I have a NXR gas range with convection that I bought from Costco when remodeling my kitchen about 5 years ago. The convection has never worked since purchased but thinking it was not knowing how to use it, I never realized it was a seized motor from the beginning when it was new. The reason for the back story is how long I have been without the NXR convection not working so the warranty no longer applies; to all the horror stories or people who have same problem as mine; to not being able to find a authorized repair service provider who will work on them and being put on hold over an hour when trying to find one; worrying that my floor would get damaged when they pull the stove out ( it looks very heavy besides custom fit between cabinets). I felt I made a bad decision in choosing this brand which is mechanical non electronic range rather than name brand where it is easy to find repair people when you have a problem. Well.......as of today I feel totally different. Yelp helped me connect with White Van Appliance repair. Art from White Van has restored everything back to me that I thought was bad and it has turned to good. I checked Yelp first and got three responses. White Van was quick in response where some of other repair companies sounded reluctant to service my oven as it isn't name brand. Costco sells it so we think it is good, right. Right! Art from White Van scheduled appointment with me the very next day which was Monday 8/17. He arrived on time, was polite, professional, and very attentive to the problem at hand. He gave me great confidence that there would be no problem fixing my oven after he confirmed the convection motor was seized. We agreed on his ordering part and coming back when it was shipped. It is Sunday 8/23, only 6 days later, he called 7:00am left message that convection motor arrived, and to see if we were available for him to stop by to install part for us. I didn't see message until 8:30 but texted him back good to come at 9:00. He arrived promptly at 9:00, had it fixed by 9:30am!!!!! It is working perfectly. In talking to him, I realized how glad I am that I bought an NXR oven range. It is one of the few appliances that are still mechanical and not electronic. Electronics are highly sensitive and can be more expensive to fix if they fail. My NXR has simple functions that are easier and less expensive to fix. This wouldn't have occurred to me until talking to Art as he inspected and discussed the functions of my oven/range. He was very patient and knowledgable if I had questions on this particular range. The NXR doesn't have self cleaning oven which I expressed regret not having. But now hearing that it can be one of many things that go out on the high end/multifuntion ovens from other manufacturers, I changed my mind. This was a lesson I learned after my Whirlpool washer had so many issues and failed after only 2 years of owning it. I switched my constantly breaking Whirlpool washer to a mechanical style Speed Queen and haven't had a problem since. To each his own, as for me, I am finally thankful to have bought an NXR range. I want to encourage anyone out there that has an NXR, you want to call Art if you need help and that you did buy a good unit. I wouldn't have felt this way before and was so discouraged. Now I feel so different. Art is proficient and knowledgable about appliances and isn't afraid of any job, I am really happy with my NXR now. My 8 year old favorite Samsung washer that I had since we purchased our home started to die a slow death a couple of months back. It started with not wringing out all the water out of the clothes then started making noise when spinning then on its last few days it would barely spin the drum. Two gas fireplaces failed to start so set up an appointment. Was explained over the phone that the first fireplace was (approximately) $89.00 and the second one (approximately) $65.00. Service tech took about 15 seconds to get the first fireplace going with little or no effort, even admitting he didn't do anything. Second fireplace took longer and working after getting the pilot light lit. He did caution that the nozzles looked worn and wasn't sure if what he did, it continually work. Total cost was $300 or $150 each unit, which I paid. Within hours, second fireplace would not light so the next day or two I called again for a repair. When he again lit the unit, he explained again that it may need more work including replacement parts that would cost another $450. I then complained that the original quote over the phone was far less than the $300 charge to which he explained that it included a safety check. I was in the room for the first unit repair and saw no safety check, just some jiggling of the valve and it was working. Tech said he would have the office reduce the charge which we have yet to see. Second unit still does not work and so called again, spoke to the office who said he would have the tech call me. Has been 6 days and no call back. They got two stars for an initial prompt response and getting one unit working but no more based on failure to respond and overcharging. read more

This company is great I called them on Sunday with a refrigerator issue and they said they couldn't come out until Monday so I decided to go with someone else who could come on Sunday. That was a mistake I just didn't have a good feeling about him. He said we need a new water sensor cause our water wouldn't come out of the door anymore. So he said he would call on Monday with the estimate to replace it. He gave me a receipt with a phone # and said I could call them anytime. So at noon on Monday called the # and it was disconnected. Finally got hold of the company and they quoted me something outrageous and I told them never mind. I then called White Van Appliance and they sent Vlad out. What a difference. He was wonderful and told us everything that needed to be done. He explained everything to us and everything will get fixed tomorrow. I thought I'd never get anyone out to repair my broken dryer on a holiday weekend without a big premium if at all. White Van Appliance staff picked up my call and sent someone out within a day. Vlad came out and was friendly, professional and efficient in diagnosing and repairing the dryer. He even cleaned out the insides of the dryer as a courtesy which was a big job (he showed me photos of the internal lint build up) and which makes me feel a lot safer that there is not some lurking fire hazard. Don't use this company. They tried to repair my outdoor fireplace. They charged me over $700.00. It worked for about 5 weeks. It took about 3 weeks before they came out. He seemed to force all the fittings. It worked when we tested it every two weeks for about two months. Now it does not work at all. When I tried to get them to complete their work, their website was down and they phone number was disconnected. They are trying to tell citicards that they only guarantee their work for 90 days. Can you imagine any company that would repair a gas operated appliance, charge over $700.00 and only guarantee the work for 90 days, especially when he told me they guarantee their work for one (1) year. And of course, I was very back-logged with laundry. I spoke to Art, the owner, who was very friendly. He sent a technician (Ted) out in less than an hour, who worked diligently for 2 hours to test everything and diagnose the problem (the drain pump assembly system was shot). I am beyond amazed with the quality of service and professionalism that we received. I called them at 4pm on Tuesday, and they were able to have a technician come out to our house the following morning to take a look at our gas fireplace.
