First off, yeah, they know lots of folks are going to want alcohol, and I think half of the aisle endcaps displayed something alcoholic. While they had a lot of classic and domestic products, they do offer a decent amount of local beer, wine, and pre-mixed cocktails (even though the Untappd app said the local beer I was looking for wasn't sold anywhere in a 25 mile radius, Island Foods had it!). We came the week of Pony Penning, and the store makes a couple dozen cakes (see picture) to celebrate the occasion. The produce aisle is small, but they have enough that you could get a decent variety of fruits and vegetables for your stay. There's a pretty decent selection of meats here. I don't remember seeing too much non-frozen seafood, but I imagine it's hard to compete with the fresh catch with specialty fish markets on the island. I was pleasantly surprised to find several Gardein products, which meant vegetarian Child #1 could have some imitation meats and seafood if he wanted a protein similar to what the rest of his omnivorous family would get. Things are pricey. Inflation's here to stay and it's a touristy beach town. Considering that, it's not too bad. The folks at the register were very friendly. Whatever foodstuffs you're looking for, it's a good bet that Island Foods has it.

There was also clothes, souvenirs, cute cups, crystals, bracelets, and stuffed animals. It was a kids and adults Dreamland!! The town is very laid back and country, so this was one of the larger stores in the area. The vibe was cool and the staff were friendly!! They let us try a few ice cream flavors also. I had a pleasant time taking photos with the cartoon characters and just feeling like a kid again!! The nostalgia was real!! I'm really enjoying this little island and would certainly recommend it to anyone who wants a nice hometown kinda feel and a relaxing getaway. Although you'd think there isn't much to do if you think outside of the box it's just enough to fill up your day. If your a foodie there are a good amount of places to eat at. They have a few bicycles, but some are in rough shape. The breakfast was light but delicious. There is plenty of free public parking behind the inn. So park behind them and walk through the back to the front door. The staff is friendly and did a good job cleaning the room and serving. I did not try dinner, but it was packed; I don't know if that indicates quality. But all the tables were full. For the price compared to the other hotels, it's a good choice for a couple. I'm sure you could have kids, but there is nothing on the grounds to keep them entertained. And because of that, if you stay there, you don't get the noise from screaming kids or the frat boys getting wasted next door. It's an excellent option for an overnight stay.

We came here on a rainy weekday as an adventure and the kids had a blast. The whole front of the store has big tubs of bulk candy, and you can fill up your bag with whatever kinds you want for a bulk price (less than $7). Get a bag from the front and a scoop from the counter. Gummies, sour candy, chocolate, gum, old school candy, salt water taffy...so much to choose from! They also have several counters of specialty chocolates like nonpareils and truffles and fudge and chocolate covered pretzels. There is toy-based candy too, like yo-yos filled with candy, dinosaur spinners with candy, stuffed animals you can fill with bulk candy, etc. And so many toys! Any kind of stuffed pony you can imagine, as well as Ty stuffed toys, purses, all the squishy toys, etc. They have tshirts, hats, sweatshirts, onesies, etc. And a selection of other gifts like jewelry and goat milk soaps/lotions, slippers, etc. We easily spent an hour there looking at everything then as the kids filled their bags.
