UNFINISHED BUSINESS This multi-use entertainment facility shows promise, but their policies have me very much on the fence. I suggested WickedBall for a friend's bachelor party on 3/30/19. Our group of eight arrived shortly before our reserved time and appreciated their collection of family room games: ping pong, air hockey, pool, and a few consoles set up with Fortnite. Before going in for bubble soccer, we figured a round of beers would be in order. That's when management explicitly told us "if you're playing, you can't drink". POR QUE!?! Why then, does the fully stocked bar even exist.....to tempt anyone over 21? Seems stupid. After storing our valuables in lockers, an overzealous game warden walked us through the rules. I'm sure he will make a great P.E. teacher someday, but our group was pretty low-key and this dude had no chill whatsoever, even scolding us a couple times. C'mon dude. Truthfully, the bubble soccer area was WAY too small to accommodate 6-8 people inside giant acrylic spheres and gave us not much room to run around. The game clock sitting on the floor got kicked over every so often, and every time a ball went into the corners our referee called for a time out. My first experience with Bubble Soccer was part of another bachelor party several years ago, at the Players Indoor Sports Center in Naperville. That was more fun, better organized, and a much larger turf area. Hell, we probably could've drank ON the field and they wouldn't have cared. WB's nerfgun arena was little more than vertical sheets of unpainted plywood with netting on both ends. Since it wasn't fully enclosed, tiny yellow balls would come trickling out, which then got stepped on. The fully automatic guns were powered (which made things interesting) but the reload area/neutral zone made absolutely no sense being in the middle of nerf warzone. A 2-hour wristband is $50 (it came out to $65 per person, after some silly "Lombard Amusement Tax"). I suppose that's not a bad deal if you're making the most of your time, but I'm not about to screw around with foosball at nearly $30/hour while I patiently wait for other groups to finish trying to kill each other. * TL;DR * It's as if someone had this great idea but couldn't find a venue that was big enough, so they stuffed a ton of activities into a Yorktown storefront. Overall, WickedBall struck me as haphazard, a few steps above some dude's makeshift setup in his garage that he built for the kids to mess around in. I know management doesn't want us puking on the court, but how exactly are they going to enforce the strict 'no drinking' rule? What about all those people who find somewhere else to drink (like right next door)? Are you going to make them blow in a breathalyzer, or is it more a judgment call? Sh*t man, people get drunk all the time at WhirleyBall, which is essentially lacrosse in bumper cars. If they can let a bunch of buzzed adults get behind the wheel, y'all should be fine with serving us a cold one whenever we want. Loosen your rules a bit, live a little! Recommended for off-site fun. Rent out some bubbles for a private event and play in a big grassy field, but avoid playing here -- it's too damn cramped. read more

We had a sales meeting nearby and had about 17 people come here for an outing. We had a great time and enjoyed the events. We played dodgeball, rode the mechanical bull, played laser tag, bubble soccer, and the "wipeout" ring. We laughed so much and got in a good sweat! Everything was clean and organized. We went to a friend's party at WickedBall. Kids did Laser Tag. The space looked run down and dirty. About a third of the laser tag head bands didn't work and at least two of the guns were missing scopes. The staff blamed customers for abusing the equipment and basically scolded our group. No one was misbehaving and half the group was made up of parents. The staff member working the desk was very friendly, but other staff were not. Basically we got broken equipment and rude staff. I bought this deal on Groupon and I'm so glad that I purchase this deal. My Yelp Friend Liang H. was willing to come along and join in on the fun. After a long day at work I needed some adult time to just unwind and have some fun. Upon on our arrival there was a private party that was about to start so we it was suggested that we could return in about an hour. Since the mall was literally across the walk way we were fine to go on our happy way and to start some early Christmas Shopping and have some girls time to chat. After our hour of browsing the mall we return back to WB to start our fun. Brandon (The Owner) explained which games options we could choose to play. Our minds were clearly set on playing the Virtual Reality game and Wickedball Bubble Soccer. We signed a wavier form and put our personal things in a locker and were set to go. The VR was super fun. I felt like a kid all over again from walking on a plank on top of the city to me coloring in 3D inside a painting studio. Very Creative. A great way of exploring your mind in a different unique creative way. Now on to more fun and a great workout for sure. My first time trying bubble soccer and I was exhausted. But I had so much fun here at WB that it's a must that I return back to try out more games of fun. So much fun! Doesn't matter if you're a kid or an adult, WickedBall is a blast. They have all of those great games that you just don't have room for at home. We played soccer in the giant WickedBalls and at some point everyone went flying. Also tried the battle archery, which was a great time. Really pricy. $35 for 5 games plus arcade for only 1 hour. They did not have the games set up already so you had to spend part of the hour waiting for the games to be set up and each game was only 5 minutes. By the time they finished there was no time for arcade (poor excuse for an arcade). The place seems pretty small compared to other wickedball places BUT that's okay because everything they had was still fun. So, they had pingpong table, 2 air hockey tables, pool table, 90's arcade, 3 xbox games, 1 basketball shootout, big Jenga and connect 4, wickedball, archery, nerf, and so much more!!! I would actually recommend doing 2 hours of unlimited game but the 1 hour was good enough for us. The xbox we couldn't play because they didn't have a lot of video game options, just the most updated ones and we didn't know how to play those. Finally, the staff was great! I think that's what made it better. The staff was very nice, enthusiastic, and active to engage us in different games. If it was up to us, we would have played the regular games for an hour. My Yelp friend Maronda H. and I enjoyed some Monday night fun here after work recently using our Groupon. The staff here were very nice when we had expressed that we wanted to do the bubble soccer. However, there was a private party booked at this time and they told us to return in an hour when the group had finished. We did just that and enjoyed our time browsing at the mall before returning. The owner set us up with virtual reality games first since we could choose 2 things to do: we chose VR and bubble soccer. We had a blast doing VR and the owner was so charming! Some of the VR games included a 3D painting studio, walking on a plank above a city, a horror roller coaster, and so much more. Definitely something to experience if you have never done so. The only downside is that they only have one VR headset so we couldn't play together but we took turns. Bubble soccer is about 24 pounds, it is a very heavy "suit" you wear and it is a definite workout but it is a blast. The workers will be our coach and help us keep score. Meh. I hosted a 16 year old party for my daughter last night. Right from the beginning I felt like the staff really don't explain what they actually have available when I booked the party. The website has pictures on-line, but not everything is available at this location. This place had great foundation for being fun. We had a "host" assigned to our group. I had to pay a 20% tip before she did anything, which honestly I wasn't expecting (on top of the $350 bill) and I wish I would've only given 15%. My group had a lot of fun at WickedBall! My coworker planned the night out and I believe she got a Groupon deal. So for us, it was $20 per person for an hour (we had 8 people total). Now at first I didn't think an hour was enough. But after you get into those giant inflatable balls and start running around, you need to be a serious athlete to want to be able to do that for more than an hour!
