Georgie came today (7/1/26)- he was pleasant and kind, detailed, and went above and beyond. He did all the nooks and crannies inside and outside and in the garage!!! Wow!!! Moxie Pest Control engages in aggressive and harassing door-to-door sales tactics. After clearly declining at the door, their sales rep continued to push and prolong the conversation rather than respecting our answer. This was not a one-time visit and they have returned to our home on multiple occasions (during dinner time) despite repeated declinations. This behavior is unwanted, disrespectful, and borders on harassment. It is clear this is a trained sales approach, not an isolated incident. Consumers should be warned: a firm "no" is not respected by this company's door-to-door staff. We should not have to feel uncomfortable in our own home because a company refuses to train its representatives to accept a declined offer gracefully. read more

So dispicable. Some lady in Village Niguel Gardens had the company come out to throw rat poison all over the community property. This is right by the pool where there are kids and lots of people walk their dogs! So now not only do we risk poisoning our children and pets, but we we have lots of birds, bunnies, squirrels, and even ducks in the area! Otherwise, Moxie is just a revenue system: smooth-voiced salesman with a contract to sign, scheduling people who are hard to reach and slow to get back, and service guys who appear to have NO contact with either sales or scheduling. We originally signed up for their service as a preventative measure as we never really had pest issues before. After four services, we ended up with more bugs, spiders, and even roaches than ever. We have never seen ants in our house, and 2 days after our last service, we had an unbelievably massive trail of ants crawling from their exactly treatment area, onto our couch. this affirmed we made the right decision on canceling service. Every time we voiced concern, we were told that "an increase in activity for 14-21 days is normal" because their products are for long-term use. That might make sense once, but their treatments are quarterly, so by their own logic, you'd constantly be in a cycle of "increased pest activity" that never ends. It completely defeats the purpose of hiring a pest control company in the first place. We paid $185 per visit to create a pest problem instead of preventing one. They came down and said the whole building needed to be sprayed but I needed a solution right away so they said they could just treat my unit and they gave me a quote for a treatment plan on my unit quarterly then the day of after I put all my stuff in bags and in the middle of the room at 8 o'clock in the morning, they told me that the owner of the building needed to confirm he was gonna spray the entire building before they sprayed my unit. They should've told me that from the very beginning the guy had a hard time even finding my place. I had to run out in the street and wave them down and then the day of they canceled on me when they told me they could do it and now my whole place is in shambles bad business. read more

One of the installers had a huge sucker-bite on his neck and we witnessed him frequently scratching his crotch throughout the day. GROSS! He used our bathroom without asking and left it a mess. Wife donned hazmat equipment to clean. They blew in the attic insulation and we found insulation matter raining down in and outside the house through the vents and ceiling lights, fans, especially the garage that had a layer of this stuff on everything. I appreciate working with Moxie for the last two years. We have the basic service for the bug spray and outdoor rodent issues (pain of living by the canyon). So far they have been very responsive and very effective for insect control. Few months ago my house was invaded by ants and Adam E. was very helpful. He came back to spray the house for bird mites after we had bird nests in our rafters. Another time we had our hibiscus infested with white bugs and they came and sprayed the plant following a major trim by our Gardner. No more issues since then. read more

They FORGOT one of the mosquito buckets and the other one was cracked! We have 2 dogs and we Repeatedly told them we needed an hour's notice so we could lock the dogs in the house. They never gave us more than 15 minutes notice AND they left the back gate open THREE TIMES and my dogs got out! Moxie Pest control comes to your door offers you a "discount " of $99 for their services. What I agreed to was a service every 90 days for 12 months. But you're locked into what you think is one year. It's actually five services. Which is a 15 month commitment not a 12 month commitment ? After the initial $99 ineffective 'treatment' service cost go up to $169 each 3 months. The claim is that they gave you a discount from $269 to $99 If you want to cancel they charge you that $170 that was your "discount " and the penalty for not staying the entire 15 months - which you think is only 12 months. When it's initially explained there's somebody at the door with a computerised contract so of course you don't read it because you actually believe them and it is explained quite well.... Just not truthfully or accurately. You really don't get a good bang for your buck . Even if your job situation changes and your finances change, they don't care and I was told if I did not pay they would just charge the rest of it on my credit card. I had to cancel my credit card and of course pay them the last ineffective treatment by check Now they want $170 to cancel a service that I'm not even getting. I was deceived in signing what I believed was a 12 month agreement for $99 at every three months instead it's 15 months. When I complained, I got an email and in the email it was stated " here's the agreement we agreed on and that you requested" I never asked them to send me anything. I requested they waive the cancellation fee because I was deceived and they did a bad job. Every time they come to service your house, there is a text with a review request and they ask for a tip for the technician that does your services. Moxie is the worst service. I just got billed for a quarterly payment of $180 for them to spray my wet under construction property one time. Our account automatically turned back on after being on hold for 6 months, they came out and sprayed a dirt lot basically. I called to cancel the service because we aren't paying for someone to spray our dirt property and they said sure, just pay us $180 for your quarterly fee. Absolute fraud. Our entire neighborhood cancelled the service already I should have listened to my neighbors. Charging for a quarterly service for a one time spray is a disgusting way to conduct business. If do not value the importance of honey bees, then by all means go ahead and go with Moxie services. If you actually care, then I can tell you as a unsatisfied past customer, you will find hundreds of dead honey bees around the parameter of your home. They claim it does not affect the honey bees, which is clearly an absolute lie. Also, be prepared to fully understand that lengthy contract before you sign it. If you try to cancel the service early your fee will be $200. They also claim it's safe for humans and pets. I'm done taking that risk with my health. It's not worth it! read more

I've had Moxie Pest control servicing my home for over a year now. All is good with the bug /lawn granules to keep pests away. And now the problem starts. They called me and said I have a free termite inspection. I had Marcus out today to perform that service. No termites were visible. He did make holes in my trim around my windows and I told him it was dry rot, but he continued to make the holes bigger. Now I have to have it replaced sooner than I wanted to. Then he gave me a price of $2800 for termite bait. Called me a hr later and said if I do it Saturday he would knock off $200. We'll I felt he was trying to make his quota and take advantage of me. My point is I probably would have done the work if he would have not tried to up sale me and take advantage. These so called salesman need to know not all women are idiots. They installed termite traps which were in the ground for two years. That was fine. But when I asked them to remove the traps, they came and took them out. But they left about 2.5 foot deep holes with a-diameter of at least 3 inches in my lawn. There are about 14 of these holes all abound my house. (Direct quote from email). Moxie changed from quarterly to monthly billing for my 1 year contract commitment. They subsequently charged me quarterly fees of $169 in October which should cover Oct/Nov/Dec. Then charged me a second time at the monthly rate of $56.34 for November. Super sketchy if I wasn't paying attention, I would be charged double for November and December. Not cool. Pretty much fraud. Went from 2 stars to 1 star. read more

Sean L. and his field technician wentb above and beyond they're duty to inspect every single inch of our property and home looking any type of bug and rodent activity. They must of spent a good deal of time doing all their fumigation. They were very receptive and answered all my questions. I couldn't be any happier with my service. When I look for a new service, I usually do a lot of research. With Moxie, I was caught off guard because a salesman knocked on my door to give his sales pitch and showed me a wasp nest hanging under my roof. Like someone else mentioned here, he kept emphasizing that so and so a few doors down and so and so a few doors across also use their service. Don't know if it's true or not but they better not sell my name to pitch to my neighbors because I am no longer a customer and I would never recommend their service. Now reading through the reviews, I see that they're just a company with questionable business ethics repeating bad service. The one smart thing they are doing is pushing their door-to-door sales tactics since they would get zero business through referrals or word of mouth. I'm sure all they do is look for new neighborhoods and try to get new sign-ups rather than trying to retain existing customers. It's a horrible business model, but apparently it works for them. I think most customers would follow in my steps, get caught off guard signing up through a door-to-door sales pitch and then come to this review page only after it's too late. But for what it's worth, here's why you should NOT sign up with Moxie. When the salesman gives his pitch, he makes it sound like they can and will do everything for you. Well, just know that they basically can't do anything for you because of safety or liability issues. Yes, they did remove the wasp nest, but all they did was drop it onto my roof. So now I have a wasp nest sitting on my roof. When I asked them to remove it, they said they can't use ladders to perform any work because of safety issues. Had I known that their idea of "removing a wasp nest" is simply knocking it down with a long stick I would not have signed up for their service. During the sales pitch I was also told that they can remove all the cobwebs around my house. When I asked someone to remove some on the ceiling of my garage during a service call, they said they aren't allowed to because of liability issues. Well, the cobwebs I want removed are the ones inside my garage. Leave the cobwebs outdoors alone, that's nature. When I asked them to close my account, they said I received a steep discount for my initial service and will need to pay that back. So that's another way they make money since apparently they know customers aren't going to last through their subscription. Another annoying part is all the customer reps mindlessly repeating what they are trained to say. When I was explaining my situation they kept saying "I completely understand, I would be frustrated too." Well, then do something about it. The best part was when the customer rep gave her sales pitch to call them back when I see increased pest activity while I was closing my account because I was so fed up with them.
