I can't speak to their work but the initial impression was not good. We were in escrow on a mobile home and my daughter called to see about getting estimates for several projects that we would be needing to complete as soon as escrow was complete. Instead of responding to her, the business called our realtor to say they don't do business like that. I called Kevin Whitehurst to give advice and estimate to level my business partner's new mobile home. He showed up promptly on Saturday morning. As we walked around the mobile home, he asked a series of questions which seemed unnecessary to determine the price of leveling the home. The questions became odder and much less related to the project. He wanted to know if either of us snores or if we sleep together. He needed to know who sleeps where. He seems to have assumed that we were a couple and that our personal habits were somehow just business. I told him he was being rude and he insisted that he was not. He threw a small fit and said he was declining to quote. I find it sad and worrisome that this man does business in senior mobile home parks and uses these tactics to manipulate and bully people that may not feel comfortable standing up to him. My husband & I bought our first manufactured home here in Oceanside a few months ago. the home had been completely neglected for more than 30 years! So we started our search for someone to do all the many repairs that were needed. We called several companies & got several establishments. I called them this am and asked for a quote on replacing awning posts and he said he was unable to help if I needed the work right away but he could do asap, but then he told me that he was in North County, and I am in East County so he gave me really good information and also recommended a place closer to me to call to get some help. So glad that we found Kevin Whitehurst when we purchased an older mobile home in San Marcos. We had agreed to handle the issues on the property inspection in order to have a quick escrow. Kevin really knows mobile issues. We decided to do a new roof rather a seal and he and his crew did a fabulous job. They were neat, showed up on time and the new roof is great! He also re-leveled the unit. He went through a list of minor items and fixed several no charge. He made great recommendation on where to replace the storage shed which was deteriorating. This guy, Kevin might have the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I've never left a yelp review for any company, good or bad, but this guy was so lame I'm making an exception. After several unreturned calls over several days (while they are claiming a 3 hour response time on yelp) I finally got through and knew within 1 minute of talking to the guy that this is a company I would never want to work with. Maybe the guy was having a bad day, because it was pure comedy haw lame he was. To make matters worse, I think he's the owner. Won't go into the details cause it's not worth my time, but do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. Wish they had zero stars. read more

I've had Kevin and his team put a new roof on my mobile as well as performing a "leveling". He promptly responded to my request for a bid and was able to perform both jobs with outstanding service. When they were done there was no cleanup for me to do, and I'm VERY picky. Next I'm having them install a moisture barrier! I would give WHITEHURST an absolutely great recommendation. I first met Kevin when I was actually driving through the mobile home park that my sister was just closing escrow on a home last fall. He was working on a mobilehome at the time, and his work looked amazing. We chatted and we made an appointment right then for him to see my sister's home which needed a lot of work. He gave my sister and I realistic timelines of completion, cost sheets and plenty of his time and helpful ideas too. He not only hit the marks and finished an outstanding job, but made her very first house a real home that she is immensely proud of today. Such a great experience having Whitehurst Mobile Home Specialist level my mobile home and do added repairs as needed. Kevin was wonderful with answering any questions I had (as this is my first mobile home living experience). What I loved most was when he said he would be there at a certain time and date, HE WAS! Contractors are notorious for not showing up, let alone being on time. The job was done with expertise and experience. Received a prompt response to email inquiry and mentioned a room addition with other reoairs. Kevin insisted on coming that morning. Upon his arrival I offered to walk him thru my mobile to show him things I'd like done . He interrupted and said let's start with the room addition. He determined in a snarky fashion it was not feasible. I showed him other things I wanted done and he quoted high prices and disinterest followed with "it's not worth my time just for .. & it's really expensive. " While his website makes it appear like they can do alot of things , he spent more time talking about what he doesn't do. It was obvious he didn't want any job and thought I couldn't afford it. I just closed an oceanfront property in San Clemente and was ready to fix up my house. I feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman walking out with all the shopping bags past the snotty clerk who wouldn't help her before and she says BIG MISTAKE!! read more

I called to inquire about some home improvement project I was going to do and spoke with the owner Kevin. He explained to me that he was getting out of that particular part of work due to the fact it wasn't cost effective for him to do the work .So I asked him if he could refer someone else and he just laughed at me and hung up. I thought it was a very unprofessional response. The project I inquired about was to install arched columns for my carport.
