i have been looking for a place that does gel x/hard gel and are capable of fun designs. my first visit here was a success, and i will def be coming back once this set grows out. all the girls here were super helpful and accommodating, and i love my nails! this first set was just to test them out but you can tell a lot about a place from the quality of their french tip

Van did my nails and she did such a great job I am very impressed with her work and will be back to request her. I showed her a inspo pic and she replicated it pretty accurately along with some adjustments I made. Another lady did my pedicure, she did a great job as well, the massage and exfoliation was nice. I've been to the white lotus in Bothell and had a great experience there as well. Overall very satisfied with my nails and the customer service is great, everyone is nice and efficient. Highly recommend:)

I'm glad that I didn't read the reviews before coming... contrary to the experiences others have had, mine was really good. I've tried a number of salons in the ballard/market street area, and white lotus has been the best experience so far. The staff are very cordial and the quality of their work is really good! My nail tech was Mary. She was quick with the service - I was surprised at how efficient she was with my gel refill. No wasted movements, and she understood what I wanted from the picture. It only took about 1hr from walk in to leaving. I've found my new nail spot, whoo! In addition, you can text them for an appointment, for those who are averse to phone calls! They are very friendly and helpful via text. The prices are very fair too- definitely give them a try for your nails! So happy to have found a great nail salon near my apartment!

I came here on vacation to get some fun Halloween nails with my friend and they did not disappoint! I'm obsessed with our nails and I'm so sad I won't be able to get another set from them for a while. The vibe was also great and I appreciated the front desk worker and was impressed by his attentiveness.

I had a terrible time with unprofessional and rude behavior. I went here last year for my brother's wedding with similar complaints about this behavior. I wanted to give them a second chance, but am disappointed. I am still unsure that I got the full nail care treatment that is supposed to be provided in the package I selected. I had to ask twice if I was going to receive certain treatments that were included. I asked her if she was going to push and/or cut my cuticles and each time I had to ask, she treated me very rudely. When she proceeded to cut them, she nicked me twice, and it was obvious that she was irritated. As she continued to coat my nails, it would sting the cuts and there was bleeding. Her glove also ripped at one point, but she continued to use it anyway. Overall, she had very terrible customer service and was very rude. There are quite a few mistakes made on my nails, and just a lack of attention to detail. On top of being uneven, she got glitter on other nails and when I asked her to remove it, she said it would just wash off which was not the case and when I showed her, she brushed me off and said it's fine. I felt very uncomfortable my entire time there. I am unhappy with the experience I had with Van Truong as I paid $75 for this service. I will never come here again.

I have been going to White Lotus Salon ever since my last review six years ago. All the staff is extremely friendly and I've never had a bad experience here. For this particular review I would like to shout out to Mary and Van! I brought a close friend here to celebrate her birthday and she treated her inner child to some glow in the dark nails. We both love our services that were done and appreciated how each technician worked with us and our ideas to make our nails really come alive. I HIGHLY recommend this salon to anyone looking for a great nail salon home, with lovely people, beautiful decor and who like to support women owned businesses, and small local businesses in general. I will obviously be back again very soon :)

I feel really bad to write this review as I've been going to this nail salon for the last few years. Generally, my services have been wonderful - amazing pedicures/manicures as well as a lovely staff. However, this last service was not as great as previous times. I got a gel manicure & pedicure the other day and the woman doing my manicure was a bit aggressive with the cuticle cutter. She ended up cutting me on five of my fingers causing each one to bleed. I didn't notice until the manicure was done and I could feel soreness on my hands. Thankfully, the male technician doing my pedicure could tell I was in pain and asked if everything was okay - I showed him my nails and he took care of me by bringing it up the receptionist who then gave me a small discount as well as the female technician who did my manicure. She ended up coming back out and putting this solution on my fingers to stop the bleeding that burned immensely! A few days later (as I'm writing this), I am still in a lot of pain and a few of my fingers look/feel injured. I'm honestly pretty upset that a simple manicure could lead to this. I have been cut before by manicurist going too hard with the nail cutter or drill but not on multiple fingers. Also, I have had this female technician a few months prior and she went really rough on the nail drill after I told her my nails were sensitive post transitioning off of acrylic sets for a year. It was incredibly painful. I probably won't be returning to this salon as regularly anymore or getting manicures from this same manicurists. Getting your nails done should be mostly relaxing and not leaving you in pain / bleeding. White Lotus - Please teach your technicians to be mindful and soft with the tools they are using

Ah where do I begin. I used to live white lotus but I don't know what happened this time. At first I was shocked because they no longer offered acrylic without gel so I automatically had to pay $55 and up so I of course was annoyed but went through with it. I've gotten my nails done PLENTY of times so I know the process. The girl although she was extremely nice was an amateur and if I'm paying $55 for a full set and expected to pay for a very basic gel then I NEED a good job to be done. The girl who did my nails was really slow, I asked for coffin and showed her the exact shape I wanted and didn't deliver. Why didn't I say anything? Well because by this time I was already over it because I was cut and burnt on multiple fingers and just wanted to be done. She knew she cut me and apologized but I wasn't offered anything..maybe a little discount would of been nice but nope...nothing. Just a sorry and have a nice day.

I would leave 1 star but I've had such a good time here previously that it pains me to write this. Businesses are struggling because of the pandemic but when I pay $67 and walk out with nails that look like mine did, it almost feels like a robbery. Unfortunately I did not have time to ask them to redo my nails because I was on a tight schedule to fly home for my bridal shower, and booked this fill and art a week in advance. The service rapidly has declined here and I will be looking for a new salon. When I walked in, the receptionist who checked me in asked me repeatedly if I was sure I made an appointment, so I showed her the texts to confirm. She seemed confused. After being sat, two different employees worked on my nails. The initial artist did a good job filling and shaping my nails but when it came to the nail art, it was almost appalling. Not only did the art not look close to what I hoped to get, she did not take the time to oil my cuticles or ask me how I felt after. She kept going back and forth to the front desk and painting my hands in between clients. I felt like an after thought, and my nails are nowhere near what I wanted for a day that is supposed to be extremely special to me. Now I'll be flying out of state and rushing to find someone to fix these.

I would call it just okay! If you're in a bind and need to get a mani/pedi for an event it wasn't awful (nails look good) but just not a high quality experience! Pedicure had basically no foot massage (just legs) and dip manicure kind of runs outside of my nails so hair is getting snagged (kind of like a rough edge?)

I know very little about getting my nails done, I rarely take the time to take care of my person in this regard. The women here were patient with me and the tech did an absolutely lovely job with my nails and took a good amount of time with them. I left very happy, albeit in a little bit of a rush!

I asked for an acrylic full set for a vacation coming up because a lot of places were closed due to snow last minute. They used an acrylic dip method which I've never ever seen before (I've had acrylics for over 5 years now). The acrylic was cool, but the set I got was uneven shape wise, and for some reason the middle finger was really short. The index finger was the length I wanted and the technician cut the middle and ring finger too short. The middle finger is also too round due to the stiletto tip. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home and looked at my hands in the light, and my own dad pointed out it looked off (my dad know nothing about nails). I would not recommend this salon for my acrylic nail friends with that being said. I got my nails redone at another salon. The pedicures are nice though, and color is cute. read more

If you're looking to get your nails done in Ballard, look no further. This is your place. In the last year, I frequented two other nail salons in Ballard. This is my second time at White Lotus and there is no comparison. The staff is so friendly, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the work they do is even better. I just left after getting a pedicure and a dip manicure and it is legitimately my favorite dip mani I've ever had. I even changed the color of my manicure after a few nails and they were so accommodating. Can't wait to come back! read more

I was so excited to finally go to this salon due to the great reviews! Sadly my experience wasn't as good as expected. Everything felt so rushed and the manicurist didn't seem to understand what I wanted at all. At first glance, the pictures I attached look pretty, but upon closer look you can see how messy and rushed it was. On basically every finger, the polish was not cleaned up at all. I know that goes away in a couple days, but I get better work elsewhere where that doesn't happen and for a cheaper price. Second, it wasn't the color I wanted at all. I picked this pretty periwinkle blue to have them add a coat of chrome over to add that fun metallic sheen everyone is doing lately. Why add 3 coats of the pretty blue to then add two coats of heavy chrome powder to cover up the color entirely? If I wanted completely chrome/silver nails I would've asked for that... why even put three coats of blue under first then? Why not one coat of like white or silver? My nails just feel thick and sort of uneven now. Overall, I really liked the vibe of the spot and would give it a second chance, but I would be hopeful that it wouldn't feel so rushed and that maybe I can be more communicative when things don't go right. ***edited*** The owner Lee reached out to me immediately and rectified the situation. I never know if someone is having a bad day so I didn't want to call one person out yanno! She offered to have me come in again to personally redo my nails and they turned out beautiful! Love my monthly appointments here! Van always does a great job I just told her what color I was looking for this time in the dip and she showed me what it would look like before trying on my actual nail. My nails have consistently not chipped for 4 weeks my last several manicures. read more

It's alright... just a couple of small things that added up to giving this place three stars. Got a gel manicure and they ran out of the first color I chose, totally fine. I also broke two of my natural nails and they were very accommodating to add tips to my service last minute so I could keep the rest of my natural nails that I had worked on growing out! That was very nice of them. While the tech was trimming my cuticle and shaping my nails she clipped me while buffing because she was buffing too hard/not paying attention. She was very apologetic and felt bad so I just chalked it up to an honest mistake. Also she ran out of the gel clear top coat but instead of getting a new bottle, she kept scrapping this bottle to get all this old residual clear top coat to finish up my manicure. After getting home though I noticed that my nails were a little lumpy on some of my fingers. Will attach photos to see if you can see the lumpy coats of polish on some of my nails. My friend got ghost nails and another did a design and they were very cute and well done. Overall nice service /staff and pretty place, but I thought my nails were only all right after I left and quality seems like it depends on who you get! read more

This nail salon is incredible. It's incredibly relaxing, beautiful on the inside, and the staff is fantastic. My nail technician was very attentive, gave me a warm compress for my neck while I got a manicure, and served me hot tea. My manicure was quick, detail oriented, and came with a lovely arm and hand massage. I will definitely be going back! read more

Moved to Seattle a couple months ago and have been looking for a good nail salon. Finally found it after 2 terrible experiences elsewhere. The girl who did my nails was absolutely amazing. My new go-to salon! I came in after hearing about this salon from a friend. I got a regular mani & spa pedi. The price is worth every penny, once you see the quality, cleanliness, customer service and variety of colors available. They were pretty busy on the day I came in, so they sat me in the "party room" they have in the back. It was nice because it was quiet and peaceful, and I could actually relax. I was very happy with the pedicure and the nail paint job they did. I'll most certainly be making White Lotus Salon my salon of choice in the Seattle area! Can't wait to be back to get my nails soon! read more

After reading so many good reviews on Yelp, I decide to give White Lotus Salon a try. The owner helped me to take off my horrible nails and do the nails exactly what I want. I could see how careful and caring she is and I couldn't thanks enough. She recommend me to dot some silver on the hands for more catchy looks, I'm glad that she did. Many people compliment my nails that I have to write a review immediately. White Lotus Salon also very clean and the staffs are all friendly. It's actually my birthday yesterday, and this place gave me extra happiness (even though they don't know it was my birthday!). I really matter how people done their works and I'm 100% sure that you will leave this place with a smile! Highly recommend! The price is very reasonable specially in Seattle area. read more

I had an incredible first experience today. If you request an appointment through Yelp, the owner gets back to you almost immediately. I was able to get in the time and day I wanted. The atmosphere is beyond any nail salon I have personally ever been to and it's beautiful. Very calming music and lighting. First off, coming in there was someone to greet me immediately and by telling her my name she knew exactly what my appointment was for and told me the layout of how it would go. She was uber friendly and sweet. I got an eyebrow wax, a pedi, and a fill/full set with gel on top. The eyebrows are perfect, she didn't make them too thin and the arch is fabulous. The pedicure was incredible! Neck warmer offered, massage, and a very detailed job. I was then seated immediately for my full set and she was SO thorough! It's a beautiful job. This is my new go-to and I will recommend to everyone in Seattle area! read more

Totally worth the price! I have came here a few times now, I love how you can do both pedi and mani at the same time and you can sit at the chair to wait for the nail polish to dry out, they don't rush you at all. I have also down waxing a few times here, same good experience! The salon itself is very clean, spacious and nicely decorated, it's very relaxing here. I haven't tried the gel nail here, but I have a couple of friends did and their nails are perfect. If you sign up their reward program, they will regularly send you promotion texts as well. read more

Coming from the niece of a nail salon owner, I'm super picky with my acrylic sets and how they're done. I wandered in one day after hearing some of my friends rave about this spa, and since my own aunt's salon is closed for construction, I needed a new nail person. Helen and the owner (I forgot her name) are super sweet and they're so good! My last set from Helen lasted for over a month and I came back in for a fill with a very outgrown set, but none of them were even lifted (girls y'know how when your hair gets caught in between your acrylics and natural nails, yeah that didn't happen!). My manicurist spent ages shaping my acrylic tips and it was well worth it. I've never gotten so many compliments on a manicure. They've held up amazingly well, going on two weeks and while my grow out is horrendous, the manicure itself is still impeccable. read more

I so wanted to like this place! I went in and was super impressed with the decor and the ambiance-it's beautiful and clean and the staff was friendly. HOWEVER, I just spent $75 on the worst mani/pedi. I even splurged to get shellac which I never do. First of all, I picked out a color and halfway through my nails being done I noticed that it was a completely different color than I chose. Then, after *repeated* attempts at telling both nail techs that I wanted them to get "closer to my cuticle" so that my mani/pedi would actually last a week they both painted my nails with obvious space between the cuticle and the nail-my biggest issue with getting my nails done. I mean, if I'm going to spend an hour getting my nails done and spend a fortune, don't you think you could at least do me a solid by painting my nails down to the cuticle?! So irritated. Please, find yourself a cheaper/better salon. You can see in my reviews how there's A LOT of space between my nail (color) and the cuticle. Poor craftsmanship. If you paint nails, *paint all of the nail". Ok? read more

I scheduled a pretty last minute appointment (less than 24 hours!) for a full acrylic set and they turned out amazing! They've grown out after 2 weeks, but no chipping or anything! I showed a picture and they were so friendly and happy to accommodate! Will definitely be coming back! read more

This salon is amazing!!! When I came I was looking for someone to repair my nails as I went to another salon that day and they completely broke and ruined my nails. Helen and the owner were patient, understanding, and incredibly talented. They were able to completely fix my nails and make them beautiful and they followed the designs I showed. I was deciding between a multi color design and the one I got and Helen was able and confident in doing any of the designs I showed. I'm going back for life! Helens able to do any design on Pinterest and then better! I added in what the first salon did and how she changed them into the last picture! read more

I have been a loyal customer to White Lotus Salon for a few years now. I love the location and the salon is gorgeous. I always recommend it to my friends and bring my friends with me whenever we want to treat ourselves. Almost all of my appointments have been perfect 'depending' on the technician b/c yes I can be a little picky when it comes to my pedicure, who isn't? Today, I am sad to actually have to sit down and write this review. I booked 4 appointments a few days ago to celebrate my mother's birthday today. Only 3 of us were taken at our appointment time ON TIME, the other had to dip her feet into cold water for an hour waiting for her tech that never came on time. At this point, its been an hour into our 'appointments' and she is over it. She left with no pedicure which was ABSURD because we celebrating HER birthday. Not only that, but my sister's design wasn't anything CLOSE to what she asked for.. She showed a picture and asked the tech if it was possible to get an ombre with regular polish and she said yes. ALMOST AT THE END OF TREATMENT- the receptionist comes to my sister and tells her that she can't give her the design that she asked for. She left with nothing close to what she asked for. If its not something that can be done why not say so before promising you can offer it! It definitely looked like they were short staffed & I would have much rather been told that they couldn't take us if all of us weren't treated at the same appt time when I made the appt- I would've been happy to book it elsewhere! I am happy to say that I will take my business elsewhere. There was absolutely NO communication about when the fourth guest would be taken and the best part there was no remorse by the receptionist for this when we were paying! I feel RIPPED OFF not only because we weren't taken at the SAME TIME but my sister's design was awful and the birthday girl wasn't even treated. I just paid my bill (+ tipped) and will NEVER ever come back! p.s. yes the caps were absolutely necessary to get my point across. read more

I've been here twice and have had an above average experience both times. The first time, I got a simple shellac manicure. The tech cleaned my circles so well and was so gentle. The second time was today. I called around 11am to make an appointment. I was able to text photos of the design I wanted for reference and they were flexible to add a pedicure after when I texted to see if they had time. I got a full acrylic set, with gel and a lavender/gold design (pictured). Elina (I'm not sure I'm spelling that correctly), was very thorough and took her time which I appreciated. I wasn't in a hurry. I'll be back in two-three weeks when I need a fill and a new design! read more

I've tried this salon twice to give it the benefit of the doubt since I was not happy the first time. My first visit was for a gel manicure that had weird bubbles and chipped less than a week after I received it. Today I attempted to get a pedicure. The pedicure was rushed- around 15 minutes, if I'm generous. I asked several times for her to increase the water temperature. I arrived in my seat to an almost full warm bowl. The most she did for my request was add a little hot water. She barely buffed my feet and I still have callus'. I remarked at how quick my pedicure was as I started taking a look. She immediately started clocking out so I asked her about the callus'. Visibly annoyed and remarking loudly she attempted to charge me more to resolve the issue. A conversation with another employee didn't help either. I've heard good things about the Bothell location but that apparently doesn't extend to Ballard. Disappointing. read more

I've only been there once. I live in the neighborhood, so thought it would be really convenient. After one visit, I'm not going back. I had a 5:45 pm appt. for a gel fill and had to wait 45 min. to be seen. When I walked in, no one acknowledged me for 20 min. even though the staff saw me and made eye contact. Finally an older woman came over and told me "to pick a color." Then she just turned around and walked off. When I finally was seen half an hour later, the nail tech was very slow and did a poor job. She took an hour and a half to do my nails (should have taken an hour max) and used 3 coats (2 coats is standard). My nails look thick and plastic. Ugh. read more

I have been getting manicures here for awhile now. My usual is a French shellac manicure. But today, in honor of Blue Friday, I got a very special set! Sammy is always so amazing, patient and meticulous. I know there are places that cost less but you get what you pay for! I had a really good time here!! They did my nails really well and the design was very cute!! I'm definitely coming back! The atmosphere was calm and nice and everyone is extremely friendly. I wanted to like this place because of the great reviews and i love the Bothell location. This one was closer to home so i tried it out. First off, i got a gel pedicure and my two big toes were apparently not dry when i put my shoes and socks back on. I got home and they seemed smudged. I let them know and they said to come in and they will fix it for free. That same day, i got a dip powder full set with designs. At first glance, they were cool and i was happy. When i got home and looked at them, ive never been so unhappy and disappointed with a manicure ever. They look a week grown out, they left some of my old nail polish still on my na matte picked up everything and they were dirty, the spider webs were so poorly done, and then one broke the next day. They told me since i seemed happy when i left, they couldn't fix them. All they could do was fix the broken one and make them glossy instead of matte. When i went in, they fixed my broken one and the spider web looks different than the rest, she put the gloss top coat right over the matte and it separated and didn't cover my full nail. When my toes got fixed, i wore sandals and made sure to be careful, even though they were GEL. When i got home, they were smudged AGAIN in the same way. I'm almost thinking the polish is expired or their UV lamps do not work well. I will never ever be returning. **updated review** Three days later another nail broke when i touch the light switch to turn a light off. An hour later, as I'm pulling my pants up, a third broke. My husband and I went in for pedicures for Valentine's Day. The salon was very busy but we had an appointment. We waited about 10 minutes, which is fine. When we finally got to our seats, we were so excited to relax. My husbands nail technician was clearly rushing the whole process. She was rough with him and massaged him terribly and for a very short time. She didn't even say a word to him the whole time. My technician did well with the massage but didn't do the best with the polish. I was told to wait about 10 minutes and my nails would be dry enough to put shoes on. I waited 15 minutes, just to be sure, then put my shoes on and went on with our day. When I came home, all my nails were ruined! On top of it all, these basic and completely mediocre pedicures cost $35 each! Absolutely insane! I will never be returning which is sad since I use to be a regular before my baby was born. read more

I usually don't bother writing reviews, and almost always tip generously. This was the first time that I did not leave a tip! I went to my usual place Hava Nails which is fantastic, but forgot they are closed on Monday, so given that I had already parked my car I walked over to this place (I assumed they both have the same ratings, so quality should be comparable). Long story short, I wasted 1.5 hours and $40 on a pedicure today, and had to redo it myself when I got home. I usually trust data, but I don't think the ratings are accurate. She also recommended supplements to expedite the progress, so I'm thrilled to see the results in a few weeks. The spa is great, on the top floor in a quiet corner with tall windows. The decors and sound of water was so relaxing. Check-in staff was very friendly and offered tea/water. They're running a promotion right now: buy 3 manicures, get 1 free (def worth it IMO), so am looking forward to my next visit/check-up to get my nail health back to 100%.

I used to love this place when it was Hoa-however, my experience at the new White Lotus left me very disenchanted. We scheduled a 5:30 appointment and were made to wait in the reception area for 25 minutes (not an exaggeration) before we were escorted to the back room. We were seated & soaked our feet in the pedi spa for about 10 more minutes before our services actually began. I can't complain about the pedicures themselves - the technicians were friendly & did a great job. However, at the end we were left in the back room alone to wait for our nails to dry- my hubby by was left with oil all over his legs (being promised that his technician would return with a warm towel for rub down) and no one came back for us! I wiped down his greasy legs with my own towel and as we paid I mentioned to the girl up front that no one came back for us, my husband was left unfinished & that I wouldn't be back after she asked if I wanted to become a frequent member...she just said "ok" with a smile. I felt as though they couldn't care less B/c I was paying anyway. It was an over priced pedicure that took over an hour from start to finish. Understaffed. Over priced & obviously mid-managed. For many women, finding a nail salon to call your own is sort of like dating. I was hoping that WLS would be a match, but after two sessions, I am saddened to say that the search continues. I'll start with the good: Booking via text is nice, the reception gal is friendly enough, good selection of polish, nice massage chairs, good social media presence and a clean salon. The not-so-good: service is icy and rushed. People remember little more than how you make them feel and both times I came, I felt like an unwelcome visitor. They are courteous enough, but aren't hiding that they're looking forward to your departure so they can move on to the next customer. Look, I get that it's the nature of the business, but making it a little less obvious would go a long way. The rush has led to *several* bloody cuticle cuts from where my cuticles were crudely torn off versus cut, sloppy or lazy polish jobs and non-existent massages. These things independently don't necessarily make or break a salon, but when they consistently happen each time AND the prices are sky high to boot, there is little incentive to return. White Lotus Salon is going to be a no for me. :-/ read more

My daughter and I always have a wonderful experience at White Lotus Nail Salon! We go every three weeks and I started this traditional when she was young, and they were very accommodating. The atmosphere is so calming and relaxing, and the staff are all incredibly friendly and attentive. We always get a manicure and pedicure, and my nail technician does an amazing job - my nails have never looked better or been healthier! My wife and I came in here to get pedicures and we were pleasantly surprised of the cleanliness first and foremost. We had an appointment so we were promptly seated (well I was, wife was picking out a color). I have to say, the massaging was great, I could've fallen asleep and there was faint music in the background and no small talk. The woman giving me the service was professional and kind, I felt comfortable the entire time. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience. They skipped steps my friend (sitting right next to me) was getting, like brushing the tops of toes, and ignored my request to use the electric buffing tool for my dancer feet. I also explained I'm ticklish but harder scrubbing works better, yet the callus work was minimal because she barely touched the tool to my feet, and I had to ask her to do more but it was still so light, it did nothing...I later realized she left pieces of dead skin on the bottom of my feet. To top it off, my nails were left with textured and bumpy because she didn't use the electrical buffing tool but just a manual file, a request I reminded her when she was filing. At the end, when she asked me how I like it, I pointed out the texture on my toes, and she just stared back blankly. Between skipped steps, ignored requests, and lack of care, I'll be sticking to Capitol Hill from now on.
