, waiting room with tea and coffee and a TV to over-charge you for. I traveled 2 & 1/2 hours to potentially purchase a used BMW but was concerned about the mechanical condition of the car. I found DPS on Yelp and after reading reviews, gave them a call. They were extremely friendly, and accommodating of our tight schedule. They explained the pre-purchase inspection process on the phone, making sure it was what I wanted. We had to postpone the appointment twice (once due to a late departure and a second time due to traffic). They were very gracious both times. Last summer, I bought a used car in fantastic shape and needed to get it through Maryland State Inspection. At first, I took it to another shop which lied to me about "necessary" repairs, causing me to walk out. (Note to inspectors: Don't lie to petite females. They might be automotive students in disguise.) I decided to try my luck and ask some friends where to go for an honest evaluation of my car. I was told to check out DPS, so I gave Pirouz my keys and went to chill in the waiting area with all the car magazines. Just bought a low mile 1998 Civic for a commute car and in overall great condition except for a transmission leak. Took it in to DPS Automotive and they fixed it right up. They told me best case scenario (low cost), it's just the seal wearing off. Worst case scenario it would be a much more costly job - don't remember the specifics of what the job would've been in the worst case scenario, I'm not a mechanic. After diagnosing the cause of the transmission fluid leak they told me it was just the seal - great news! These guys are extremely knowledgeable, professional, personable, and have INTEGRITY. They could've gone with the worst case scenario, as many dishonest mechanics are oft to do, and made me spend possible $1k+ on a $1800 beater. But these guys were honest and I drove home with a like-new 1998 Civic. I would take any of my cars to these guys again. read more

I called DPS after my mechanic quoted me what seemed to be an exuberant price for transmission repairs. DPS quoted me a significantly cheaper price and wrote it down for me to take home. I moved my car from my old mechanic to DPS and waited a week without DPS contacting me to give me an update. I called twice and they told me to call back the following week. I called back the following week and they told me that they would not fix my transmission. They said that even though they are transmission specialists, they would not fix mine. They did not provide a reason and charged me anyway for 'their' time. They also denied ever giving me a quote and demanded I show them the paper with the quote. The people who referred me to DPS told me that they knew DPS' service to be unreliable but that this was the last straw. They are now no longer going to use DPS, as nor will I. read more

My Subaru STI unfortunately suffered the infamous ringland. Priouz was very helpful in explaining what needed to get done in rebuilding my engine.
