Before my arrival, the General Manager emailed me because the credit card I had on file declined. Instead of calling, texting, or even leaving a voicemail, they only sent an email. I'm not someone who constantly checks my phone, so I didn't discover the issue until about two hours before arrival--only to find out my reservation had already been canceled. That was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. The only positive part of my stay was the night front desk associate, who was very friendly and helpful during check-in. As an IHG Platinum member, I received a room upgrade, but unfortunately the room was in terrible condition. It was outdated, worn down, and clearly in need of major renovations. Based on previous reviews, it appears the front desk staff also handles housekeeping duties, which may explain why cleanliness was lacking. The bathroom wasn't properly cleaned, and there were stains on the bed sheets near the nightstand. The hotel itself feels neglected. Even the television appeared to be from the early 2000s and had not been updated. To make matters worse, when I checked out and reviewed my receipt, I noticed an additional $11 charge. The front desk agent was new, so after waiting about 10 minutes, we compared my reservation confirmation with the hotel bill and discovered I had been charged for the room upgrade--even though I am an IHG Platinum member and upgrades should be complimentary when available. Overall, this was one of the worst IHG hotel experiences I've had. Between the poor communication, outdated rooms, cleanliness issues, and incorrect charges, I would not recommend staying here.

During our stay 1 of the beds was broken and we reported it to the front desk Saturday morning, before we left for the day. The front desk clerk advised us that she would have maintenance look into it and swap beds and also let the evening staff know. We returned in the evening time to check, and the broken bed was still in the room. We checked with the front desk, who was never made aware of the broken bed. At this point we were too tired to argue and went to bed. The next day when we were checking out we explained the issue again to the front desk. The clerk offered to take $20 off per night, which we agreed to. The $20 was never taken off. We called 5 times that first week leaving messages for the manager to call us back, but never heard a thing. Since that time we left multiple messages with no response. I even opened a complaint with IHG directly on 6/17. The hotel management has disregarded all attempts by IHG customer relations and has refused to call them back as well for the last 2 weeks. What should have been a simple discount/refund has now taken multiple hours out of my time with me having to follow up every couple of days with IHG. I would never recommend this hotel based on the simple fact of the complete and utter lack of customer respect and service.

After moving us to another room, he realized the box itself was broken. He didn't stop there, he made sure the TV and HDMI in the new room worked perfectly before he left. In this case, it's because this Super 8 is exceptionally bad. In fact, this has got to be one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. Upon checking in, I hurried to my room for a shower and some sleep. Nevertheless, my room did not come with any soap. I had to go all the way down to the front desk to bring back a single bar of soap. Once I brought the soap back to my room, I noticed that the shower curtain had what appeared to be a blood stain - absolutely gross! On top of that, this hotel is extremely stingy. For example, when I asked for more towels, the front desk attendant gave me just A SINGLE TOWEL. This has never happened to me before. In fact, the previous hotel I stayed in, a Days Inn (also a Wyndham property), gave me an entire stack of towels when I asked for more towels. Overall, I am done with the Wyndham brand. I've stayed in some pretty bad Wyndham properties, but this has got to be one of the worst!

The staff were shockingly rude--especially the woman with red hair in the cafeteria, who seemed irritated by the mere existence of guests, snapping at people like we were a burden rather than paying customers. And the room? Absolutely unbelievable--in the worst way. It was so dirty it felt like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. I had to drape sheets over the couches just to sit down without feeling gross, thanks to visible stains, what looked like layers of grime, and an alarming amount of dog hair--despite specifically booking a hypoallergenic room. The kitchen was practically useless, with barely any equipment to prepare even a simple meal, and to top it off, the coffee machine didn't even work. The bathroom sink was clogged and emitted a strong rotten egg smell that filled the room--it was impossible to ignore, even when trying to sleep. We're supposed to stay here for a few more days, but honestly, it feels like a nightmare I can't wake up from. I've never been so eager to check out of a place in my life.

Someone answered and said that they could. When I arrived later that day, Jeannette checked me in and gave me a great room on a higher floor with a great view of the Christina River. Jeannette later told me that she had replied to my text. Our room was perfect. It had everything that we requested starting with a king bed. The room had a small kitchen area. There was plenty of desk space and a small sofa with a computer desk. The bathroom was adequate. The view from the room was great. It was nice that we could see a high school rowing race one morning from our room. Breakfast is served downstairs. They had a pretty good offering of breakfast items. They had the usual items like scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. One of the mornings they served a smoked chicken for smoked chicken burritos. It was different and good. Along with these breakfast items, they also had coffee and juices. The gym is located on the first floor. They had sanitizing wipes to clean the machines before and after using the machines. A large screen tv was there for watching. Ellipticals and treadmills are available for you to use. It was enough for a good workout. The Homewood was a good hotel for me. Both my wife and I liked it. If in this area again, we would stay here again.
