Honestly, I was terrified to receive an epidural as it wasn't in my "birth plan," but I found the procedure to be relatively painless and quick. Most importantly, I am nearly one month postpartum and don't have lingering pain at the injection site which I was afraid and told by many may happen. Dr Liu is a doctor that listens to you and she wants to help you heal. She use both acupuncture & cupping technique and occasionally will apply an electrical tapping like pad for my detox sessions. I also had " trigger finger " on my right the right thumb . The pain was severe that I couldn't even open anything that had lids on it . I told Dr Liu and she immediately addressed it and after 4 treatments , the pain completely went away. I was elated ! My western doctor suggested a steroid shot or possibly surgery if trigger finger pain didn't go away. The doctor helped me so much with the pain in my neck and back and I am so incredibly grateful! I will note though, if you are fat and living in a larger body this may not be the best place for you. This is my body and I am fully aware of the changes it went through while dealing with stress. the dr's notes on the size of my body were always pretty neutral. Until my last appt. I had mentioned that since releasing my back and hips had been really bothering me. In response she told me that my hips hurt because of the extra weight on my body, I replied quickly and told her that was not the case and continued with my treatment but already knew I would not be coming back. A practitioner denying the pain due to fatness is so disappointing! I have not lost any significant amount of weight since that visit but have thankfully dealt this the hip pain through another practitioner and it has made it so much easier for me to comfortable workout again! I am lifting weights and doing yoga again since that pain has become less and less and my body feels better and more ready for movement. I type this review only to share with other fat women my experience, especially because I was able to relieve the pain without losing weight and am now able to move my body better than even I was at my tiniest! She knows what she's doing, she's knowledgeable, patient & took the time to listen to my issues. She's also a nutritionist and she asked me to keep a food journal. I have rheumatoid arthritis and have inflammation in my shoulders and elbows. After 3 treatments I have more movement and flexibility, less pain & less inflammation. I also tried their massage once after acupuncture, it helped a lot. I had a great experience, acupuncture definitely works, I would give it a try.
