DO NOT GO HERE!!! Poorly ran, the older man & lady do not care for their customers. I brought a shirt in, they said they'd clean up the stain. I picked it up and the stain was still there. The older man tried to give me an analogy of "that's how life is, for example, if you get surgery, it's not guaranteed!" We own a local business and are not looking for anything free. But when you pay for dry cleaning & stain removal and spend over $100+, you'd expect a little better customer service. Unreal. Trust me, use tide cleaners, or anyone else. I see tide cleaners picks up at your house & drops off. I may try them. But don't go here just because it's convenient. 0 Stars!!!! read more

This is truly a small business and one well worth our support. Only two people run the shop and they are both helpful and efficient. Clothing comes back on time and nicely done. They also do bedding and shoe repair. Highly recommended! read more

STAY AWAY! For convenience, I gave this cleaners a try , I wish I had read the reviews first. Not only did they burn a hole in my slacks, they proceed to clean them and then charge me for cleaning something "they" ruined. When I brought it to their attention, the man working there was rude, dismissive, and insisted I brought it in like that - I did not. This was an expensive lesson in Read the Reviews first. I hope I can save someone the displeasure of dealing with this establishment and especially the man that works there/ owns this place. read more

I spend close to $100 per week on dry cleaning. When white sands shrunk and puckered a beautiful French blouse, I assumed I would be reimbursed. The owner first tried to iron it again, but I was unable to get the sleeves on or button it. His answer was that he was having it stretched. He then proceeded to go ballistic and dance and scream at me. He has had other problems with our clothes and linens which I have let slide. He is clearly disturbed and customers should be aware. read more

This might be the worst dry cleaners I've ever been to...and I'm not young. I brought in a pair of off white pants with a coffee stain on the thigh and got them back with burn marks all over them. They offered to redo them and they came back in even worse condition. Denny was loud and obnoxious and yelled at me that in 28 years he's never made things dirtier and called me a LIER. He threw $14. at me as a refund for the cleaning but they were Derek Lam pants worth $300. He's RUDE and a terrible terrible TERRIBLE business man. Run, don't walk, to any other dry cleaner no matter how far you need to drive. read more

My wife has been a customer at White Sands Cleaners on Longboat Key for over 3 years. She routinely recently brought in a suit for cleaning; it came back missing a hook. The proprietor (I am being overly polite here, much more than he deserves,) promised to have it repaired, They did not do this. My wife then politely said it was OK, she will take it to her dressmaker's. The owner then- the only way to describe it- went berserk, yelled at her that he was giving her a "good deal," that she was to get out, he did not want her as a customer, that he knew she would be "trouble," and that HE DID "NOT WANT HER KIND IN THERE" again. As Jewish patrons, we will leave it to the reader of this review to interpret this statement as they wish. We certainly would not set foot in there again, and hope none else does, so they can avoid this type of rude, crude, behavior. read more

I have never left a single yelp review. I used this place when visiting my family on Long Boat Key. The dry cleaning itself was fine. The owner was off-the-rails rude and unhinged. If you can go anywhere else, do it. It's not worth the convenience. He screamed at a family member that he didn't "want our kind around here" and threw her out. She had been using the place for three years without any incident until this week. I don't know if he meant Jew or what, but suffice it to say we aren't going back. read more

I thought that customer service is so important and long boat key residents try to support local businesses but this owner doesn't understand customer service is very important. DO NOT USE THIS ESTABLISHMENT ! I am a full time resident on Longboat Key. Went to this dry cleaners as I needed a few items for a trip in 2 days time. They assured me my clothes would be ready. On stopping by at 2:00 to pick them up on my way to the airport, there was a sign on the door that they would be gone until 3:00. I could not wait as I would miss my flight. Upon return from my trip, I explained this situation to the man behind the counter, I received no apology, and no compensation for my troubles. He was rude, inconsiderate and belligerent. read more

I highly recommend NOT to use White Sands Cleaners. Upon requesting a blouse to be redone because it still had stains on it and wasn't pressed properly. The gray bearded gentleman, who I believe is the owner, totally lost it!! He was so rude and out of control I took the blouse back and will gladly have it doe elsewhere. read more
