    Season S.

Found this great hobbies shop when I was looking for an RC car for my son. Met Don, owner, and he was very friendly and helpful. He took the time to recommend a great first car for my son and he loves it. My daughter pretty much took my RC car and Don helped her customize it to make it her own. Their prices are great and customer service is even better. Thank you!

The selection is fantastic, the shop is clean and well organized, and it actually feels like a space designed for players, not just transactions. You can tell immediately that this isn't just a store, it's a community hub. What really sets it apart is the people. The staff are knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely care about the players walking through the door. That's not something you can fake, and it shows in how the community shows up. Whether you're brand new to TCGs or deep in the hobby, you feel like you belong there. They also do a phenomenal job supporting events and keeping the scene active. On another occasion during the day & the lines were long", doesn't anyone work anymore!. Just yesterday I had a $45 order, all I had was a hundred on me, the cashier asked if I had something smaller, I did not, she called "V" over & she asked the same question, I said NO, sorry. She said I would end up with a bunch of $1's, I said no problem, she came back with like 50 $1's & some $5's - she told the cashier, the RULE is you have to use the $1's first. Well the cashier did not listen to her & gave me $5's. As I was walking out, I swear she went into a victory dance. (Not knowing I got $5's instead of $1's) I am contacting corporate - that was the final straw. Really "Rule", she sounded stupid, that's the RULE. Imagine a manger behaving that way.

I will say the music was pleasant, the selection okay, and the store was clean, but they need to understand that they're missing out on certain communities of people. The first, us Neuro Spicy brained people/autistics. Not a single sign whatsoever on what's where, what's down the aisle, nothing. It becomes very overwhelming and stressful. The second group of people? Any and all with a bad neck. Not having signage, forces us to look down each and every aisle before going in it, causing someone like me with a birth defect and cervical instability to become very dizzy. Yes, I could have asked for help, but I chose to familiarize myself with the store. Not realizing years and years since I've been in one, they still don't have any signs at the end of their aisles. Is it laziness? I have no idea, but as a highly creative in many areas, I'm done with Hobby Lobby. As an art store, GET CREATIVE, and put up some signs.

For years I wanted to dive into tabletop Warhammer, but I didn't have friends who played and I'm naturally a little shy in situations like that. It honestly took me a long time to finally walk through the door at the Thousand Oaks Games Workshop... and I'm so glad I did. The owner, Jordan, is truly one of the kindest and most welcoming people you'll meet. He clearly loves the hobby and genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great experience, whether you're brand new or a longtime player. The store itself is fantastic. They have dedicated demo stations where you can: * learn how to play the game * learn how to paint your first miniatures That alone makes getting started way less intimidating. The selection is excellent too, including a full range of Citadel paints. And if there's ever something they don't have in stock, there's an in-store ordering station where you can get exactly what you need directly from Games Workshop. They also have two large terrain tables set up for hobby meetups and games, and there's clearly a strong community forming around the shop. Honestly, this place is special. If you're on the fence about starting Warhammer like I was, just stop in and say hello. Jordan and the team will have you hooked in no time. Highly recommend!

Store ownership is generally extremely kind - Eric is a champ and the other employees are great as well. It runs a lot of events for mtg, 40k, AoS, D&D, etc. Really solid selection. Only downside is some of the MTG regulars. As you'd expect, most game stores attract a certain demographic of people that often have superiority complexes within their hobby, so you end up with lots of the older guys being condescending, rude, arrogant, and generally unlikable about their children's card games at events like Friday Night Magic (such as community all-star Jeff H). Also a lot of them smell really bad, it's becoming a serious issue at larger events. The 40K community is fantastic, though and so is the D&D and other misc games. Great store, highly recommend.

Something fun and special. They walked into this shop, and the man working there immediately barked at my daughter that she wasn't allowed in without shoes. To be clear, she had just come from Sky Zone Thousand Oaks and was still wearing her gripper socks, with her shoes literally in her hand. So yes, totally fair rule--but the delivery was unnecessary. Instead of just kindly asking her to put her shoes on, he was abrupt and harsh enough that she looked like she was about to cry. That was enough for them--they turned around and left without buying anything. It's a shame, because places like this should be encouraging kids to enjoy the hobby, not making them feel unwelcome over something that could have been handled in two seconds with a little kindness. We'll be taking our business somewhere that actually makes the experience fun.
