This place is great. It's a small KOA, but also quiet. Very well shaded. The owner/manager was friendly and helpful.

The General Manager reached out personally after my initial review to apologize and issue a credit. I really appreciate him taking ownership and making things right; that level of follow-up goes a long way. That said, rates still feel steep for what's offered. I get that West Glacier is high-demand, but charging $4 a wash and $3 a dry on top of a $1,200+ site fee feels like nickel-and-diming. Good management, but definitely overpriced for the amenities.

They have everything, it's organized, and there is practically no limit to the amount of great features here at west Glacier KOA. First off, they have a great high class restaurant right on the premises, they serve breakfast 7 days a week and dinner 5 days a week, including steaks and good stuff. Yes it's pricey, everything is 3 miles from the west glacier entrance, but this really is a one stop shop. Also the trailer spots have a table, 6 chairs, an umbrella, and a huge concrete slab to enjoy. Plus TWO dump station choices on each side of the spot. It's super nice to have that slab. They also had a gas grill! We used it plenty. Around 4 pm all guests get a text message from the staff with the evenings offerings. Here's the last one I got: Hey Campers! We've got an exciting evening lined up for you: 5:00 PM - Dinner is served at the Café 5:30 PM - Join us for some creative fun at the Activities Tent 7:00-8:00 PM - Birds of Prey Presentation: meet amazing birds, falcons, and owls in the Activities Tent 7:00-9:00 PM - Enjoy live music by Mike Boucher in the Bear Garden Plus, don't miss out--Scoops will be serving up tasty ice cream treats all evening long! And the ice cream shop is amazing too! The only thing the place could improve I think is the store. They could have more grocery items and less souvenirs. And the only other thing is they don't let kids in the hot tub. There were two pools? One was for families and the other was for "adults", and that one had a hot tub. Having young kids prevented me from using the hot tub at all. Our family met us there from out of state, and they got the cheapest cabin, and beware that those least expensive cabins come without a bathroom inside! But overall this place is whole and complete and is perfect for families! Also there's TONS of fun activities near the campground. Not just GNP for going in but there's tons of other activities within 10 miles. And using the app to get going to the sun tickets isn't too bad. We tried and both me and my family member got tickets in the group we wanted. You just have to be online at exactly 7pm on the recreation.gov app.

Electric pedestal where we were at had turned off with 120v once but never again after they cycled the breaker OFF then ON. Previous reviews about intermittant 30A service may have been in ERROR. There were multiple times 30A service shut power completely on and off - randomly in the trailer. It wasn't due to the trailer's 55A power converter since mobile RV tech over phone said it would not cause complete power failure, don't bother replacing it. I tracked down a 15A fuse in the panel that would cut power off and on when pressed on when others wouldn't do anything. Replaced 15A fuse and all seems to be well. Still doesn't explain why the 120v outlet on pedestal was wonky. They have recycling for plastic, paper, aluminum cardboard but it is at top of hill and not at other garbage disposal area. Recommend paying more for premium or super premium site to get better site conditions and ameneties. That isn't a knock on this KOA, just personal experience. 4 out of 5 star ratings.

The table was crooked and on an angle making it for uncomfortable seating. It is right next to an airport and sometimes the planes are very noisy upon takeoff or landing, but did not detract from our visit. The gift shop was standard. They did have a lot of T-shirts and clothing to select from but the food area could've been improved with more selection. It was a great place to watch the Fourth of July fireworks. They also have a very nice outdoor seating area just outside of the souvenir shop --registration office where there is a beautiful view of the lake however, the motorcoach park that is just below us had preferable seating, and a closed event which limited us to Not enjoying that area for a few hours on the Fourth of July

It was very level for parking, has a fire ring and picnic table (all the tables in the park are in good condition & freshly painted). Some sites are not as level, but they accommodate a wide range of RV & tent campers. The Sunflower Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in the outside dining area or to go. We had the beef brisket one night and a breakfast sandwich one morning. Both meals were delicious. Although we are in Montana and were expecting to see a lot of pro-GOP/anti-Dem flags & attitudes, we were pleasantly surprised to see none! Our camping neighbors were a nice gay married couple who were super friendly. Liberals, gays and other progressive people would be very comfortable here, as would those not-so-woke. Price-wise they are cheaper than the nearby KOA and are a great option for those who don't camp in the park. We paid $302 (with AAA discount) for 4 nights.

The reception team was so good and efficient when you arrive to ask you about your reservation and then to point you do your campsite location. We stayed in one of the cabins over towards the south edge. It had two bunkbeds and a queen size mattress in it. It was very enjoyable and the mattress was pretty comfortable, a solid 7.5 out of 10 for mattress comfort. The room add a refrigerator that worked great, as well as a microwave that we did not need to use. The biggest highlight was that they deliver pizza to your location if you order it in advance and are ready and able to wait for 30 minutes. To have a Campground deliver pizza to your site was a real treat after a long day in glacier national Park. So we sat on the cabin porch swing and enjoyed our really well-made great quality pizza. After our pizza we took advantage of a very clean laundry facility and is super well-maintained showers area. The laundry room was clean and well-kept. And the bathrooms and showers were well-maintained and didn't have that traditional muddy floor that you sometime experience in other campsites. In the morning we were able to use their small market to be able to buy some postcards, Gatorade, and other items to take into the park with us. The special shout out goes to "Steve from Amarillo Texas" one of the 2023 season camp post. Super great at making you feel at home and welcomed to the campsite. He was fun, knowledgeable of the park happenings, and generous with this time to make sure each guest knew where to go, and what they needed. I'd give this campground a solid 10 out of 10. I specifically chose this campground and paid a premium rate in large part because of the advertised pool, hot tub, and sauna. During our entire stay, the hot tub was out of order, the sauna was out of order, and the pool heater was not working, leaving the pool extremely cold at approximately 70°F. We reported the problems to the onsite office staff, and maintenance personnel checked the equipment and confirmed that repairs could not be completed immediately and would require outside service. I understand that equipment can fail unexpectedly. What I found unacceptable was the way management handled the matter afterward. I called the campground twice and was told messages would be left for the manager. I then sent multiple emails requesting a reasonable partial refund, not a full refund, because we did receive the campsite and hookups. Despite those efforts, management did not respond. Only after a few weeks passed and I contacted KOA corporate and KOA forwarded my complaint to the campground did management finally reply. They acknowledged that the hot tub, sauna, and pool heater were unavailable during our stay, but still denied any partial refund because the campsite and hookups were provided. That response misses the point. We paid a premium price for a campground offering amenities that were an important part of why we selected this location. Had we known those amenities would all be unavailable, we would have stayed at a considerably less expensive campground nearby. Mechanical problems happen. Good customer service is demonstrated by how a business responds when they do. In this case, I was especially disappointed that it took repeated phone calls, multiple emails, and ultimately intervention from KOA corporate just to receive a response from campground management. Based on our experience with the unavailable amenities and the way management handled a reasonable customer concern, I would have difficulty recommending this campground at its premium pricing.

1-star Review for Spruce Park on the River, Kalispell, MT and here is why:…read more I booked this RV park based on the photos and Google reviews, thinking it would be a great spot right on the river while I was driving 2-days from another state. I had no idea what to expect, so I trusted the online reputation. Unfortunately, this experience was incredibly disappointing and frustrating from the moment I arrived. I made my reservation early in the day and spoke to someone on the phone who told me I could stop by the office when I got there to finalize check-in and get my welcome packet. At no point did anyone mention that absolutely no check-in is allowed after 9 PM. I also received an email and completed mobile check-in, which made it even more confusing -- I had my site number and everything paid for, so I assumed I was good to go. I arrived just after 9 PM. The office hours on the door said they were open until 9, and the email clearly stated that packets for late arrivals would be left outside. There was no packet. I called the "24-hour number," and the woman who answered was shockingly rude. She told me, bluntly, "We don't allow check-ins after 9," and when I explained that no one had told me this and I'd already paid, she basically said, "I don't know what to tell you," refused to help, and hung up on me. I had just driven two long days, and all I wanted was the shower code -- which she also refused to give me. To make things worse, the site I booked (in the G lot) was impossible to get into with my fifth wheel. So even if I had been allowed to check in, I couldn't have parked there anyway. Overall, I spent $140 on a spot I couldn't access, got no help from staff, and was treated incredibly rudely. If you're planning to stay here, make sure you understand every single rule ahead of time -- because if there's any issue, don't expect kindness or support from the staff. I would not recommend this place and will not be returning.

The campground advertises high-speed Wi-Fi, but it was essentially unusable at my site. Because I work remotely, I had to rely entirely on my own Starlink connection. If dependable internet is important to you, I would not count on the campground's Wi-Fi. The shared facilities were another major disappointment. There is only one shared bathroom/shower combination and two washers and two dryers serving a very large campground. The bathroom was frequently dirty or not fully stocked. It wasn't uncommon to find wet toilet paper on the floor, hair throughout the bathroom, or to have to wait because someone was using the shower. For the prices being charged, I expected the facilities to be cleaned and maintained much more frequently. I also found the owner to be rude and unnecessarily critical during my stay, which made the experience less welcoming. Additionally, there is no camp store or convenience shop on site for basic supplies. The location is convenient for exploring the Flathead Valley, and the full-hookup sites are a plus. However, between the unreliable Wi-Fi, limited and poorly maintained facilities, and the customer service I experienced, I don't feel the campground offers good value for the rates charged, especially during peak holiday periods.

The sites at the top of loop C offer an open field perfect for sunset watching or stargazing, but do not provide as much privacy. When planning your stay, be sure to note the shower locations. We were on the opposite end of the loop, and running to the showers in the brisk morning air was not a favorable option. Additionally, the visitors center is a little bit of a walk, but provides a shuttle to Logan Pass via "Going to the Sun Road". This was a great option for us, as our RV was not able to drive the road due to vehicle size restrictions. I would recommend the shuttle as it runs pretty frequently and parking can be scarce at the popular overlooks and trail heads. Overall, we enjoyed this campsite and look forward to coming back here!
