This is my body and I am fully aware of the changes it went through while dealing with stress. the dr's notes on the size of my body were always pretty neutral. Until my last appt. I had mentioned that since releasing my back and hips had been really bothering me. In response she told me that my hips hurt because of the extra weight on my body, I replied quickly and told her that was not the case and continued with my treatment but already knew I would not be coming back. A practitioner denying the pain due to fatness is so disappointing! I have not lost any significant amount of weight since that visit but have thankfully dealt this the hip pain through another practitioner and it has made it so much easier for me to comfortable workout again! I am lifting weights and doing yoga again since that pain has become less and less and my body feels better and more ready for movement. I type this review only to share with other fat women my experience, especially because I was able to relieve the pain without losing weight and am now able to move my body better than even I was at my tiniest! She listens to you and treats you as a whole person. I really can't say enough nice things about her. If you are looking for an acupuncturist in the NELA area, do yourself a favor and call her. She also has offices in San Gabriel and possibly Chinatown. So give her a call, if those areas are near you also. You won't regret it. Oh, she takes many insurance policies also, so be sure to ask after that. If you are Kaiser you need to get a referral from "pain management" or "physical medicine," or at least that is what I was told by my orthopedist.
