Nice restaurant with great ambiance. There's plenty of seating (inside/outside), a bar with TV's for sports and a bunch of nice mountain decor all around. Service was great as we spoke with the hostess and our server was very tentative. They have 3 restrooms (Male/Female/Handicap) in the back. I ordered the steak sandwich w/ fries and dipping sauce which was not bad, the steak was just a lil too well done for my taste as I like medium rare). First off both of the steak sandwiches had barely any steak or cheese the steak didn't even go all the way to the back of the roll, the steak and potatoes were shit, she said they tasted like boxed potatoes, grossss. So on top of mediocre food, the chef who was so concerned about the integrity of his food that he couldn't add something like avocado to a sandwich didn't salt shit, everyone had to double down on salt because it was so bland. We went during non rush hour so we got a table immediately. The server was a bit busy even so and running around. We received a little bit of late service, but that's ok since it was still busy. We ordered tapas style to share and were surprised the "pub" fare isn't really pub styled at all. Very on brand for aspen in terms of the pricing and style of food. What disappointed was the taste. There was nothing special about any of the appetizers and half the mussels were missing their meat. Even if it fell out into the large pot you'd think they'd put extras on the plate. After we arrived at ASE, we headed immediately to town for lunch. Aspen Public House looked cute and reasonable. Even though it was the off-season, this place was hopping. We had a 30-minute wait, but they seated us a lot faster than that. Given the idyllic weather, we sat outside with a lovely view of Ajax. When a friendly guy at the table next to us noticed my sister was wearing an Olympic Club vest, they started talking, and we discovered we had so many people in common. It really felt like a small town. I forgot to take photos of the menu because I'm on vacation, but I did whip out my camera, much to my brother's chagrin, when the food arrived. My sister-in-law raved about her Burratta with grilled Colorado peaches, heirloom tomatoes, basil, truffle honey, and grilled sourdough ($15). I should have ordered the tasty Fried Chicken Sandwich (fried chicken breast, gruyere, bacon, tomato, caramelized onions, chipotle aioli, avocado spread, ciabatta and fries). It was awesome, and so were the fries. Instead, I had the Pan-Roasted Salmon with sautéed vegetables and caper puttanesca sauce ($25.75), which was good. We all had beers (It is a pub after all!), but I can't remember which ones. Mine was light and refreshing. Service was pleasant, and we lingered over conversations with various diners and people passing by. After hiking to crater lake in Maroon bells we stopped in the town of aspen for a late lunch/early dinner. We chose this place because the food looked good and it wasn't as fancy as some other places since we were still in our hiking clothes. We asked to be sat outside because we had our dog with us and we had to wait for availability but it was quick. They took my phone number down and texted when our table was ready. I ordered a drink to share, it was delightful. Not too sweet but definitely strong. I cannot remember the name of it and can't locate a drink menu but it had the word aspen in it. We also shared the chicken tempura, we didn't know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Fried chicken wings with no bones and the ranch is home made, very good. We both ended up ordering the steak sandwich with truffle fries. The meat was perfectly cooked and tender. Easy to eat and the bread was crisp but soft. The truffle on the fries was a bit overwhelming but easily removed. We devoured our food quickly and left bellys full and happy. Our waiter was very nice, he got our orders in quickly and the food came out so fast! He answered any questions we had and gave a great recommendation on the drink. Completely unacceptable to not have a baby changing table in a restaurant in 2025. What do you expect people to do, honestly? Let a baby sit in poo for an hour and get diaper rash? We had a wonderful experience here. After walking over from the Limelight Hotel, we were immediately drawn in by the inviting ambiance and happily put our name on the waitlist. Once seated, Kate took great care of us and did an incredible job managing multiple tables with ease. We ordered crisp beers on tap and finished off with an espresso martini. They also can make Carajillo's (if you know, you know) which I would 100% recommend. The truffled potato dish was filling but we had to ask for another sauce to balance the amount of potatoes. The steak was brought out on a tray and the server slightly spilled some liquid onto one of our friends jacket, not a big deal but I don't think they realized it was happening.
