I have a 2014 Ultra Limited and a 2012 Road King that I do most maintenance and modifications on. I took my ultra in to do a coolant flush because it has never had one that I know of (bought in 2019 from original owner). I'm sure I could have done it, but I decided to let a tech handle it. I scheduled an appointment and when I got there, I felt like I was bothering the service writer. He let on like I wasn't in the system (10 year customer), and as if I had no appointment scheduled. I had to repeat the service that I wanted multiple times. I never got a call that it was done (after waiting a week) and when I went to pick it up, the same guy acted like he was being bothered again and sent Waldo (who seems cool) to look for it to see if it was even there. The receipt was cryptic and I'm not sure a coolant flush was actually done. He wasn't either. I have some gripes with the parts counter over the years too. However, HD started putting their parts diagrams online and that has helped me a lot. I just go in and tell them part numbers these days. If I ask for more than a couple of items though, they seem bothered by that. Maybe I don't look the part, but I've been riding bikes since I was a teenager. I guess I don't fit in there or something. Still love my bikes and the wife is getting a 2020 Sportster Forty-Eight soon. I doubt that I'll take it to the service dept. Maybe I'll get a few service parts there. read more

I bought a used harley from white lighting, spotted 48 had 9 thousand miles on it ,bought it as is. I new it was going to need tires and a new drive belt, I was waiting for delivery, so I called a few cycle shops to get new tires and belt put on when I got it.I finally got bike delivered the following week ,I was like what's taking so long for delivery, ill tell you why when I got bike it was beautiful, had new tires on it,new drive belt it looked awesome.what a great job they did,mason my salesman was the best, service department was great ,waldo what a good job. Stopped by here today on a Saturday to look at motorcycles. The Harley Davidsons I looked at were new and come with a 2 year warranty that includes parts and labor. You can get an extended warranty for an additional $1800. I took several pictures of their motorcycles in the show room, so be sure to check them out. Their prices range any where from $12,000 to $33,000 for new Harley's that they had in stock on this day I visited them. Used Harley's start at $9,900. Once entering the show room. The used cycles are the two rows in the center. The outside rows and every thing else are new. Now, once here be sure to check out the Silverdale Confederate cemetery behind the store which has 150 unknown confederate soldiers buried there. Also, the salesman who waited on me was Dan. All the girls that were in the clothing department were extremely kind and polite and offered assistance! Caveat Emptor!! Buyer Beware! I took my FLHTK to WLHD for tires back in April. Once the wheels were off, I was told that the rear brake pads needed replacing. I was escorted to the bike and shown that the pads were indeed worn almost into the metal. Had a couple of other small things done as well and my bike was ready in a few days, just in tome for a big ride I had planned. I noticed the brake pedal seemed to travel farther than normal but figured, "it's just a little air in the line and should work itself out." Fast forward to today. The pedal has been getting gradually worse and I was finally able to take the bike back. I called ahead to verify someone could look at it quickly as I would be on my lunch break. "Sure, come on in." This was after a description of the problem and the service writer reviewing the records. While on the phone the service writer stated you probably need a brake fluid flush. Once I arrived, I was greeted kind of abruptly by the service advisor who again asked about a brake fluid flush. I told him that no, it has not been done. He said, "I guarantee that is the problem. It is probably like cottage cheese in there." He had the bike pulled into the shop and in less than 10 minutes came out and said, "Yep. You need a brake fluid flush." I told him that I didn't think that was the problem and inquired about the brake pads they had recently installed. He said, "I don't know. i didn't look at them. I will be right back." He came back and stated that they were worn to about 75% life. I thought, In only a couple of months? He kept insisting that it was because the brake fluid hasn't been flushed and the lines were full of water (4% is what his hydrometer registered). I told him that I believe the line has air because the system wasn't bled after the pads were replaced. He rudely stated that he would have the tech bleed the brakes and "get it out of here". It's funny to me that the brake pedal now feels like it did the day I bought the bike. I know flushing the brake fluid occasionally is a good thing. I also know that excessive moisture in the brake fluid can cause problems. I also know that a brake fluid flush is not a repair procedure when there is a brake concern. Had he had the bike diagnosed, bled the brakes and told that the pedal is now fine but I would recommend a brake fluid flush, he might have made a sale. As it stands at this point, he was more concerned about upselling before I ever arrived at the dealership. Someone needs to teach him how to be friendly and how to sell. If you go there, be careful and know when to call BS. FWIW, the previous visit when Waldo took care of me was flawless except for the air in the brake line. read more

I have been a Harley owner and rider for decades. These guys were hands down the best I have worked with. My wife and I visited the store about 2 weeks ago. I wanted to show her the color options of the 2019 Road Glide Ultra I was considering. After she spent 3 minutes reviewing the bikes, she was off to the clothing area. We didn't walk out with a bike that day, but my wife and grandkids all have wardrobe additions. My wife this was the most comfortable she had ever felt in a Harley Dealership. Last Saturday I contacted the store about Noon to verify they still had the bike in stock that I wanted. They did. We agreed on the deal over the phone. As it was cold and raining, they agreed to deliver the bike to my house (90 miles away) that evening. As always, the paperwork took longer than planned. However, they honored the exact deal we agreed upon on the phone and threw in a couple of pretty cool shirts. (Not the "I bought my Harley at" shirts. Regular logo'd shirts. I had 36 designs to choose from.) As it was getting late, I was concerned they were going to push my delivery off until the following week. Knowing the weather was going to be great on Sunday, this would have upset me. Not to worry. They delivered my bike that evening, getting to my house around 8:30PM. Keep in mind this guy had to haul that empty trailer back in the rain and would not even get back to the Dealership until after 10PM! Not the way most of want to spend our Saturday nights. Excellent customer service. During a cross country ride starting in North Idaho, my bike started a dreaded growl in the primary. Knowing how busy the shop is back home, I feared the worst when I pulled into White Lightening. However, after talking to Jathan "Tiny Dancer" Reeves, he had my bike back with a tech in 30 minutes. A quick diagnosis was what I feared. It was an inner primary bearing and a new clutch basket. The shop committed to having it done by the next day (Saturday) and went to work. They offered a ride to a hotel if I needed. Less than 24 hours later, they had the bike finished and washed waiting for me to continue my trip. I can't thank them enough. Jathan was excellent and kept me updated the entire time. A load of stress off my mind. Thanks for taking care of my bike and assisting me on my trip without delay. You guys rock. read more

I'm not affiliated with TCHD in any way. I didn't even buy my Night Rod there, but I've attended many events and have purchased accessories and have had great experiences every time. We'll definitely be purchasing our next Harley from them. If I didn't like the style of the clothes I wouldn't buy them, but I also wouldn't give a negative review because of that or them not carrying my size. A negative review for not servicing an antique isn't exactly fair either. A near thirty year old motorcycle is a sign that you won't be buying another bike any time soon. Not the best business practice, but that's no reason to hate. Try one of our great local motorcycle shops if TCHD doesn't CHOOSE to service your bike. And we did bring our 1989 Softail (with 7000 original miles) here last year for service, which was satisfactory. This year? No joy... I bought my 2002 night train in May of last year, had it for 2 months and it started making a grinding noise, so I parked the bike and had it hauled in to white lightning to get it checked out. Less than 24 hours I get a phone call with "bad news" I need a new motor which they would be more than happy to install for the low, low price of $7,000 dollars. So let me get this straight, I owe $5000 on a bike that needs a $7,000 dollar motor meaning I'm going to have $12,000 in a bike that's worth $4500 on a good day?? Yeah I think I'll pass on your offer. But thank you white lightning for my new garage ornament! Yes I know there are other ways around getting a motor, such as a smaller motorcycle repair shop, where I can get it done for much cheaper. But it's the principle of the matter. These guys did nothing to offer any help. Granted, I know they don't have to, since it's a used bike with no warranty. But come on man, I had it not even 2 months and it needs a motor, I didnt even put 800 miles on the bike! All they can do is let me trade the bike in for 500 bucks, roll the balance over to a new bike and screw me over on a new bike. This was my second bike I bought from white lightning, it will be my LAST, and I will make sure that anyone who asks about them around me knows how bad they burnt me on a used bike. I'm not asking for a new bike or some massive favor, but not even an offer of discounted labor, swap it for another used bike, a loaner bike, a t shirt? On a cross country ride; mechanical issues, purchased new bike in Dallas; in need of 1000 service to maintain warranty. Thunder Creek staff stayed open late (we didn't realize time zone changed) waiting for us. They didn't need to do this, but realized our situation. I made an appointment for service 2 weeks in advance. I told them I wanted both tires changed and a 1000 mile service. I dropped the bike off the night before my service was to be performed. I did not hear from them until late the next afternoon when they called to say the front tire was on order. They told me it would be ready in two days, but it was 9 days before the bike was ready. The day I went to pick it up the battery was dead so they said it would be awhile. There was a sales event going on at the time. I said I hope they would make it up to me for all the hassle and then the service counter guy just got as rude as could be. The bike being serviced was purchased at this dealership 4 years prior. so far the service dept. is a huge disapointment. called had tires priced for my bike, got the price, agreed to get them had a appointment, to bring the bike in, got a call saying the tires were misquoted, were actually about 150.00 higher. i agreed to it, brought the bike in a week later, dropped it off, get a phone call saying they dont have the tire in stock.... they knew i was coming a week earlier. after that, im told i need new rotors, brake pads and a new rear brake caliper, caliper seemed to be working great when i rode it in. said maybe they could rebuild the caliper, but get a call back saying they couldnt, i need a new one, so now ive been waiting for a few weeks for a rear break caliper for a 2012 softail,. all in all, i went in for new tires. 650.00 its been almost a month and they have me up to around 1750.00. i call them every few days or so to check, because they wont call and give a status for anything. id say if you want a jacket or shirt check them out, if you want work done on your bike go somewhere else. i bought my first two harley in alexandria la, i guess ill be heading there if i ever decide to get another one UPDATE: finally got my bike back yesterday 5/1/21,they have had the bike well over one month. everything seems to be working correctly, seems to be repaired with the new tires . but the discount they promised me for the incorrect quote wasnt honored, they said my discount was free installation of the tires..glad to have the bike back, will never give them the chance to work on anything again. read more
