I got a surprise call from the Branch Manager himself, Eric, who picked up my last-minute, same-day reschedule and came out personally to handle the job. ​From the start, he made an incredible first impression. He was super professional and took his time explaining exactly what he was going to do--nothing felt rushed. After treating the exterior, he walked me through everything he sprayed and where he laid the rodent traps, taking the time to explain a few different options for our property. I really appreciated the attention to detail; he even noticed our trash cans, sprayed and wiped down the black widow spiders and webs, and made sure to clean the trash can handles. ​For the interior, Eric made sure to address all of our specific areas of concern. As a parent, it gave me peace of mind when he explained that the products are kid and pet-friendly and told us exactly what to expect next. He even provided commercial-grade bait to place in areas where pests like to pop up. ​This family-owned business completely blew past my expectations. Out of my 4 contracted services with this company, they left my gate to my backyard unlocked 3 times. After multiple calls and requests both verbally and via text message, they continued to leave my back gate open. I have a pool. It's absolutely irresponsible for a company to leave a gate open. She scolded me for not letting her do her job and said she lost someone a few weeks ago. How tone deaf can you get????? I told her ok! They came up to me and gave a deal that was too good to be true. $399 to $19.99 saying that it's cheaper because they needed to fill in a slot since they're in the area. I told them I'd think about it and let them know and they asked for my information including my credit card. When I refused he said "Why not?" After the interaction, they messaged me the next day saying that they were on the way but were gonna be late even though I have not agreed to scheduling anything. I stayed with them for as long as I could. They were supposed to be treating my property for spiders. Every 6 weeks. Don't know what they used, but spiders were back in less than two weeks. I replied to their notification of next service email not to bother. That due to substandard performance, their services were no longer required. That's when it got weird. But this high school student was going door to door in our neighborhood to sell a pest control contract for $47 a month. We were having an ant problem so the timing couldn't have been better. The techs were fine and came out monthly to spray the perimeter. They were fine with rescheduling last minute. The problem was when we wanted to cancel the 12 month contract. I called 30 days in advance to cancel the contract at the 12 month mark. They charged $147 to do this. My husband called to tell them that they charged us 3x thinking they made a mistake but they wrote us an odd email stating they reviewed our file and assured us that they were correct on this charge. I will say this they draw you in for a monthly $98 service, but don't mention they invoice you twice a month. Shady. I signed up for a single service because I was having an issue with black widows, they came and billed us which we paid. Only to find out that they were not actually getting rid of the spiders, only clearing webs. My whole yard was covered in webs within a week. To make matters worse, they continued to return repeatedly and I gave them one more chance to PROPERLY clear the black widows, which they said because the issue returned so quickly it would be free. Same thing, all webs back within a week AND I was billed. They continued to bill us monthly and only then did I find out I had been signed up for reoccurring service I did not want. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS. A sales rep came to our house in September of last year. Offered to spray everything for a special price that they had going on for $99. The sales rep made it seem like it was a one time deal and had me sign some paperwork that looked like a receipt. What they don't tell you is you sign up for a year long contract charging you $99 a month. I noticed a reoccurring monthly payment. When you try to cancel they make you pay in full. I called their corporate number who are equally unhelpful, they are based in Austin, TX. There is no live person to speak to appeal your charges only an email. I emailed the email they gave me for appeals in September of 2025 and didn't get a response from them until April 2026. Luckily I was pushy enough with corporate that they lowered the fee and I stayed on the phone until I got a receipt, a cancellation of contract, and made them delete all my personal information. I closed the account months before in December of 2025 mind you and the appeals department had the audacity to email me that I still owed. The appeals department isn't even apart of the same company according to corporate and there is no live person to speak to. I had to threaten civil suit. I filed a complaint on this business with the FTC and BBB. Also even though I was still paying for the "service" no one came out and continued to spray the house. Update: Contacted the Structural Pest Control Board of California, the licensing entity, who stepped in to resolve my situation. (916)561-8708 After several months of back-and-forth with White Knight, they canceled my contract and insisted they were going to charge me a cancellation fee as well as charging me for services I never agreed to. Almost immediately they sent me to collections. The amount they told me they were going to charge me, the amount the collections billed me, and the amount that they said I owed in my account were all different with the highest being $700. Remember, I had a signed contract that showed. I should only pay every quarter and they refused to honor that contract and insisted I had to pay monthly. This was a mistake they made and refused to fix. I contacted the California agency that licenses, pest Control, the structural pest control board, to ask for help. They were extremely helpful and friendly and said they knew about White Knight, but can only help if people report them. They had me me fill out a complaint form and within three weeks I had a refund, collections was canceled, and my account was closed. We decided to give them a try although we already had pest control at our home, they promised to buy us out of our contract with our existing pest control and they said their chemicals were safer. The next day they showed up for treatment early in the morning, I texted the sales person Aaron to ask if he had cancelled our current pest control and he hadn't yet. They said we had to pay higher price for last 2 months since we are cancelling. Mo rate was $124/mo - so expected to pay $248 for final 2 months. Got an invoice for over $600 - asked for copy of the contract and said we weren't cancelling till after 12th payment, claimed they had already cancelled us and this was penalty fees. Originally placed order with our landline - but when we called from mobile phone, said they couldn't talk to us unless from landline; and refused to update with our mobile number so we could call from that. Yes they have retreatment service between scheduled treatments, but if the first treatment didn't work how is a second? Canceling is almost impossible. Neighborhood Alert: Concerning Sales Tactics by White Knight Pest Control Rep This afternoon, a salesman from White Knight Pest Control knocked very aggressively at my door. He claimed he was servicing a neighbor across the street and wanted to offer a discounted rate--$99 instead of their usual $400--for pest control. He launched into a rapid, memorized sales pitch that felt rehearsed and pressured. I politely told him I might be interested but not today, as I needed to speak with my husband first. When he asked where my husband was, I explained that he was very sick in bed with COVID. What happened next was alarming. The salesman asked if I could go talk to my husband and I said no, I don't want to get near my sick husband. He then asked if we going on a summer vacation soon, which felt like an odd and intrusive question to ask.I told him no we are not going anywhere. Despite all of this, he again pushed me to contact my husband, even suggesting I text him while he might be asleep and unwell. When I declined again, he said "I have had COVID too, and I could talk when I had COVID So your husband can't talk when he's sick?" At that point, I was extremely uncomfortable and told him he was being too aggressive--then closed the door. I want neighbors to be aware of how pushy and invasive this sales rep was. White Knight Pest Control's billing practices are extremely misleading. When I signed up, I was told that two monthly payments covered one service visit since they only serviced the yard every other month. That's how the billing was explained to me from the beginning. Now, after I completed my full 1-year contract, they are suddenly claiming that THREE monthly payments cover one service visit and are trying to charge me an additional $239.96 for services they have not performed. Changing the explanation of the billing after the contract is completed feels dishonest and deceptive. I fulfilled my agreement and should not be charged for future work that hasn't happened.
