This place was so cute! I've never been to a bed & breakfast. I did not stay the night. They let guests come for breakfast/lunch. It looks just like a house turned small restaurant. I missed breakfast which I was sad about, so be aware they serve breakfast & lunch just not both all day until they close. I ordered a turkey half sandwich and salad with lemons to drink. I loved the sprinkled powdered sugar on the plate & everything tasted very fresh. Also, my lemonade was delicious. Most things seem to be made in house, but there were a few things that I was unsure of like the dessert menu & my raspberry vinaigrette. I will definitely be back for breakfast to gather a more overall idea of the food. It was a little pricey at $15, but if everything is made in house that would explain the pricing. The service was great, but the space was small due to two large parties going on. Probably best to call if you're going to breakfast on the weekend. read more

Best Breakfast in Yakima Good food exquisitely prepared. This place was quite a find thanks to fellow yelpers. It's a bed and breakfast but has a public dining room as well. They serve breakfast until 10:30 and then move to lunch. I had a perfectly prepared tomato and onion omelette. Everything was fresh and extremely well presented. This quaint, picturesque breakfast place was perfect, before heading home. We met with my friends brother and kid for breakfast and even though the options were limited, the quality made up for it.. My friends brother and I both ordered the Three Egg Ham and Cheese Omelet, while my friend chose the White House Scramble, even though both the guys complained that the only option was "minced ham" and more "minced ham" and no bacon, sausage or potatoes, they quickly shut-up once the food arrived. The presentation was beautiful, the fresh fruit delectable and in between savoring mouthfuls of our "minced ham" happiness, the coffee was slurped down and gumdrops eaten. This White House is a rare gem in Yakima and If I lived here, this place would be in my rotation of weekend breakfast places to visit. read more

White House Cafe is a beautiful place to have lunch, both inside and out. I sat on the patio and had half of a turkey sandwich and a salad. The salad was huge and I was pleasantly surprised to find it sprinkled with blueberries and the largest strawberry I have ever seen. The sandwich would have been just another turkey sandwich if not for the bread. The bread really made it because it was so soft and fresh - like the turkey and cranberries were wrapped in a delicious pillow. The patio was shaded so I didn't have to worry about getting too much sun. And it was serene. So much, that I was able to forget for a bit that it was a weekday and I had to go back to work. If I lived in Yakima, this would be one of my regular lunch/brunch spots. read more

First let me start off by saying this place is so cute, and the service is so thoughtful. We sat under the pergola and enjoyed a nice breeze that brought with it the sweet scent of the flowers around the property. The entire place was so charming and had really good vibes. The food was fairly good, but the variety was lacking. The first three breakfast items on the menu were basically all the same thing, just prepared differently; Ham, eggs, and cheddar cheese, to sum it up. They offered a daily special which was a shrimp Benedict and that is what I chose. The hollandaise was nice, but they made it with scrambled eggs instead of poached eggs, as a Benedict should have had. Had it come with poached eggs it would have been off the charts good, but because of the scrambled eggs I considered it to be so-so. There wasn't enough hollandaise to make up for the lack of gooey poached egg. The portions are really quite generous and we all left absolutely stuffed. Overall because of the service and the atmosphere, this place won three stars from me. I won't write it off entirely and may give it another shot during lunch hours. read more

I've been to the White House Cafe twice. I was there for a meeting this morning and was reminded why this place is a hidden gem. It's a converted farmhouse, with antiques and a gas fireplace. There is no espresso machine just coffee and tea. The menu is small but everything is made in house and is fresh. I love the intimacy of the White House Cafe. You can imagine what Yakima was like a hundred years ago. Sitting by the fire with a pot of tea and a homemade muffin reveals a much slower pace and greater contemplation than the disposable cup places provide. I would love to spend the afternoon on the porch with a book, lemonade and a sandwich. This is a really nice place. It's out of the way and of the beaten path. The white House Cafe has good service and the food is satisfying. The pace is perfect and they are vegan friendly and have gluten free options. read more

We especially enjoy coming here in the summer for we enjoy the outdoor seating though inside with all the windows you will love the sunny ambiance. This quaint restaurant is part of a bed and breakfast offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Décor was cottagey 1920's. Beautiful hydrangeas at the entrance, cute little porch leading up to the front door. There are 4 dining areas and we were seated at the back next to the kitchen, looking out to the backyard. This might get a little warm in summer even though they had a portable floor fan. Chicken salad: chunks of chicken in mayonnaise on a bed of lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. It's a beautiful presentation garnished with a fresh raspberry, a few Bing cherries and blackberries, slivered almonds, orange wedges and a sprinkling of powdered sugar. Served with a dinner roll and heart shaped butter and cranberry jam. Very disappointing flavor given I was expecting chicken from their signature oven-roasted chicken with a special blend of seasonings. Bland and dry. There was no dressing for the lettuce. Cucumber water which was welcome in the heat. Roast beef sandwich - with Havarti cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato. Asked for the horseradish on the side. What we received was a delicious creamy dressing - maybe mix of mayonnaise, mustard and horseradish. Whatever that was, it was great smothered on the sandwich. Sprinkling of powdered sugar as part of presentation. I'd order this again!! Everything was very fresh, although I agree with another reviewer who expressed dismay at powdered sugar over their omelet. I didn't really taste this on the sandwich, but I did have horseradish which may have masked any sweetness. I would suggest you request the powdered sugar be omitted if this seems strange over a savory dish. Service was good, although we had a short wait while she closed out a transaction when we arrived.
