One thing that really impressed me was how well equipped their truck was. They had both a ramp and lift gate setup, which made it much easier to move everything from my second-floor apartment, through the alley, and onto the truck. They cleared out my entire two-bedroom apartment in less than an hour and a half, and then emptied my garage in less than 30 minutes. Everything arrived at my new home safe and sound, and they had everything unloaded in under two hours. I also really appreciated their honesty. Once they realized how straightforward the unloading would be, they reduced the crew from three movers to two, which lowered the amount I had to pay when closing out the job. That kind of consideration really stood out to me. I ended up paying about $1,000 plus a tip, and I was genuinely happy to do so. Moving is stressful enough as it is, and Mathis Moving took a huge amount of that stress off my shoulders. However, I'm rating them a three because unlike most moving companies I encountered, they did not include wrapping. Normally when you have a mirror or any furniture with screws, they wrap your items or put your screws in a baggy. In this place, I was told that would be extra for each item wrapped and they did not put my screws in a bag. This was the first time I heard of something like this. They also told me to put some items in my car because they couldn't do it. For example, my computer items, such as my screens. That was very odd. The movers were just doing there job so I can't say they were doing anything wrong. I will say, my bed frame feels wobbly so something is off there. In my opinion, I should have just hired someone from Facebook if I would have know I wasn't going to get a full on professional mover experience. I paid 238 cash or so for 2 hours. I think the price was the most competitive but the service was not what I expected.

Thank you again!! I do not recommend this business! I moved from California to Oregon, so I chose to utilize their full packing service in addition to the 1,000 mile journey to my new home. The team of five arrived promptly and took about six hours to pack everything inside and load it into their truck. My husband thought to put a tracker in one of his items and this is where the confusion and lack of communication began. We never got a straight answer on this given the singular phone call in two weeks, but from what we saw on the tracker our stuff made 5-10 stops across Los Angeles and San Francisco during the week that we had assumed they would be driving. Our best guess is that they were unloading and reloading everything into a bigger truck to accommodate more items (and more $$). They packed us on July 26th and I gave my first available delivery date as August 2nd. After the initial contact on the move out day, I didn't hear a single word from them until August 4th after trying desperately to get ahold of anyone at the company. Does anyone actually work here? I only ever received emails from "Jim," but he would stop responding as soon as I asked for a phone call. I feel you would have happier customers if you OVER communicated, given that you have most of their worldly possessions. On top of the complete lack of customer service, the team packed our household items terribly. Nothing is labeled, items from rooms in a bunch of different boxes, several items broken or lost or wrapped up in a shoddy fashion - which is making unpacking an absolute nightmare. The company also just hires random local people to unpack the truck (two men and one older woman- peculiar choice), so while they were helpful they had no idea what each item was. Since we were all totally clueless, it took double the time to unwrap/unbox every single thing. We were moved in on August 8th; the sixth day. I'm now realizing they do this on purpose with their "7 day guarantee," so take that into account if booking. I would urge you to look elsewhere, as Pure Movers was not worth the enormous $15k price tag for me.
