The shop keeps growing to become an absolute asset to magicians at all levels of skill and interest. The Santa Paula location is under an hour from anyone living between the Magic Castle and Santa Barbara. Josh and James are each Magic Castle members and non-stop helpful with understanding your needs, answering questions and the like. I'll leave at that. This is just a review of the actual physical place. The shop has ample selection at all levels. You can go online like any other business but the thing about a magic shop is that you go there and you have a not only do you have a brick and mortar business but you have a flesh and blood human who able to listen. You can talk to her about your interest or you could talk about a specific trick that you want to learn. What I would like to point out about this brick and water place. Is that at the Santa Paula location they've expanded to now include a magic theater where if you even have an interest in only watching shows you can do that too. They've got some excellent seating and the makings of a versatile stage for close up or standup. Contact them to find out what performers will be appearing. So between the two of having a theater and a magic shop, which are side-by-side is a wonderful center for the Magic enthusiast. Then I'll just put this in for the hobbies and people that like to perform it that the shop has a group that meets periodically. In fact it has two groups one is for younger and one is for adults who have Magic as a hobby or some other interest. Each time people will get together for a few hours, go over some topical material.... might be a theme for the day. If you like magic, it's fun. OK, yelp is telling me I have to add something about value. One is since you were having someone help you select and work through your purchase, it does have value you made the right choice and you had someone help you in there to answer your questions which is something you cannot do in a virtual world and you cannot do online. So that gives a great value that you don't waste your money. Another aspect of value is the ability to go that day and pick it up. You don't have to wait for it. You don't have to wait for it. This is more than a magic shop! We came here to buy a gift for my 6 year old cousin, and the shop owner was super helpful in picking the right kit and even showed us a few of the tricks. There is a variety of items with varying price levels. The shop is in an unexpected little lot, but easy to find if you follow a map. They also do magic shows, improv, music and art lessons for kids (maybe for adults too?), murder mystery dinners, events, and there is also an escape room! We will definitely be back, there is so much going on in this magical place. read more

I love love love The White Rabbit Magic Shop! I used to perform magic when I was younger and then kind of just stopped (even though I would practice from time to time). Then by chance I found this shop and my love for magic was rekindled (cheesy I know). But seriously James/Josh are the best. You can tell how much they love what they do. Always eager to show the latest and greatest tricks. As much as I love ordering stuff online it's refreshing to have a brick and mortar location to actually see and feel the product. You like playing cards? Well they have the biggest collection of cards in the county! They've recently added an escape room which is awesome and I believe it's the hardest one here in the county as well. They are also adding a virtual escape room which from what I've seen so far is absolutely amazing. Sharing the space is The non profit side which is the House of Magic, they have a wide variety of classes and events going on. But I'll have to write a review for that place next. Overall this place has so much going for it and it's a shame that not too many people know about this gem hidden right here in Ventura. Go check this place out, go spend some money, you won't be disappointed! This shop is absolutely the best shop around!! I'm a practicing magician and they have all you need there. Joshua is very knowledgeable and always open to show you a trick or two. They try all their products and back them all up! Every month my wife and I come here for their monthly magic shows with magicians from the magic castle, it's an evening we look forward too. Been to 2 escape rooms here. imho it is more creative and imaginative than the ones in LA and in the valley. The proprietor is very nice. If you don't mind receiving hints these challenging escape rooms can be navigated successfully. He also performed 3 magic tricks which were mindboggling. you don't get that at other escape rooms. read more

This place is a hidden gem. It took me 15 minutes to find it the first time but it was worth it. They have a huge selection of tricks and a wall of I bicycle decks. Just a fantastic place! The magicians the run the shop are the best. The coolest kindest guys who really care about your experience there. They are ambassadors of magic. We showed up early for our escape room reservation. The crew provided about 20mins of free entertainment, the close up magic card tricks. The magician was really a performer who had a clean routine and provided unexpected entertainment that made out night. I can't recommend this place enough as it's clear these people care about their craft! Don't miss out on a fading art. My family and I just did the Houdini Escape room! Omg!!!!! So much freakin fun! Our 16 y/o and our 13 y/o enjoyed as much as my husband and I did too. At their age it's hard to find events or activities that will keep them engaged and or interested in, and this exceeded ALL OUR EXPECTATIONS. It was a closet full of emotions trying to make it out! Including humor, which made it all the better. The story line to the room was phenomenal. We are definitely fans of the paranormal, magic, sci-fi, all those wonderful aspects of the unknown. So we really appreciated all the thought that went into the story. The room was amazingly designed too. Makes you feel like you were in the story and not just a guest. I can't wait for them to expand and make other escape rooms! With how they did this one, what's to come will be awesome. I just know it! What a great place. This is a place that I would recommend to EVERYONE! I can't wait for more!! read more

White Rabbit Magic Shop is by far the best I've been to and I've been to a lot in California and Las Vegas and I love this one, they're very personal and helpful and joyful we come to this shop all the time for our needs even when we lived in LA..
