We all know Aspen is pretty expensive when it comes to food. This place is reasonably priced. We ordered a chicken sandwich which was good but the quinoa salad which says spicy was below par. The place is cozy and the waitress was really nice

My husband and I came here for a cold beer. We sat at the bar and had a very attentive and friendly bartender. The place is very cozy and inviting. I would love to come back here and have some food next time! It is definitely a great spot for a drink at the bar!

Poor excuse for a steak sandwich

So first off this place was so fucking loud 3 out of the 4 people in our party had to put headphones in just to try to drown out the noise it was so overly and obnoxiously loud we couldn't even have a conversation between the 4 of us, first major red flag. That was the first issue the second issue was when we were all ordering I had ordered the steak sandwich and I had asked the waitress to add avocado to my sandwich not an unusual request I feel like adding something like avocado to a sandwich is pretty common but the waitress starts shaking her head as to say no. She said she is going to have to ask the chef because "He is very particular with his food", so I asked to just put in on the side because clearly it was too much work to put it on the sandwich. We had ordered the rice ball appetizer no salt tasted bland, two of us ordered the steak sandwich, one the burger and one the steak and potatoes. First off both of the steak sandwiches had barely any steak or cheese the steak didn't even go all the way to the back of the roll, the steak and potatoes were shit, she said they tasted like boxed potatoes, grossss. So on top of mediocre food, the chef who was so concerned about the integrity of his food that he couldn't add something like avocado to a sandwich didn't salt shit, everyone had to double down on salt because it was so bland. And the wait staff was also trash, our waitress never checked on us once after our food came and then we literally had to track her down to pay, honestly we should have just walked out. F this place.

Such a cool spot and excellent food/beverage menu. We popped in for lunch. I had the Doug's Chef Salad + salmon. It was delicious. My hubs had the steak French dip. And they had his bourdon, Bookers to boot. We will stop by again before leaving! Our waitress and staff were super friendly and accommodating too!

Extremely spot on. Amazing beer and wine selection. The food is great and reasonably priced. The buratta and arancini were excellent. The La Chouffeur IPA was stellar. The potato and leak soup was really good, it needed a little salt and pepper. Apple struddle was as good as my grandma's. Service was great. The restroom was extremely clean, and from a person who used to build bathrooms, this one is quality. We will be back.

We went during non rush hour so we got a table immediately. The server was a bit busy even so and running around. We received a little bit of late service, but that's ok since it was still busy. We ordered tapas style to share and were surprised the "pub" fare isn't really pub styled at all. Very on brand for aspen in terms of the pricing and style of food. What disappointed was the taste. There was nothing special about any of the appetizers and half the mussels were missing their meat. Even if it fell out into the large pot you'd think they'd put extras on the plate. That was a bit disappointing as I've never had half my mussels missing their meat. Overall, cool spot for some more affordable eats in Aspen with not a whole lot extra to expect.

After we arrived at ASE, we headed immediately to town for lunch. Aspen Public House looked cute and reasonable. Even though it was the off-season, this place was hopping. We had a 30-minute wait, but they seated us a lot faster than that. Given the idyllic weather, we sat outside with a lovely view of Ajax. When a friendly guy at the table next to us noticed my sister was wearing an Olympic Club vest, they started talking, and we discovered we had so many people in common. It really felt like a small town. I forgot to take photos of the menu because I'm on vacation, but I did whip out my camera, much to my brother's chagrin, when the food arrived. My sister-in-law raved about her Burratta with grilled Colorado peaches, heirloom tomatoes, basil, truffle honey, and grilled sourdough ($15). I should have ordered the tasty Fried Chicken Sandwich (fried chicken breast, gruyere, bacon, tomato, caramelized onions, chipotle aioli, avocado spread, ciabatta and fries). It was awesome, and so were the fries. Instead, I had the Pan-Roasted Salmon with sautéed vegetables and caper puttanesca sauce ($25.75), which was good. We all had beers (It is a pub after all!), but I can't remember which ones. Mine was light and refreshing. Service was pleasant, and we lingered over conversations with various diners and people passing by. If you're looking for a fun, casual spot with affordable prices, Aspen Public House is it.

After hiking to crater lake in Maroon bells we stopped in the town of aspen for a late lunch/early dinner. We chose this place because the food looked good and it wasn't as fancy as some other places since we were still in our hiking clothes. We asked to be sat outside because we had our dog with us and we had to wait for availability but it was quick. They took my phone number down and texted when our table was ready. I ordered a drink to share, it was delightful. Not too sweet but definitely strong. I cannot remember the name of it and can't locate a drink menu but it had the word aspen in it. We also shared the chicken tempura, we didn't know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Fried chicken wings with no bones and the ranch is home made, very good. We both ended up ordering the steak sandwich with truffle fries. The meat was perfectly cooked and tender. Easy to eat and the bread was crisp but soft. The truffle on the fries was a bit overwhelming but easily removed. We devoured our food quickly and left bellys full and happy. Our waiter was very nice, he got our orders in quickly and the food came out so fast! He answered any questions we had and gave a great recommendation on the drink. I truly appreciated them adding me to a waitlist specifically for the outdoor seating as they were not full indoors. I highly recommend this place, great food and service.

Great service and great food. HIGHLY recommend the steak sandwich and burrata appetizer. Their truffle fries also have the perfect amount of truffle, not too overpowering! Loveeee the inside vibe and feel

Stopped for an early dinner and ordered the Vegetarian Quinoa burger and the ricotta peaches bruschetta. Both were light and very flavorful! They were so good that we forgot to take pictures. We also did some cocktails which were very well made.

Place was packed but the hostess was very nice and accommodating. We sat at the bar and had some delicious burgers.

Great place to hang out! We had the caesar salad and lunch burger. Both were delicious! I loved how light my salad was. They have a big selection of whiskeys! There are a couple of tv's for all the sportsball people out there. Loved the decor as well!

Our experience at Meat & Cheese in Aspen was disappointing from beginning to end…read more To start with, the food was mediocre in every sense. The quality did not justify the prices, the flavors were forgettable, and nothing we ordered stood out. Unfortunately, what happened afterward was far worse. My wife accidentally left behind a shopping bag containing a brand new pair of sunglasses she had purchased earlier that day. When she returned to retrieve them, our interaction with a server named Carson was deeply disappointing. Instead of simply confirming ownership in a courteous and professional manner, Carson repeatedly questioned whether the sunglasses were actually hers. He kept emphasizing that they were brand new and worth around $600, making it clear that he found it difficult to believe they belonged to her. It was impossible not to feel that she was being judged based solely on her appearance. There is absolutely nothing wrong with verifying ownership of a valuable item. In fact, we appreciate businesses that take lost property seriously. What is unacceptable is allowing assumptions and stereotypes to influence how customers are treated. One lesson worth remembering is that genuine elegance and long established wealth rarely need to announce themselves. Those who have had the privilege of success across generations often feel no need to advertise it with designer logos or outward displays. True class is reflected in education, humility, confidence, and, above all, in the way people treat others. Ironically, Carson's assumptions said far more about his own judgment than they did about my wife. No customer should ever be made to feel that they need to "look wealthy" in order to be treated with respect. We hope management addresses this issue seriously. The mediocre food was forgettable. Being judged and treated with prejudice is not. Every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and dignity, regardless of how they are dressed or what assumptions someone chooses to make about them.

The place has plenty of history and has been a social spot in Aspen for generations. The Old West vibe is still very much alive, which is rare in a city that has more hipster spots than anything else. My partner and I both enjoyed our cocktails. We sat at the bar, but there were plenty of tables too. Service was decent, if a little inconsistent. Our first server was fine but seemed somewhat checked out, while the second one randomly brought us bar snacks around our second drink (nuts, and they were delicious). I did not feel like arguing so we just decided to have some pizzas and drinks. That was a big mistake. I ordered what looked like a calzone (pizza that is wrapped) and it was the saltiest dish I've tried. Again we were trying to be mindful and too nice but I think we just went too far for being too nice. I then ordered the other pizza and it was honestly quite mediocre. The waiter was really nice and that's why I'm giving it 1 star otherwise it would be zero for us. They weren't even willing to provide salad. Come on! You can't even make salad in your kitchen? That was just ridiculous. And believe it or not, we had amazing food in every other restaurant we tried in Aspen so this was certainly a one off. My suggestion to the management team is to be honest about your the last call from your kitchen. If you close at 10pm and your kitchen runs till 9pm, you ought to be able to take orders till 9pm. Otherwise, be upfront and shot down kitchen at 8:30pm. Quite disappointed and not even sure if I would ever want to give this place a try.
