I've moved several times in LA and hired different movers, by far, Max K and his team - Robert and Paul - were the best. Living in LA, there are a lot of colorful options for moving. (Angelenos you know what I mean.) However, many of these movers don't really know what they're doing. They scratch furniture, breaks chairs, and you worry about them getting injured, etc. After being in a recent car accident, and with all my frequent headaches,I didn't want to try to save a couple hundred dollars hiring cheap movers so I went with Pure Movers and I have no regrets. MAX S. was clearly someone who was a PROFESSIONAL -- COMPETENT, PROMPT, EFFICIENT. He was BOSS and his team did a fantastic job. I am spending a ton of time writing this review because I want to make clear the kind of experience I had. Here's the list of things that impressed me: 0) Note: It was 100 degrees on the day of the move, but you wouldn't have known it seeing these guys work. - - - 1) So I made a mistake and scheduled the wrong day for the movers to come. (Yes, DUMB but let's blame it on the concussion.) When I called in total panic mode sitting in my living room full of boxes, the guy at Pure Moving Company who picked up the phone didn't even sweat it or chastise me. The guy immediately told me that he will try to get together a team and said he would call me back in 20 mins. He called back in 10 and told me movers will be over within the next 1.5 hrs. This was 10 AM on a Sunday morning. How is this not impressive? 2) Max called me within an hour to tell me he will be arriving in 40 mins. Even though customer service gave me an approximate arrival time it was good to know the exact time they were arriving, so I could leave the house & grab some much needed coffee w/out worrying that the movers showing up. Max got to my place in 30 mins. (So true to what the guy who first picked up my phone said -- within 1.5 hours I had movers in my place.) 3) Max and his team didn't just rush up to my apt and start packing. Max first came up and surveyed all my things. He told me how long they would take. He explained they might need one more mover. (I had hired two guys.) If the two of them worked it might take 5-6 hours, but if I got one more guy it would be cheaper and they could get the work done in 4 hrs. So I said, yes, go ahead and get the other guy. It took an hour for the other guy to come but they didn't charge me (for the three-person team) for the first hour. 4) Max immediately got to work after he surveyed all my stuff and we agreed on the terms. He had me note the time they started the actual move. 5) They treated all my belongings with respect, not like "shit" they had to move. 6) They didn't just plop down my stuff anywhere in the new home. They made sure to ask for directions if there was any uncertainty, but not in an annoying, abrasive way. 7) Within 4 hours everything in my old apartment was moved to my new place. (I had about 20 boxes, three huge bookcases, a queen bed, a sectional, a tv stand, a glass coffee table, a dining room table, desk and a herman miller chair, three lamps, 20 shoe boxes -- Basically, a lot of stuff for one person.) 8) Max, Paul and Robert made sure I didn't have to lift a finger. They moved every tiny little thing. Even when I was trying to "help" them, they made sure I didn't have to do anything. (And they didn't know about my injuries - this is just how they work.) 9) If there was any doubt about the furniture being damaged, Max made sure to check with me and explain what was going on and very quickly and efficiently took apart the furniture (e.g. my dining room table and coffee table.) Then at my new place, he put the furniture together even better than it was assembled in the first place. (He had a very elaborate tool box to serve this purpose.) 10) If there was any previous damage on the furniture he would show me the marks and make sure I knew. (This causes less problems after the move.) 11) My sister and I put out some Gatorade and water. They didn't just take the water (even though it was clearly for them) but asked both at the old place and my new place if they could take the water I put out for them. (i.e.) super courteous 12) At the end, he pulled out a calculator and crunched numbers with me, so I knew exactly how much I was paying for what. - - - The SMOOTHEST part about my entire (very stressful) move was Pure Moving Company. I will be moving in another year, and I will most definitely call these guys again. You will not regret. PS) If I were very honest, there is a small part of me that wonders if the job could have been done in the same time w/ just two people (my stuff was already packed) but given that I had scheduled the wrong date, owned a ton of things, and the level of courtesy and professionalism the movers showed -- I don't regret the $500+ that I dropped. I highly recommend Pure Moving Co. From booking my appointment and getting a quote to finishing the entire moving process, I knew I was in great hands. (They are consistently friendly on the phone, too!) The prices are more than fair and they make moving a breeze. Konstantin, Vasili, Nik and Oleg were the most professional, skilled, friendly and efficient movers that I've ever worked with. THANK YOU. The team was punctual and ready to go at 9:30 am. I watched them meticulously wrap all of my furniture and delicate objects with their moving plastic - which is included for free in the moving cost. If there were additional objects that I wanted wrapped, they would happily and respectfully oblige. Konstantin, who seemed like the team leader on this move, went out of his way to let me know what would be the most cost-effective and safest way to move certain objects (ie. use the plastic, as opposed to having to pay for extra boxes, etc). This level of consideration is above and beyond and I really appreciated it. I was moving out of a two bedroom, two floor apartment with narrow and low stairs and I watched the movers work as a team and problem-solve throughout the entire process. For example, they would efficiently assess a piece of furniture and then come up with the path of least resistance. At one point, they decided that moving the bed box out the back, upstairs patio would be easiest (as opposed to the well-trodden, albeit low front stairs) and doing this would ensure the furniture wouldn't get damaged. ... And... Of course, they were right. Very impressive. Never once did they express any complaints or dissatisfaction with the amount of boxes and work involved. They were good-natured through it all, even when they had to empty two giant planters filled with dirt and figure out what to do with the dirt. (Sorry, guys, and thank you.) (Side note - the last movers I used carelessly crammed furniture through the low, narrow front stairway and caused paint damage to my furniture. So the careful work of Pure Moving was such a relief!) On top of all this, I realized that I'd forgotten my Yelp $50 coupon and called back a couple days after my move. Gary graciously said he'd put a check in the mail. The one thing that had been bumming me out was that it had taken the movers 45 min to get to my storage facility, whereas it had taken me about 10-15 minutes. This was not Pure Moving Co's fault - they can't be responsible for traffic and I should have encouraged them to follow me, since I know the route best. However disappointed I may have been, I was willing to take responsibility for it, swallow the extra cost and chalk it up to experience. In the end, Gary looked into it and refunded me for that extra 30 min of driving time! He mentioned that it was important to him that everything be fair. It kept the entire move within the quote that I'd been initially offered, which was already an incredibly competitive price. This was COMPLETELY appreciated makes me a loyal Pure customer forever. In summary: Hire them for your next move. You won't regret it. They are professional, friendly, great at their jobs and fair. Very possibly the best moving company in town! -- PS. Personal moving notes (not sure if this is helpful, but including for future reference to those in the throes of moving-land): - I learned *after my move* that my new all-natural latex queen mattress can definitely be folded for easy moving. However, after talking to a couple mattress specialists, I was advised that it should not be kept folded up for more than a week or so, or it could cause damage to the mattress. My stuff is staying in storage for 6-12 months, so unfortunately, this meant that I had to go back to storage and rescue my mattress myself. This wasn't fun, since I lack the brute strength of these movers and the mattress was in the waaay back of the storage room. :-) - In the future, I might request an additional plastic wrapping layer of certain objects/furniture that are of higher value, like my mattress. The plastic they provide is thick moving plastic and usually does the trick, but things inevitably rub against one another during the move and occasionally the plastic gets torn here or there. This meant there were a couple small dirt stains on my otherwise new mattress. Not a big deal. But the moral of the story is this: If something is of high value to you, you can trust that these movers will take good care of it. Yet, it's okay to occasionally ask for extra TLC on certain objects, within reason. (Just know you're paying for the extra time when you ask for TLC!) Happy moving, everyone! read more

Ok so this was my first time having to hire movers and I must have read numerous Yelp reviews on different companies. When I found Pure Move I thought all of the positive reviews couldn't be true and some how they were paid reviews (I am a professional blogger so I know the game). I emailed the company and a rep, Frank, responded in about 1 hour. He answered all of my questions and was very polite. I think I may have emailed him about 6 times before I went to their website to book the appointment a month in advance. Most of my questions had to do with price. I learned that it would be cheaper to move during the week, Mon-Thurs, and to pay cash. My hourly rate was $79 cash. I had a tight budget for this move and I knew I couldn't go over $500. I was moving a 1 bedroom apartment, ground floor, into a 2 bedroom house about 10 miles away. Also keep in mind that they neighborhood was rough, there was construction down the street preparing for the new football stadium in Inglewood. I am disabled and moving boxes would hurt the 3 herniated discs in my back. So I emailed Frank again to check to see what my options were, and again Frank responded in less than an hour. I knew that packing would take me days to complete and I was down to the wire the week before moving. Only half my apartment had been packed, everything was a mess. I didn't opt for the packing kit because of my budget and Frank was nice enough to adjust my request again for me back to the $79 an hour quote. I explained this was my 1st time hiring a company and I was disabled, Frank was more than patient with me. About 45 minutes before my scheduled move 9am-10am on a Thursday I got a call from Vladmir who explained that he was on his way. He said he would be there at 9:30am but he arrived at 9:50am. He asked me about parking, metered or not, and I told him it would be best to park in the alley because their truck is so large. I was greeted by Vladmir and Shayne and they got started right away. They moved 1 bed, already disassembled, Fridge, Stove, card table, 1 day bed with dressers that they took apart, about 20 boxes, a recliner, a rocking chair, 2 desks, a dresser, washer and dryer, and some plastic rolling dressers. They either taped the items or wrapped them in plastic. I was running back and forth loading my car as well (mostly my paintings and family photos). There was only one issue. I arrived at the apartment about 3 hours before they did so that I could clean the fridge and stove. Somehow a piece of my stove got caught in the sink and I couldn't get it out. So my stove and fridge was dirty and I was so embarrassed, however I told Vladmir and he actually drilled into the object stuck in my sink and got it out for me!!! THANK YOU! I arrived at the new house and they arrived 30 minutes after me because they said their was construction. They did call to inform me of this issues as I waited. Loading up the new house I was able to just direct them on where to place items. The assembled both beds for me, took the dryer to the rear house and loaded the washing machine into the tough shed outside for me. They finished in under 5 hours and my grand total was $335, which I paid $340. I did forget that I purchased the Yelp coupon but that's ok. I was under my $500 budget and nothing was broken. I am so happy I found Pure Moving on Yelp and all of the 5 star reviews are well deserved. read more

First off, Moving Sucks.... So why not make it as easy on yourself as possible.... I made some calls to get some quotes for a Thursday move on June 11th 2015. Pure Moving Company is who I decided to go with for moving the bigger things in the house. (A 4 bedroom, 2400 sq ft, 2 story home) I have to say they are excellent, the absolute best moving company I have worked with so far. Now we can get into details. Everyone was extremely polite, called the front office for a quote and their weekday pricing was by far the best deal I found by far with the dozen or so places I called, (plus add that to their excellent yelp rating) I felt it was a no brainer to me. I told them that I would like to try and book a move on Thursday and they set me up with an appointment with an estimator. This was new to me, it took a little time out of my day, but it was a nice touch. They sent someone over on Tuesday, I don't remember his name (Dan or Dave)..... extremely tall, thought he was going to hit his hit on some of my doorways. He did a quick walk through, marking things down on his notepad as we went. Keep in mind, the estimate is based on everything that he see's in the house, even if you're planning on moving a few things yourself. After he's done he tells me that he will email me a quote later on that day or early next morning and if I was ok with the quote I could book something. Well, this is two days before my planned move so I get a little worried because I thought I had booked something already. I called the office and they said no problem, just follow the link in the quote and and book it for Thursday. The quote showed up at 5.55pm, he didn't leave my place until after close to 3pm... wow that was quick, now that's why I call service. The estimate was for 8-10 hours, 4 man team. I followed the link and filled out a simple form and got a confirmation email the next morning. Move Team Showed up just before 9. A 4 man team consisting of: Vadim Max K. Oleg N. Danila We went through the paperwork and was on the clock at 9am. I can't have enough great things to say about these guys. What an excellent team, they started moving things, everything was packed up super nice, I filled up just about every inch of that truck but they got more things in there then I was even expecting. Everyone on the team was nice and very thorough. After getting packed up they said they we're going to take a quick lunch break and meet me over there. Thought that would give me some time to take a quick shower and meet them at the drop off location, but they literally showed up about 5 min after I got there, they did a lot of set up and asked where everything was going to go, like a finely tuned assembly line. I even took them to a second location to drop off some things for storage. They finished everything faster then the quoted estimate and they charge for every quarter hour. An All-Star Team, thanks for all the hard work guys. Needless to say I highly recommend them Pure Moving Company. Everyone on that I worked with was extremely pleasant and on point attached with some very cool accents. I also noticed they have some giants working there and can easily field a basketball team. Hopefully I won't be doing this moving thing again anytime soon, but If I do Pure Moving will be the first people I call. Thanks again guys and to everyone involved in helping me. Pretty good experience overall with very few issues on a moderate-sized move (2000 ft.², three bedroom house). First of all, the team leaders Daniel and Alex were phenomenal. Strictly business, ruthlessly efficient, commanding their teams through an organized and disciplined process. They were both amicable, but did not waste time with meandering conversation - I like that. Day one was strictly packing. They ran through each room as we notified them what needs to be packed and what needs to be left and they did a very thorough job wrapping anything fragile. I've seen complaints that they "waste too much time" or "use too many packing materials" but truth be told with a move of this size they need to be careful because there are so many objects that can break and I'm sure that the same people complaining about the "waste" will be the first ones to complain when things break, so it is understandable. It also makes a ton of sense when you see the way that they wrap everything, including furniture. Again, it's all in the name of efficiency and it helps them fit Items in the truck. The kitchen took the bulk of time because each item needed to be individually wrapped; otherwise, they were clear about when they took breaks and did not charge me for the time. I was very impressed with this process. Day two was the actual move. Again, they operated like a machine; every person seem to have their role and there was not much wasted movement or time and they finished in less time than they estimated, and only charge me for the time that you utilize. It is worth noting that they charge you each day and you are expected to pay at the end of each day; I've never seen this process before but I suppose it makes sense. Again, phenomenal job and the way that they set expectations came to fruition perfectly. Day three was unpacking, which can be the most tricky because the new place is not going to be identical to the old place so things that you are "used to" will be in different places. They asked good questions and use intuition when unpacking most items But honestly you could tell that these young guys do not have children and do not cook much because there were odd family or kitchen items that were in the completely wrong place; of course, this is understandable and minor. Also, let's be honest - you are going to rearrange your stuff anyway so it's not ever going to be perfect in this instance. The only complaint that I have is that they ended up packing dog food in boxes that were buried at the back of our garage for a "storage" and we needed to end up opening two dozen boxes to find an item that would likely spoil otherwise. Additionally, the labeling for a certain segment of our home was vague - as opposed to certain rooms where they would say "kids room, books" there were other areas that just said "living room" so was mix or Match. That said, I sent a text to the team leader Daniel and he had the CEO, Frank, reach out directly to calm my nerves. Frank is a great guy and runs a great operation and I was really impressed by his personal involvement. All told, I will definitely be using Pure Moving again for our next move. read more

I retained Pure Moving Company at the end of July 2022 for a long distance move from the SF Bay Area to Los Angeles. It was the absolute best moving experience I have EVER had! They provided excellent customer service from their 1st response to my inquiry regarding their long-distance moving services. They were also very responsive and polite. 5 stars are NOT enough for this amazing company! The video estimate I scheduled was conducted in a very professional manner, and the estimate was cheaper than quotes I received from other moving companies. Pure Moving Company assured me that they would move my belongings themselves i.e. another company would not be contracted out since it was not a local move. They also stated that another customer's belongings would not be placed on the same truck as mine in order to save time on a long distance trip. Other moving companies do engage in these practices so you have to be careful and ask questions before booking them. Prior to the day of the move, I received several text messages from Pure Moving Co. discussing Covid protocols and confirming the upcoming move. On the actual day of the move, I received a text from Lance advising that he was about 30 minutes away. Lance and his team arrived on-time and were professional, friendly, efficient, and careful with our belongings. They did not sit around. In fact, they were so proactive and efficient that I actually asked Lance whether he anticipated them slowing down at all, while I was packing additional things to go on the truck. Lance and his team wrapped all of the furniture with care, including a glass table, desk and several pictures and mirrors. They packed everything up in a few hours on Saturday, to deliver by noon the next day. However, I had a medical emergency Saturday night and had to push back the time to meet the movers at storage in LA. Lance was very understanding and accommodating. When I arrived, we encountered another problem i.e. we discovered that the storage unit was too small. I was completely stressed, but Lance calmly reassured me everything would be fine and got on the phone with his manager to find a solution. Everything was resolved by the next day when they met me at my new, larger, storage unit. I didn't think the moving experience up to that point could get any better. However, Lance completely knocked me off my feet when he showed me the storage unit after he had finished unloading everything. It was COMPLETELY organized, better than I could have done myself. Boxes which I told him i needed to access in the near future were placed up front by the door as I requested. I could not have been more pleased with this moving experience. .. so much so that I have told all of my friends and family about it, and also posted on my LinkedIn and Facebook accounts. I will be moving my belongings out of storage in the next few weeks and plan to use Pure Moving Company again. I highly recommend them without ANY reservations! HIRE THEM!!! read more

Personally, I'm a not huge yelper and never really got into a habit of leaving reviews. But this time I really just couldn't help my self and I've been meaning to do this for a while now tbh. My roommate and I were moving out of a 1200sq feet 2BDR apartment from DTLA to Glendale, CA a couple of months back. When we decided to start gathering quotes, we made a point to first call everybody else and call Pure last, given how they are obviously #1 on YELP and GOOGLE e.t.c. The difference in customer service we received between Pure and LITERALLY ALL THE OTHER COMPANIES was night and day! Our rep Christian was always extremely courteous and polite through out the booking process and made a point to let us know about all possible fees and payments in advance as well as answer all the many questions I had about the Double Travel Time e.t.c.- there were truly no surprises for me on the day of! -AND THATS REALLY ALL I NEED TO KNOW FROM ANY COMPANY! Now I was really hesitant at first to go with his suggestion of hiring 5 guys, given how we are on a "high rise building with a long walk up to the truck and we also needed partial packing services" so we decided to stick with 4 when originally booking the move. Finally, we decided to go with Christians suggestion of adding a 5th mover, and when we called the day before the move was supposed to happen to update our order, surprisingly, they were nice enough to accommodate us on such a short notice! - that was the right decision and everything went a lot faster than it could've! Preparing for the move date this time around was very stressful, given the size of the move and the amount of belongings we had... So we did our best to try and pack as much as we could in advance but the guys on the phone assured us that it would absolutely be no problem for the movers to pack a few loose items here and there on the day of if it came down to it... and they FREAGIN' did, which was supper neat. (Next time we are having them pack the entire place for us) - I recommend having the professional movers pack for you if you want a truly stress free experience The team were absolutely phenomenal with Alex in charge, who was an absolutely awesome and upstanding guy with guns for hands! They all worked tirelessly the whole time to complete this move in a fast pace, as promised. Oh boy did they truly deliver! We couldn't help but tipping them at the end! I've done a few nightmarish moves in the past including 2 cross country moves with other companies and by myself and nothing comes even close to this experience with Pure, given how awesome and easy it was from beginning to end. OH and BTW! They also gave me a quick buzz a few days after to follow up with me and make sure everything went well, which I though was beyond cool and it just went to show that they really cared. UPDATE: I am revising my review to 5 stars (from 2) as a show of goodwill after Pure did everything they could to make this right. I was contacted by Pure less than a day after our move. They offered sincere apologies, asked a bit about our experience, and then refunded 3.5 hours of the billed time after concluding the move did take too long. This was more than generous (I would have been happy with an hour and a half). While my comments about the move itself stand below, I feel as a company that Pure takes feedback of this kind very seriously and will work to make it right if you have a poor experience. They even delivered our partial refund by hand the day they reached out - that was something else. Thanks, guys. ---- ORIGINAL REVIEW Well, I really wanted to be happy with this experience based on all the positive reviews for Pure, but I left with a pretty bad taste in my mouth after this move, frankly. I will say our 3-man team were professional and courteous. I had no problems with them personally. My girlfriend and I moved from our one bedroom (750 sq ft) to a small 2 bedroom (900 sq ft). We don't have an unusual amount of furniture, nor is it unusually large. We have stuff, but we packed and boxed 90% of it ahead of time just to ease the process. 9:45am, the moving team arrives. I hear a remark that one of them is new to the job. I'm already nervous. They wrapped our furniture and got all the boxes in the truck just down the stairs (one flight). Did it take them... 2 hours? No. Three? Try again! They took an agonizingly long time with the large items at the end, and so nearly 4 hours later, they were on the road. Around 2:15PM, they arrived at our new place. I'll grant them this: it was hot out, we provided ice water. And I totally get the guys needed a break. It wasn't until 4:45 that the last boxes were carted in. At one point, I was helping one of the guys lift small furniture over the balcony just to speed things along. One was on his phone talking numerous times. We saw them just kind of standing around for 20 minutes while the lead mover was assembling our bed frame. Oh, and we spent 20 minutes haggling over why they needed to use the stairs or service elevator instead of the glass passenger elevator (management doesn't want damage to the glass). Time wasted. Half the time it just seemed like they were dragging their feet. So, all in, we spent A THOUSAND DOLLARS (plus tip!) to move a one bedroom place 15 miles. Billed at 7.75 hours. We had budgeted - we thought generously - $800 with tip for this move. And that was at the high end. Pure may get good reviews, but I can't help but feel our crew simply weren't motivated or, frankly, competent. I would not use them again. My girlfriend moved 80% of the stuff at 40% of the cost two years ago. This kind of cost is insane. read more
