I am always pleasantly surprised when a coffee shop has creative tea options and let me tell you--there is an extensive amount of tea options! I tried the vanilla chai latte and it had a spicy kick to it, just wished that it wasn't lukewarm in temperature. I like that they make their own concentrate for the chai, although if you pick an option with their loose leaf teas, they are bought. There was plenty of seating and the music/people were not too loud. The barista was knowledgeable and provided recommendations. Would definitely like to come back and try the other teas! read more

Coziest coffee shop with lots of seating. My favorite shop to sit and read in downtown Dayton. I always love whatever music playlist they have going on-- never too loud, usually some kind of jazz or lofi stuff. I will get spinach and feta pastry just about every place that offers them, and Wholly Ground's is my favorite. Staff has always been really kind, too. read more

Was looking for a good place to get some work done and finally was able to stop into Wholly Grounds and I am so glad I did. They have lots of different creative tea and coffee options that I have not seen anywhere else in Dayton, and the execution is top-tier. I ordered the Serene Sunsets and it may be one of the best coffee beverages I have ever tasted. I wasn't sure what to expect and I was NOT disappointed. My friend and I went out of our way to go to this place based on the fact that they say on their website they have gluten free bakery items, there was not one gluten free bakery option when we visited. We opted for a tea and all I can say is that it was very watered down and flavorless. For $6 I expected much better. Come here for the relaxed vibe and friendly owner, one of the real gastronomic gems of this coffeehouse are the CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. Awesome place! Got a gluten free cinnamon roll and small iced sugar free latte with soy milk. Really appreciated how the batista put A LOT of carmel in for me like I asked and it was sooo good and just the right amount of sweetness. Cinnamon roll was sweet and delicious and loved the gluten free option too. I felt energized after the coffee instead of jittery which I loved. The atmosphere here was wonderful and I loved the plants, dark wood, and Edison bulbs everywhere. I was also impressed with all the cool drink options! They had options to include alcohol in some drinks and had strawberry cream and blueberry coffee drink options which you don't see everywhere. Very cool and creative. read more

This place is pretty cool. Nice, open seating, very clean, cute decorations. I got a chocolate chip muffin that was amazing, my friend got a raspberry white chocolate chip scone, again amazing. The location here is gorgeous and cozy. you could come and hang out all day. Wile I will say the coffee is not quite at Ghostlights level it is very good and the barista take their time to do things right. The people working are super friendly and willing to answer any and all questions and are very knowledgeable about what they are carrying. They carry a lot of gluten free and vegan bakery options from Purely Sweet and everything we had was very tasty. They are still getting their feet on the ground and finding what works for them in inventory but I am hopeful that this will be a nice little local spot as well. read more

Fantastic coffee shop! First time in today and will definitely be back again soon! Very helpful and kind staff. Lots of options for coffee drinks, flavors, and food options. My drink tasted excellent, a latte with Irish cream flavor. Also shoutout to their excellent customer support. I had just waited for my drink and got to my car to only drop and spill it EVERYWHERE. They went out of their way to make me a new one and give me a bunch of paper towels. It's the little gestures that mean the most. 10/10 recommend! read more

Had planned to go to Ghostlight Cafe just down the road, however there was no place to park or sit inside so we left and found this beauty! We were happy to see an empty cafe with plenty of places to sit. Although the coffee took awhile to be made, it was delicious and the employees were kind. We enjoyed our time here and will be back. Cool, cozy interior. Kinda kitschy decor in some areas, but they're close to achieving a semi cohesive look. Unfortunately, it's a 1 star because when I asked what's on drip they said "light medium or dark." No information on flavor profiles or regions. Then they proceeded to charge $2 for a small light roast, which is fine if it's good coffee and the barista is knowledgeable about what he or she is serving but this place didn't have either. I had my first sip and it tastes watered down. No interesting flavor profiles like a good light roast should have. Coffee snobs be warned. Better stick to Press Coffee or Boston Stoker. read more

We came here to try out a new place while we were in the area. My husband ordered a tea, that was very tasty. I ordered a flat white and a breakfast sandwich. The place only had one person working a Sunday morning. He was doing an admirable job keeping up, but it was still just him trying to do everything, so the service was a little slow. The flat white came in a small water tumbler, which was not ideal as there is no handle to use; however, the flat white was good. The breakfast sandwich...oh the sandwich. This is a super cute shop and I wish I could work here! The atmosphere is nice and plus there is gluten free options. I also love that they offer nondairy options for coffee. The only downside is that the Chai Latte isn't that great. I fell they should add more spice to it and more milk not water. For some reason, Chai lattes aren't that great in Ohio, except for the Chai that's sometimes served in Curry & Grill, I've never tasted better. How long have I been driving past this place on my way to the three other locally owned coffee shops on this road? I'm so glad I finally noticed the sign and stopped! I love the warm seating area with plenty of table space and big front window. And I am absolutely obsessed with their spicy chai! The spice is no joke, like not just cinnamon and ginger but pepper too. You feel it in your throat! And it makes the best dirty chai I've ever had. They also have a vanilla chai if you prefer something milder. Other drinks we've tried: lattes, hot apple cider and a london fog, which tasted good but I would have preferred them strain the lavender flowers out before serving. They have lots of gluten free and vegan baked goods plus regular stuff too. I can't wait to try one of their cocktails. My new favorite coffee bar on Wayne! read more

The bakery case was poorly stocked, and the staff was not at all familiar with what items were gluten-free, and which were not, even though the menu on their website, list, gluten-free items like a gluten, free English muffin, donuts, and biscotti. They told me that their website was wrong, but that they had keto bagels. Since keto isn't normally gluten-free, I asked if the bagels happened to also be gluten-free, and they said yes. I purchased the bagel to go, however, since none of the labels on the display case, said gluten-free, they only said Pito, and the keto diet is just low carb, not gluten-free, I didn't feel safe to eat the bagel since I am gluten free. I wish the staff would have been more knowledgeable so they wouldn't have sold me some thing I can't eat. read more

Fantastic Coffee, the Espresso is to die for, I also sampled the drip the Barista said it was a Mexican bean (i forget the name) but it was sweet. On the downside, I got a muffin and it had a blue fingerprint on it, maybe a catering thing, but I read on a different review website a customer said they found the same thing on one of the ceramic cups. read more

I saw the sign for the shop from the 35. Stopped in with my family. We had the hot chocolates which were very tasty and I got a French press decaf which was also good. They carry vegan and gluten free baked goodies and local coffee roasters like Twisted River. The people were nice and the vibe and styling were good for working or hanging out. Do stop in! read more
