We recently visited White Springs Winery on our first visit to the Fingerlakes. Upon arrival we were the only people in the winery and were very impressed with the COVID safety precautions they had in place. We paid for a wine tasting along with a beer tasting and were then directed to the bar where we would choose our selections. The number of different choices we had for beers and wines was wonderful. After we made our choices we were escorted out to the patio where we could sit and overlook the lake. All the samples we had were delicious and the view was nice and relaxing. We would highly recommend this location for a visit if you are in the area and looking for place with delicious drinks and a great view. read more

They have a food truck outside. Not sure if they have one all of the time. They assumed I was there for beer. It's $5 for 5 tastings. They have beer from different local brewers in the area. We got both wine and beer. The beers that I had were good. Probably my downfall of wine tastings. Do not mix alcohol beer and wine specially if your name is mine. Dionne was incredible. This was one of my favorite wineries on our tour. This was our second stop of the day. They just opened and were not busy at all and everyone was super nice, talkative, and knowledgeable. They helped us take our wines outside to enjoy and I just felt so welcomed. Beautiful seating inside and out and the view was nice as well. Wines were very tasty too. I bought 4 different wines. Which is very good for me. They had a large selection and something for everyone. I would love to come back. read more

My group and I almost missed this winery on our recent trek around during the Deck the Halls 2016 event weekend in November... if only because it doesn't look like much from the outside or tend to really grab your attention. Upon walking in, we were pleasantly greeted by a woman who checked us in and gave us our ornament (something you collect when visiting different wineries during the DtH event). The winery is nice and spacious, with two different tasting bars closer to the back of the room. The view from the patio would be delightful on a nicer day. Unfortunately, it was raining and the temperature was dropping at the time of our visit. The staff is helpful and welcoming... but the wines themselves were a bit mostly-miss or outright miss for me. The selection of dry wines seems to be limited, and the couple sweeter, white wines that I sampled didn't really seem to have much nuance to them. I ended up buying the "Mull it Over" wine for some enjoyment during the Christmas holiday season, figuring warming it up in the crockpot and having it accessible during a get together with either family or friends would be an interesting touch. TL;DR Service-minded staff, spacious tasting area, and enjoyable views. Wines are really impressive, but it all depends on preference anyway. read more

White Spring Winery was one of my favorite wineries on my Finger Lakes trip! Definitely the best tasting deal! They also had beer flights as well! They have a really nice outdoor patio that overlooks the lake. The view is absolutely stunning! This winery tasting room is very spacious, overlooking Seneca lake on the main parkway. When you first walk in, there is a store, with random wine accessories, shirts, etc. When you walk towards the back there are two sets of luxurious tasting bars. Tastings were $5 for 5 wines. You could try the dry wine list, or the sweets. The sweet wines you can skim through and mark the ones with a white board marker that you are interested in tasting, after reading their detailed descriptions. The drys are more limited, but a lot tastier. The view is gorgeous, and they have a patio for big groups to enjoy. They also have beers in the back for the non-wine lovers too. read more

White Springs - what a great place! I'm so glad I tried it. If it weren't for the lady at Belhurst running out of weekday passes, my boyfriend and I would never have tried this winery. It's 100% worth a visit, they really have some amazing wines to taste and it's right by Belhurst Castle (it seems they work together, which is great!). Tastings are $4 to try any variety of 6 wines they have. They are part of the weekday passport which allows visitors with the pass to get a free tasting. My favorite wine was Serendipity - it's a white wine which offers such a surprising journey for your palate. I had to get a bottle to bring home! Another favorite is the Mull it Over! Kind of like a winter spiced cider in wine form. You can drink it room temperature, but you can also heat it and it really is great for keeping warm on a wintry day. I will start by saying I understand all of the restrictions having to do with COVID. I am a firm believer in being safe. That said, White Springs Winery in no way has a LOGICAL way of running their business during COVID. Let me paint the picture. My fiancé and I we're driving around Seneca Lake doing wine tastings. When we arrived, we were greeted by a young man with an unkempt beard who seemed less than enthused to be there. He asked us where we were from, and when we told him, he told us that due to the owner's discretion, we weren't able to be served wine because of the county we lived in, Chemung. I would have been ok with that. That's cool. No business from Chemung County residents at all. No worries... BUT after stating he can't serve us wine, he offered for us to stay and browse their gift shop. Is that serious? They are choosing to not serve people from certain counties, but will allow them to stay inside and shop in their gift shop?! The fact that they'll refuse me a wine tasting, but allow me to roam the gift shop is a terrible business model for a winery. read more

White Springs took our large group of 35 on a Monday afternoon around 3:15, which I have been told is quite late in the day for a tasting so for that I am appreciative. With that being said, every single person in our large group was treated like we were a nuisance, just hear to chug wine and get on the way. The woman who was doing our "tasting" if could even call it that, rushed through the entire process as if we were a huge bother and her lack of consideration for us was so palpable I ended up looking up from my glass at the others in the group to see if they were as appalled as I was. First things first, when I entered, I was approached by the woman I had been speaking to on the phone about arranging the visit and she was a sweetheart and definitely happy to have us. (She was not the woman doing our wine tasting.) She told me that I had to go around and take a count of who wanted wine and who wanted beer and that was a pain in the rear let me tell you. We had 35 people with us and they were scattered about. They wanted to get going with the tastings and here I am walking around with a little piece of paper making tallies. After doing the dirty work I had to approach the register, pay the amount and then go back around the room and disperse tickets. It took up at least 20 minutes and there could have been a much more efficient way of operating. Anyways, the majority of us chose wine so we arranged ourselves around the bar and the woman went around with either a dry or sweet option. She did not offer ANY explanation of what she was pouring. She did not discuss ANY tasting notes, she hardly knew what she was pouring us. It was dry or sweet and getting us out and moving to our next location and that was all she cared about. She was impatient and not open to having questions asked and it really put a damper on the experience. I should have gone the beer route for this place because after our 30 second wine tasting I headed into the beer area and those who chose to do a beer tasting seemed to be enjoying themselves. A few of us decided to get a glass and mingle after the very brief and rushed tasting. I half enjoyed one of the dry reds so I got a glass of that. I think that we were perceived as kids and that really really bothers me. We are all adults, we are all of legal drinking age and we are all responsible professionals. I find it insulting that we were not given the time and attention that we paid for. It was disappointing and for me, someone who loves wines, loves learning about the wine making process, I left with no knowledge of this winery or anything about their process or history so I will likely not be back. read more

We have been there a few times and we believed this winery was nice and worthy of return trips. However the last time we went there a couple of weeks ago, we presented a coupon for a free tasting that we cut out from a tourism pamphlet. When we presented the coupon, the person behind the bar rudely said she did not recognize the coupon and just about accused my wife and I of presenting a fake coupon, which it was not! I was planning a girls getaway for 7 of us. I emailed about reservations and was very unhappy that it took nearly 10 email exchanges and a laundry list of things that they needed to know before we got there. I then had to fill out a contract and send it back or my reservation would be cancelled. I was so annoyed with the process that we nearly didn't visit their winery. We showed up about an hour early and asked if we could get in, which he was very accommodating. There was no one in there. I then asked if we could use one of the tasting fees toward a purchase as one of our girls went home early. He said no. At least he let my friend try beer and wine then and we didn't lose the fee completely, he wasn't too happy about it though. The woman that did my wine tastings was not knowledgeable or helpful AT ALL and I couldn't even hear her. I asked several times for her to speak up. All I could smell was smoke, it was disgusting. My friends enjoyed the beer quite a bit so all was not lost. All in all, we won't be revisiting this winery on our annual wine trips. read more

Lacks class and elegance in all categories. I've never experienced disorganized wine tasting with poor customer service like this. Fun enough because I brought a large party with me. I think my expectations are too high to expect the type of service I receive in Napa Valley. Still, I prefer feeling taken care of and paid attention to. A great spot to taste and buy IF you're on a budget, which I'm not. The pourers weren't particularly great with people and I don't like hearing an employee complain about customers to another employee. And they shouldn't talk about when they get to go home as part of my wine tasting experience. I don't care when you go home. If you're open for another hour - which u were - you're good. My wife and I were visiting eight wineries on the northern end of Seneca Lake. This winery we visited on the second day. We loved this place. All the white wines that we tasted were excellent. We ended up buying five bottles of wine of all different types here. We also bought their five glass holder to display our wine glasses. We will be back next year. read more

My mom and I did a self-guided wine tour around Seneca Lake. I just researched the different wineries and chose several that looked good and we went from there. We aren't wine experts to any degree. We recently started visiting local wineries and thought a trip to the Finger Lakes would be fun. White Springs was our second stop. The tasting room is very open and the wines are organized in a very user-friendly fashion. We were able to get samples of the wines we were interested in at no charge, but I left a tip at the bar. We had our dog with us and he was greeted very warmly and offered treats. Service was friendly, and the wines were good, but for some reason I wasn't overly impressed. read more

We arrived at White Springs Winery last Sunday afternoon around 4pm The service was awful. We did a $5 wine tasting. Our server (Bill B. - name on my receipt) was rude and did not pay any attention to us. He couldn't keep track of what wines we had tasted. He seemed like he was in a hurry to leave. We visited several other wineries on Seneca Lake and never felt as unwelcome as we did here. I did not buy any wine at White Springs for these reasons. Wines tasted like $5 table wine. One of the employees was extremely rude - refused to acknowledge us as we waited for our tasting -- and there was only one other couple there. My boyfriend and I stopped here while following the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. It was a Sunday afternoon and it is located across the street from the lake, up on a small hill. It was a smaller venue but had a nice gift shop with many gift items. We were greeted by a friendly man at the bar who asked if we would like to do some tasting. We got 5 tastings for 5$, which is pretty standard. The wine we tried we all good, however many of them were very sweet, which isn't a problem if you are a fan of sweet wine. We then took a full glass outside to listen to the love music going on. All in all it was a nice experience and we would stop by again if we were in the area. read more
