I took my daughter here because I thought it was going to be a great experience for my daughter but I was totally wrong. When it was her first day I saw children hitting and kicking each other and I talked to the teacher who was "watching" the children, and she told me that it was ok because that's how they express themselves. In my opinion that is not ok and they should not allow hitting at all. My daughter was so sweet, she never ever use to hit or take toys away. Now she acts like she's being bullied and she takes toys away and acts the same way as the other children do and she thinks it's ok to hit. Whenever I took her she would latch on to me and use to cry so much and would act scared. She only lasted 3 weeks until I took her out. I am currently enrolling her into another care facility. I do not recommend this place. read more

I have the utmost appreciation and admiration for the Kindercare Whittier staff. My eldest daughter has been coming here for 7 years starting at age 10 weeks old. I only have had positive and pleasant experiences at this center because the staff are truly devoted to all the kids and their development and wellbeing. Even during this pandemic time, the staff is vigilant in maintaining a safe and a sanitary place and putting the kids' health first. School age students and teachers are required to wear a mask. Temperature checks are done upon entrance and parents are given up to date information. They've impressively made distance learning a smooth and worry free transition for the kids and parents. I have so much gratitude for Miss Cole who is always two steps ahead of the game and is always reaching out to the school district and schools to make sure that the center has current information and following the school's guidance. Distance learning has been challenging for every parent, but the staff has created a great learning environment for the children. I get regular updates from the staff and they make sure all the kids' personal and learning goals are met. They've sent photos throughout the day sharing my kids' fun, cute activities. I recently asked for assistance in improving my daughter's reading skills and Miss Cole exceeded my expectation by creating a fun sight word bingo game for my daughter and the students. I like the fact that they've created a fun collaborative environment for the kids and are determined to make sure every student succeeds. So my daughter has been enrolled for a couple months now.... and now I feel like I can give a good review, I've had 1 incident that was handled immediately. I have to say marycruz is an amazing person, she always goes out of her way to make me feel comfortable. Especially because she understands that I'm "that" mom. I appreciate her always going above and beyond to try and make sure I'm comfortable and happy. I also want to say brandy and the young lady that works almost every morning are AMAZING as well. Every morning I drop my child off the teacher is always there with a smile, she actually addresses my concerns to the people she needs to, so when I call in they actually know what is going on. It's amazing to call in to address something and the staff who answer know EXACTLY what I'm talking about, makes me feel comfortable with them taking care of my child. Best place in Whittier. I couldn't be more greatful that I found kinder care. Its been 4 months since my 3yr. old started. I have noticed a HUGE improvements in his social and language skills. On week one of him going he was already coming home with new words. It took him about 3 weeks to fully get comfortable with me leaving him,given he is only going 3x a week. He would cry but the awesome Director Maricruz would send me pictures through out the day showing me he was adapting well. That put my heart and mind 100% at ease. His teacher Ms.Grace, is sweetest most patient, graceful soul I've met. She is wonderful with my son and all the toddlers. My son loves her and ask for her when he doesn't go to school and that makes my heart so happy. Kinder Care has great people working there, Ms.Nicole does an awesome job with all the seasonal decorations. She is always happy and helpful with any questions. Kinder Care is truly exceptional. So happy my son is learning everyday, he is comfortable and all smiles all the time he gets to go. It's well worth my money, only wished I would have started him sooner. read more

Let me just say that the only reason my children are not in this school anymore is for financial reasons. My son asked me if he could come back. I am very paranoid about where my children go when I am not with them. However with three kids needing childcare....it got really expensive. I love all the teachers and kids there. Maricruz was always amazing and i wish we could've stayed. Ms. Cole was also wonderful and became great friends with all 3 of my children! This is going to be a long one because when I was looking for a daycare, I wanted an in depth real review. I'm a First Time Mom and finding a daycare for your child is daunting. I read all the blogs and knew what was important to me and my family. We've been with KinderCare Whittier for almost 4 months now. Here's my honest overview: 1. Facility Safety - very important to us. I like that there are multiple layers of security there. key code gate access, children are not right in front and you pass the director's office, etc. This allows for some piece of mind. Also when we went for our tour, they took a copy of our DL. It's refreshing to know that they take security seriously. Of course if we could take our kiddo to Fort Knox, that'd be best. 2. Child safety - we interviewed and asked about discipline procedures and redirection is practiced and follows what we teach at home. Being in a classroom with such a spread in development due to different ages, my daughter has been very well cared for. No scratches or bruises or misc injuries. Once she did take a tumble when she was learning to stand and I was called right away, the teacher made sure to review the incident with me as soon as I picked up. I appreciated the quick response and realize this could happen anywhere. 3. Classroom Safety/Cleanliness - We had a very extensive tour because I literally asked every question on every check list and anything else I could think of. Other places wash toys ONCE a week if that. They wash daily, have strict standards on crib bedding, practice safe sleep, and keep up the classroom very well. There's the usual snacks on the floor during snack time, but everything is always tidy when it should be. I will say the facility has been there a long time, and honestly needs a little TLC Renno. I did mention this and the assistant director laid out a general rehab plan which was nice to know things are being addressed. 4. Education - even though my daughter is very young, I loved that there is an age appropriate curriculum geared toward engaging my daughter. I liked that this is a corporation that lays out the curriculum for each age and then the locations get to tailor for each child. I've shown up unannounced at different times of the day, even when she's not there (we attend part-time) to drop off paperwork or to bring treats for the teachers and every time the children are being engaged and cared for. And the staff all have credentials which is nice, in my daughter's classroom, they have infant units which is above and beyond because that's what matters. 5. Outdoor access - it was important that our daughter get some fresh air during the day and not have to be cooped up inside. I love that for her age group there is a separate fenced in play yard with canopy. Obvi pending weather, they go on buggy rides which is a fav of my daughter. 6. Personal Touch - The first few days were hard, more for me than for my daughter. I LOVED that I was sent photos of her throughout the day without being asked by the center directors. I can text or call in and ask for pic if I'm missing her. I love that they put out a calendar for the month with activities and fun things for the kids to participate in, for all ages. It feels like a community not a business transaction. After our initial tour, I saw another parent picking up and asked if I could chat with them for a bit about her experiences and she'd been attending for about a year. She was happy and I asked if she could go to another daycare would she, she said no, she loved the teachers and her children loved the teachers. This was nice to get an on the spot answer. Overall, I am happy we are with KinderCare Whittier. The teachers and staff are genuine and show care for my daughter. I wish the building was brand new but it works. I'd recommend to friends and family. I'm happy to say we bring our daughter here. I'd tell anyone, take a tour, do your homework and make the best decision for you and your family. My happy social funny baby girl is not the same as the first day we brought her here, she has grown. She engages in playing games, initiates play, recognizes songs and corresponding hand movements and plays and is happier, more social, and funnier! read more

So I just enrolled my daughter to the discovery preschool class I have to say I have my doubts reading the reviews I have really high hopes for this daycare. She gets really excited to be going into class until we go into the classrooms then she just stars crying because she knows I'm leaving. I have been taking my 18 month old daughter here for about 3 months. My daughter really enjoys going to "school" as we call it with all her friends. The staff at kindercare are all caring and friendly twords my daughter and make her feel as though they are excited to see her everyday. The staff has always been kind and respectful to me and make feel comfortable leaving my pride and joy there. When i pick her up everyday she is a mess but a mess in the best of ways i know she has had a fun day of learning and trying new things. My daughter has thrived in this program, i have taken her to other daycares but this program has by far been the best. I think some of these reviews are a bit unfair and i would hope any parent who's interested in enrolling their child would go to the facility and meet the staff before making any judgment. I'm a single mom of two beautiful girls and nothing is more important to me then their safety and happiness. I can go to work with piece of mind that my baby is having a fun safe day. read more

I'm looking for a preschool for my 2 year old and visited KinderCare. The 1st thing that hit me was the odd smell than emanated the children's area and how run-down everything looked (a coat of paint could go a long way there). The next thing was the staff's appearance: poor grooming/presentation, tired-looking and appeared to be unable to 'keep up' with the kids. I didn't see anything that made KinderCare different or more 'challenging' than other preschools. read more

I just enrolled my daughter into kindercare and I really do love this place. The staff is great and my daughter has really warmed up to them. They really care about my child and their is never a time that I don't get a hi or smile. Always warm and ask how my child is doing every morning and they have activities that my daughter enjoys as well. I would recommend kindercare in whitter to anyone looking for daycare. Even on the first day I dropped my daughter off the director sent me a picture of my daughter and that made me feel better. An if anybody knows my child she will not go to just anybody. The staff takes care of the kids 100% and I've popped up at the daycare to check. So if you are looking, this is the place for your child or children for childcare!!!! I had a wonderful encounter during my boys Spring Break period. The Director Maricruz was very professional and explained everything in detail. My boys enjoyed the time spent at this school. My daughter has been going here since she was 2-1/2 and now she is 8. The education that my daughter received from Kindercare is priceless. She learned how to read by the age of 3-1/2. The Kindercare program totally prepared my daughter for school. She is excelling in school and is far above the other kids in her classes. I credit this all to Kindercare. Kindercare in Whittier has taken a hit because all the old staff left and a new staff came in and ran the facility down. Thank God Madi Cruz from the old staff is now the director and she brought back most of the old staff and the facility has improved 100%. The negative reviews this place has received based off of the dates are during the staff that ran the facility down. Even I was not happy during that time. Now that Madi Cruz is back and most of the old staff being back this place is thriving again. They do so much for the kids it's totally worth the price to me. I feel that my daughter is very safe at this facility. The only con that I have is that people continue to park in the handicap parking when they are not handicap. That's not cool. I highly recommend Whittier Kindercare now that Madi Cruz is the director!!!!! One more thing Madi Cruz has done a lot of upgrades to the facility. It looks great! read more

My daughter started in November, and she has had a great time here. She has excel so much, with in the first week she started writing her name, and her numbers. And now is starting to read. She loves coming to school great staff, always making sure the kids are happy and learning new things. She never wants to leave, and can't wait to come again read more

I have a newborn baby, so finding the best school possible was very important. From the moment I contacted kindercare I was excited to view the school I was told to come anytime or I can make an appointment which is always a great sign. I made an appointment but than realized that would not work for me so I dropped in and asked to view the school. I was welcomed with open arms and shown the school and the class my baby would be attending. I was impressed and since attending I had nothing less than the best care ever, within a day they already knew my babies schedule and were excited to see him come in each day! The teachers have a great working relationship and appear to know each one of the children's personality. Each staff member from director to teacher are always friendly and welcoming, never knew how great of a feeing that is to start your morning with so many "good mornings"and even offered coffee when I replied "I'm a bit tired". I love that when I drop him off I know I can feel like he is at his second home. read more
