I honestly didn't even pay attention to what the inside of this place looks like. We just sat down, visited with each other, and ordered our food. I ordered the Denver omelet, hash browns, and wheat toast. It was excellent! I love breakfast food, and this omelet was one of the best I've had. My gf had the club sandwich, which was HUGE, and her mom had a piece of French toast-also HUGE. We were a party of 3 here for breakfast on a Saturday, it was packed! Full house and waiting area. Looked like there were crayons and coloring projects available to keep the littles occupied but this place is clearly popular with the older crowd. We probably waited less than 15 minutes before being seated in a booth. The dining area has a booths around the perimeter by the windows and long tables all pushed together in the middle; so dining could be close to others not in your party. Server was prompt and super friendly, everything seemed clean and well stocked with condiments in corals at every table. We ordered two different eggs benedict (chorizo and steak bites), both sets of eggs were overcooked and not runny as is customary for benedicts but the meat was cooked to perfection. My family loves dining at Old Town Station! Normally we come for breakfast but also for the occasional lunch or dinner. The country hash browns are my favorite. HUGE PORTIONS, great breakfasts! Got the pancake breakfast to go on our way to Seattle and they put it in a 9x13 foil pan because it was so large! The chorizo burrito was also gigantic, enough to feed at least 2-3 adults. They also included all the sauces, salsa, sour cream, tapatio, and utensils so we were able to keep moving while eating. We went for breakfast on a Wednesday so it wasn't too busy. The service was excellent, both fast and servers were very nice. The food: I had a Belgian waffle..excellent.. served hot and the butter was soft so it was easy to spread .. side container of syrup was heated .. nice Hubby had 2 eggs over medium and hash browns.. there was literally a puddle of oil/ melted grease(?) on top of the eggs spilling onto the plate.... Hubby asked for additional napkins so he could soak the oil off. The eggs weren't quite cooked medium as the whites were not fully cooked. The hash browns could best be described as "mashed browns" ..just mushy. Too much oil resulted in an upset tummy soon after heading home. Went for Union Gap Burger Week and shared the Super Pumper with my husband. It was absolutely delicious, and the caramelized shallots did not disappoint. I went in and ordered a prime rib dip specifying THREE times NO cheese. The restaurant was not busy. I waited 20 minutes for the sandwich. I deliver the sandwich to my mother in Yakima to find an inch thick of American cheese on top of chewy beef. I called and told the manager; he offered no apology. His exact words, "if you want to bring it back I will give you a refund." Why did I go there in the first place? To waste time, gas and $15 on a nasty sandwich? My father-in-law came to lunch at this little cafe for decades because it was so close to his work office. Having moving away from Yakima 25+ years ago, I came here with my now adult children. A very good old-fashioned restaurant, albeit a very crowded one for Sunday breakfast. The wait wasn't long, though. Our waitress was both friendly, efficient, and menu knowledgeable. What was amazing for how busy it was, we didn't have to wait long for our orders to arrive at our table. First, all breakfasts came with hash browns. I had the Meatlover's Omelet, filled to bursting with chopped bacon, ham, and sausage with cheese. I added green peppers. I've had omelets in other diners that lacked flavor. This one was more than full of flavor. The hashed browns were in a long roll, crispy on the outside and white and tender on the inside. The English muffin had been placed face down on the flat top so that that melted butter filled the nooks and crannies of that crispy goodness while the outside of the muffin was nicely soft. The one thing I'll ding them for is the lack of cream or half & half for coffee. They provide only non-dairy creamers--and I've yet to taste any of those which comes within tasting distance of real cream. My lovely wife had the Eggs Benedict, which she said was very good. The Hollandaise sauce over the two poached eggs was good. But instead of traditional Canadian bacon they used thinly-sliced ham, which my wife found delicious. Her English muffins were toasted on the flat top like mine had been. Our daughter had the Country Benedict, which used a delicious biscuit as its base. Hers came with country gravy over two poached eggs, and two sausage patties. Her fiance chose the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs, which was smothered in that same country gravy and and I can't remember what bread product he chose. Old Town Station is a family-owned place that's been a staple in Union Gap since 1979. I can see why. They offer good, solid flavorful food, better than the franchise restaurant chains. We plan to return to peruse the lunch and dinner menus. They frequently offer homemade brisket as a dinner special. I'm there! read more

Probably been here about 6 times or more for lunch. I usually get the fish and tater tots with extra tarter, it's great. The lunch size hand cut cod is plenty of food. The cod has a nice batter. Crispy. Wife got Patty melt on rye. She loved it. I tried a bite...it was good with a nice meat patty in there. The service has always been good, and the place is clean. We were in town getting some work done on our camper and the dealer recommended this local place for good breakfast food. They were right - this local place did serve up some really good breakfast food. But the atmosphere was lacking.... very open cafeteria like..... I felt like we were dining with other people the seats were so close. The service was a little slow and lacking - I didn't feel like I was welcomed into a local dining place where you instantly feel like home. I felt like the servers were irritated to have a customer. I've eaten at better places along the road, but gave this a shot and was pleased with the results. The veggie soup was quite good. The special was a stuff green pepper and it was tasty (didn't like the cheese topping, but that wasn't an issue).
